Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 379 Siege of the Colossus

As the platform finally stabilized itself, Xu Feng felt the ground shaking heavily, implying that there were really invaders.

"What's going on?" Xu Feng quickly rushed toward a female clerk, who was busy preparing an emergency evacuation.

"An emergency signal has been launched that there are numerous monsters currently rushing to Paradise Plains. By now, every eligible fighter is being summoned to help assist in defending the city." The female clerk explained while continuously telling others to start evacuating.

Given that Paradise Plains was literally a paradise for Professionists, the majority of the people living here aren't great fighters.

However, that didn't mean they were useless in battle either, given their usefulness was in the utility aspect of alleviating some of the pressure for the fighters.

Amidst Xu Feng's confusion, every player currently playing the Divine World suddenly received a system prompt.

System: The siege of the Colossus event had been triggered by a player! The Divine World would undergo a major update for one natural day! All players please promptly find a safe place to log out!

"Siege of the Colossus?" Stupefied, Xu Feng rubbed his eyes twice in case he read the system prompt wrong.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Other than Xu Feng's confusion, many other players were equally confused and startled by the system prompt.

"Which damn player triggered such an event?" Eagle Snipe exclaimed in fury.

"I haven't even reached level 25 and now there's a major event happening?" Lightning Blade's mouth was agape from the shock.

"This is an opportunity for the Tyrant Fist Guild to rise!" Herald Fist clenched his fist, and determination flashed across his eyes.

"This is going to be troublesome for our development…" Gentle Wind furrowed her brows. Just when things were starting to flow smoothly with the guild, the system surprise prompt ruined everything.

"I doubt we're the only ones surprised by this impromptu announcement." Autumn Breeze said from the sides.

Aside from them, the game forum was currently flooded with numerous posts and discussions regarding Divine World's first major update.

Clearly, everyone was taken by surprise and not many thought an update would come so fast. There weren't even any hints or signs of the event happening, especially when all players were still Tier 0.

How were they supposed to tackle the event if they can't even advance to Tier 1? The system was practically telling them to die without a chance to retaliate or survive.

Amidst the players' concern and worry about the changes that would occur, Xu Feng suddenly received a message from Carmen.

Lunar Wraith: Guild Leader, do you think this event happened because of what we did?

Lin Feng: ???

Lunar Wraith: You know…. The glitch exp that we did? Could it be the colossus are the ones that were living underground.

Suddenly, Xu Feng's face twitched as he found himself dazed at the moment.

The siege of the Colossus was one of the major events that required players to constantly defend cities from the Colossus invasion. However, that event happened when the majority of the players had advanced to Tier 1, with a few being Tier 2.

Thus, the event garnered much excitement from players who couldn't wait for the update to happen— a stark contrast compared to the current state of players' minds.

'Right this event happened shortly after the glitch exp was exposed by some players who were livid that they could no longer exploit it.' Xu Feng finally recalled some of the hazy memories of his past timeline.

However, during that time, there were many things happening, so it was impossible to know if the glitch exp was the actual cause of the triggering of the event.

Silent for a few moments, Xu Feng quickly chuckled and shook his head.

"Nah, how could this be related to the glitch exp." He mused, replying to Carmen that she was overthinking too much.

Not everything revolved around him, and he was positive that the player who triggered the event was another person.

Elsewhere, Carmen, who was currently at a beginner's town, accompanied by her former co-worker and friend, Veronica otherwise known as Vortex Viper in the Divine World was speechless by the explanation.

Experience tales with empire

'Is it really not related to the Guild Leader?' She wondered silently. Having gone on many adventures with him for a while already, Carmen was highly suspicious that any major event or incident had some relation to Xu Feng.

After all, he was the only player who could monopolize a whole city by himself when others were still struggling to enter one.

"Carmen, hello, are you there?" Amidst her daze, her friend, Veronica, started waving her hand. "What's gotten into you? Were you that shocked by the system prompt?"

Snapping out of her daze, Carmen flashed an awkward smile. "Oh, nothing… I was just thinking that this system prompt is going to hinder your leveling up. After all, you need to reach a certain level requirement to be eligible to enter a city."

"It's fine." Veronica shook her head. "I've had fun already and as for catching up with the other mainstream players. I'm not interested in it. I just want to play at my own pace."

"Yes, that is a good mindset." Agreed Carmen. In all honesty, she wasn't that competitive, to begin with.

However, maybe because she had seen how hard Xu Feng was constantly working, never giving himself a break. That kind of firm resolution from him seemed to have affected her.

"Anyway, let's return to the tavern where we rented a room. The system warned us to find a safe spot to log out." Carmen reminded her.

"Okay."

Shortly after, the duo returned to their tavern and Veronica began to ask whether they should meet up for a hang-out.

"Recently, I've discovered a new coffee and dessert shop has opened. The reviews are pretty good, so shall we get some?" Veronica suggested.

Unfortunately for her, Carmen shook her head and had to reject her suggestion.

"I'm afraid I have to reject your offer. I have some plans to head over to Avalon City." Carmen smiled lightly.
