She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 653 Retracing the Steps - IV

"Oi, missy. You lost?"

Damien chuckled in disbelief when that man began walking towards the entrance of the alley. He shook his head and thought to himself, "Well, there are repulsive people like him who can mess with my plan."

Damien grabbed his explosive and glared at it. "I had hoped it wouldn't come down to this. But it did anyway. So I don't have any option. I can't let that sick pig get near Ariel."

"I can take you to my home if you're lost, missy. What do you–"

Damien was about to get up and throw that explosive at that man. However, he stopped when saw an overwhelming amount of red aura.

And right after, that filthy man returned back to his original place, and he mumbled, "What's up with those red eyes? I never knew people had red eyes."

A subtle smirk appeared on Damien's lips as he absorbed all the sweet aura that was lingering around him. "So, he can get angry…"

While he was harnessing the energy from Kenneth's aura, he heard the conversation between Kenneth and Ariel.

"I thought I saw someone I knew…"

"Damien?"

Damien rested his head on the wall. "So, he knows about me too."

He further heard Ariel saying, "I don't think it was him. He would have sensed me if he was really here."Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Damien felt a prick in his heart when he heard that. And he apologized to her in his heart, "How can I not sense you, Ariel. But please… wait for a few more days. I haven't been able to decide yet, whether I shall show myself to you or I shall stay away for the rest of eternity."

But then he heard what Kenneth had said, "To be honest, I would have liked it if you hadn't run away looking for him. But that would be too selfish of me. I am aware that I can never take his place in your life, but I do wish to take a comfortable place in your heart and a new place in your life."

Damien covered his mouth with his fist. An iota of hope sparked inside his heart.

"Does… does that mean I still hold an important position in Ariel's life? And he hasn't won her heart over yet?"

Damien closed his eyes and smiled broadly. "I am not too late! I still have a chance to make it all right. I can still win her back!"

Damien inhaled deeply and thought to himself, "Then I don't think there is any time left to lose. I should get Ariel back before that hybrid completely wins her over."

He recalled that everyone had been assigned a separate room back at the guest house. And he made a plan, "I will knock on Ariel's door when everyone goes to their respective rooms. I don't care if she punches me or kicks me. I will endure everything. It's time that I meet her."

Damien finished converting the aura into his energy. He was now able to activate the invisibility spell as well.

He smiled and thought, "I won't be needing it after tonight."

Damien rushed back to the guest house to wait for everyone to return. And while waiting, he walked around the garden while thinking of things to say to Ariel.

"How should I greet her when she opens the door? I can't simply say 'Hey, I'm back from the dead!' now, can I?"

He sighed and thought, "This is going to be hard. What the hell am I supposed to say?"

"Should I immediately drop down on my knees and ask for forgiveness? Or should I wait for her reaction and say things accordingly?" Discover stories with empire

Damien was still trying to come up with ways to face Ariel when the Royals returned back from the town. Without any delay, they all went to their respective rooms.

Damien took a deep breath in and thought to himself, "Okay, let's wait for 10-15 minutes, and then let's face her wrath or love, whatever she showers."

However, the more time Damien took to prepare himself, the more nervous he got.

Still, Damien was adamant about talking with Ariel tonight. He built up the courage. And then he set his feet towards Ariel's room.

He was moving his feet nervously. He couldn't help but think how things could go very wrong. Rather than being afraid of getting kicked by Ariel, he was afraid that she would forbid him from coming back into her life.

And while his head was occupied with all sorts of things, he didn't realize that a maid was running right towards him while carrying a water glass.

As Damien was invisible, that maid ran right into his body. The glass in her hand shattered into pieces, and she cut herself.

"What did I bump into?" she held her bleeding palm and looked around her. But she didn't find anything.

Even though she was bleeding, that maid knelt down to pick up the broken pieces of glass.

Damien, on the other hand, was struggling at the sight of blood.

For all these years, he had been fine since he never came across human blood. However, now that he was seeing it and inhaling that inviting aroma, his tongue recalled the sweet taste of blood that he had once tasted.

His eyes turned red. And his fangs forced their way out of his gums.

He was taken over by an immense desire to feed on that maid. He felt his stomach rumbling. He was hungry after years.

Damien tried his best to suppress that hunger. However, he could tell that if he stayed near that maid for any longer, he would snap her neck in two by sinking his fangs into her.

So he forced himself to run away from there.

He only wanted to get away from the sight and smell of blood. However, his feet subconsciously brought him in front of that man who had disgusted him a while ago.

"Ah! Perfect!" an evil smirk appeared on Damien's lips upon seeing that man.

Damien's predatory instinct took over his mind. All he could think of was blood. And there was no one more fit to quench his thirst than that man.

He undid his invisibility spell and stood in front of that drunk man like a pillar.

"One less burden for Earth. At least your blood was put to great use," Damien glared down at his victim after sucking him dry and killing him.
