Chapter 149: Red River Again
However, even three players that survived the baptism of Gawee Continent were too much for it. It fell in seconds and left behind a very large red stone.
"It's yours!" Samsi gave him the stone.
"You can grab it with bare hands?" Seth was surprised.
"You can't?" Samsi asked. Looking around Seth realized he was the odd one, "Nope!"
Seth used a hand glove made from leaves and took it before he stored it in his pocket. He knew it was just a good gesture from the group.
"Didn't you get physical improvements against the element of Gawee?" Samsi asked as they continued forward.
"I did but…"
"Sheesh. Don't distract yourself!" Juma growled, she seemed tense as she grabbed a small rapier. Seth looked around and he found everyone tense again.
With Aura Sight, he saw an overwhelming aura coming toward them, it was coming from an insect, a fist size insect that was just passing by.
Zambia at the forefront was sweating buckets and his muscles tensed but the creature just passed and entered a crevice while more insects of the same species came and passed.
Three minutes later, everyone calmed down. "So your ability to sense danger can only lock on those that have intention on you or glance at you?" Juma asked.
"Well, most of the time. I guess!" Seth tilted his head at the question.
"In that case, you should be at the front with Zambia. That way you can pinpoint things faster!"
But Zambia refused that idea, he said that Seth's ability was important and should not be used now. That was when Seth realized that he had become the favourite of the group.
Now people were watching his every move and seeing him calm, they were calm and if he was startled they too became tense.
'Damn it. I didn't have a danger sense, I had an Aura Sense. What if a creature that I didn't notice just came crashing and I didn't react?'
Seth mulled because he doesn't want his bluff to be discovered.
He can deduce that these people scrutinized his every move, he was bound to be suspicious if he made a blunder. What if someone finds he was lying?
What if one of them has a monster that was ready to attack me but I didn't react to it?
Seth kept having many scenarios in his head but then he thought, 'Aura can be influenced by emotions, right? Can I develop a sight that can see the intentions of creatures?'
Seth focused on the crevices, some have creatures but they seem to move away as they come closer and Seth quickly made a connection.
Juma was the one scaring them. He then looked at her intently and she looked back with a frown. Her skin was darker than normal, she has a round face with baby fat. She wields a rapier and also has a necklace on her hand.
"What?" She asked as she was uncomfortable due to Seth's scrutiny. Seth shook his head as focused forward.
'She seems to be the strongest among us!' Seth thought his problem was that he couldn't seem to trust her at all.
They reached a clearing with countless abhorrent creatures, some fighting each other while some moving around aimlessly.
"That insect. Is it not good to tell the great dragon where it is!" Seth said to the group as they were ready for battle.
"She doesn't want insects anymore," Zambia said
"Hmm. But you know, what I felt from it after I looked at it was comparable to the dragon itself!" Seth added to see people's reactions.
"Dragons aren't invincible. But still, that thing is small, so it wasn't something she wanted!" Zambia answered.
"Hmm. How do you speak with dragons? And this one seems to have no conventional wings, are some dragons different like that?" Seth asked.
He asked Vela this question but it seemed she doesn't want anything that will infer the true power of a dragon.
"Ask Juma, she knows better!"
Seth looked at the aloof woman.
"Some variant dragons develop strange abilities and body proportions due to some circumstances. That dragon is the same!"
'Yeah, you aren't saying a thing that I don't know!'
"What are her elements? Water or wind!"
"You asked too many questions. Wait until you meet her again and ask!" Zambia growled as he dashed to kill abhorrent creatures. The rest, too, were happy to have free ExP.
Seth and Samsi stood behind as they watched the carnage. Each of the players was strong and had a unique ability.
"You don't want EXP!" Samsi said.
"I'm good. By the way, I feel that we aren't here for dragon quest!" Seth said.
"We are. It's just that this place has treasures that we want, so come for them while doing the quest."
"What type of treasure?"
"Ahm, they are gems."
Seth nodded. The exploration that day to Seth was a failure but for the players, it was a success because they have tons of EXP.
After they returned, the dragon didn't appear and they went back into the exploration and the same thing happened. Only fight and EXP farming.
What annoyed Seth was that they were becoming bold and asking him to tell them if he felt danger from the walls so that they kill it. As for him, he wasn't enjoying that because he is maxed level.
From time to time, a powerful creature will come that can almost kill them but they always win in the end.
On the fourth day, Seth had enough and said, " I have been sensing something, I want to explore it!"
"What is it?"
Seth just beat around the bush and asked for the group to come with him. Zambia didn't acknowledge the idea but Rena, a player in orange attire supports the idea. They followed Seth for the first time. And he led them toward the red aura he had been sensing.
As Seth was the lead, he tried to avoid all creatures and notify them if he couldn't. The underground world was like a maze where people could easily get lost but not Seth.
Walking for about an hour, Juma asked, "Where are we going?" Seth looked back and he found her far behind.
"Somewhere that might have a treasure."
Juma stared at him and then looked at Rena. The girl smiled and said, "this is the path to Blood ancient!"
"Blood ancient? What is that?" Seth asked.
"You are leading us there without knowing. Are you not being called or enticed to go?" Juma asked cautiously.
"Nope. It's just that this instrument was reacting!" Seth showed them the red stick he showed them the first time.
"It's fantastic if you are leading us to Blood Ancient!" Samsi said happily, the rest nodded.
It turned out that the players had explored so much and they had stumbled upon many hidden locations before. But due to its maze nature, some of these places were hard to trace back.
One of these places was Blood Ancient, Yellow Room and Darkness Cave. All of them have been to Blood Ancient but only Samsi and Zambia have been to Yellow Room while some of them have been to Darkness Cave.
Now that he was guiding them to Blood Ancient, Rena who had some connection with the place was able to feel and understand they were getting closer. Juma too can feel it.
As Seth looked at them, he realized, all of them could feel the place they were going, and they were very tense. However, they were also happy about it.
Seth asked them what the place was all about but they kept their mouths shut. They only told him that if they reached the place he should be silent and say no word. Reaching the place took them the whole day, but Seth couldn't enter the place.
There was a sentence on a well-carved rock that says "Blood Ancient!" beyond that was nothing spectacular but a river, it was a red river.
Seth felt an indescribable fear just glancing at it, what he remembered was his wife Retina. She also has a red river but he knew this one has nothing to do with her.
That wasn't what terrified him the most. It was that he felt his blood running faster in his body, not only that Red Signature and Aura Blood flowers were pulsing very powerfully.
He felt like if he went in there he would lose himself completely. But then he realized he was the only one feeling it. Some have their eyes closed as they passed the door.
Seth on the other hand took a step back.
"Running away?"
Seth was startled as he looked back but there was no one. "Come inside, right now Seth Enoch!"
"Sorry but!"
"Come inside!" It was the river that was talking to him. And he recognised the voice, it was Chief Red Monster, the first Red Eye Human Race he met. The person that guided him to select a flower.
