Temporal Pearls

Chapter 148: Players Exploration

"That's right. I once escaped, ran and almost reached my sanctuary but then the Great Blast Dragon just appeared and took me back!" A man in yellow attire said.

"Do we get a reward?" Seth asked.

"Yes! It's a quest!" Juma said. All the players stared at Seth, waiting for his answer.

"Dragon Quest or what?" Seth wanted to confirm.

"Dragon Quest!" Zambia said.

Seth smiled, "That was new, but what about the death penalty and other hardships? You know shit happens!"

"There is no apparent penalty!" Juma said, "just that the dragon may hate you or even hunt you down if you refused its orders!"

Seth nodded, "What is the reward!"

"It's this!" She showed Seth a rectangular and somehow oval-shaped metallic colour thick object. It was the dragon scale that it used to create a blast.

"I'm in," Seth said with a smile. He behaved enthusiastically and was very glad. The players laughed and some shook their heads because they thought this idiot was just happy. After all, it was a dragon quest.

"What does it do?" Seth asked.

Suddenly, Juma's voice was amplified and she explained that it amplified sound and increased the strength and defence of the holder. It can also be used to improve attire.

"Okay, tell us about your ability!" This time, Zambia was dead serious as he stared at Seth.

"Will I get to know your powers?" Seth cocked his head.

"It's a must. We are a team!"

Seth's shifting armour returned to normal Azure Attire, the soft azure fabric like the others revealed. And then his staff elongated to 10m and widened to 1m before it returned to normal.

Then he brought another staff, which was red and made it float around him, but there was a red string attached to him that connected him with it.

"Then, sometimes I can see things when I meet an enemy!" Seth explained.

"You see things. Like what!"

"Whenever I meet a creature that is stronger than me, I usually see and feel I'm no match for it or if there is a way I can escape. That's how I managed to live long!"

The players nodded and then they began to explain themselves and what they could do.

Seth read and looked at people. There were thirteen people here including him. He sighed and said, "I guess we're hunting Ant Monsters?"

"Well, no. We have done that already. We are doing the second one! Our job was to explore some crevices and find large creatures and report back!"

"So, he got the Ant Queen?"

"He? No, it's a she. The Blast Dragon wasn't satisfied by the Queen. She had expected the queen to be large but it wasn't so, it was very small!" Juma explained.

"But since we have done the job, we got the reward nonetheless!" Zambia said.

"Alright. Anything you plan. I'm in!" Seth said to them.

"Do you have any kind of information, regarding large creatures or dragons?" Samsi said he was the yellow-attired guy!

"Well… I do! There was a time I saw a dragon flying. And I saw a cave where he went but it was far away from here. I don't even know if I can find the place!"

"Are you sure?" Zambia, "How big was the dragon?" Juma asked.

"Ahm. I didn't observe it well, it only lasted for a moment before it just disappeared but I kinda saw its silhouette in the cave when I was passing by."

Juma looked at Zambia and he nodded before he said he would report it to the dragon when she came back.

The idea was simple if the dragon took him back up there that would solve his problems.

The next thing they discussed was how they were going to the dungeon where they would search for creatures as per the dragon's request. Seth and his new team embarked on it an hour later.

'Based on my Quest intuitive feelings, that dragon is the one I need to conquer and it seems that its ability is related to blast and explosion. Sadly, it brought me here!'

Seth looked at his companion. They were happy to see him but based on the nature of the game they were all wary of each other.

'These are 12 people here, does that mean if I lead them toward a positive event for a week, I will finish the second quest?'

Seth observed all of them but he got the feeling the only reason these people are following Zambia was that he seemed to be able to commune with the Dragon but if not, that girl Juma was stronger. Well, based on her aura. Samsi too, the guy with yellow attire, he gave him some creep under my skin.

Seth suddenly came to a halt, this walk seemed eerily similar. He had followed Irik without knowing the true content of the mission and he ended up a captive and was forced to marry and served as fuel.

However, the players all stopped and got ready for a battle, Zambia in particular was ready to clobber his drums.

"What did you see?" Samsi silently appeared beside him and whispered.

'Shit. I made a blunder. I told them I could see and feel the danger before it happened and now they react to my sudden reaction. How can I salvage it!'

It wasn't a problem to solve, his eyes can see a slight aura even if it wasn't activated. He activated his Aura Sight and the whole tunnel changed and became a congregation of many colours.

The predominant one was red and this particular red made a string that was touching him, to be precise it was touching the string that Retina gave him.

It was that normal thread that she gave Seth as they played a string game, but Seth realized the string was stronger than anything he came across, including the Floating Feathered Dragon.

But red wasn't the only thing around, there were other colours, yellow, black and brown. The yellow was caressing Samsi who had yellow attire.

Black was touching Zambia and brown was directly entering Juma's halo and fueling it. But above all, Seth sensed that the dragon was still stalking them.

After a few seconds of scanning, he also noticed many creatures in some crevices peeking at them, some of them were powerful but some of them seemed wary.

'Are they wary of someone among us or the dragon stalking us?'

"We are under the watch of some things!" Seth finally said. "It just became so pronounced!"

Samsi, the yellow guy nodded and he vanished and appeared beside Zambia. He didn't hear what he told him but the boy came back and asked, "Can you pinpoint them!"

At that moment, Seth witnessed the dragon leaving, but the other creatures were oblivious.

"I felt them from the crevices above us, 2m beyond us and few from behind us!" Seth vaguely said.

A player in Ash attire releases a cloud of dust in the air and just like that, it formed an arrow toward some locations that Seth announced.

That was when Juma raised her hand but Zambia shook his head, and another player with Ash-brown attire brought out a whistle and blew it. Spears appeared out of thin air and shot toward that location.

Screech!

Moahhh!

Boom!

Three of the creatures were killed, a few escaped and one avoided the attack and jumped inside attacking them.

It was a level 9 abhorrent that had a bull's head and human hand. Its tail was half fish and it can float a few inches above the ground. Its main form of attack was screeching that sounded like a banshee.

To Seth's surprise, the whole fight shifted and he was protected against the creature while the rest went and engaged it.

Just like the Level 9 giraffe Seth has faced before, this creature can detach part of its body to avoid being killed. And above that, it was able to heal as fast.
