Chapter 1017: Meaning of fiction
[OP: ]
The test that Eon received was not simple in the slightest. With each question, the difficulty of the things that he could do and the things that he wanted to do changed greatly.
There were things that he wanted to do and there were things that he could not do even though there was nothing wrong with it.
The moral limitations, the ethical boundaries, even the natural limitations that a (Truth Holder) like him possesses was unimaginable to anything that did not understand things from his perspective.
Killing a helpless rabbit was one thing, but a theoretical question where he has to kill hundred people just to save a few thousand was not something he could answer— the question that was asked to him was a little complicated so there was no way for him to answer it.
He also could not answer some questions to the fullest of his capacity as it was asked of him… since he knew the truths of various aspects of nature, he knew just how deep some things were and he could not write it directly. He could not even tell some of the things to anyone indirectly.
The artificial or established truths were something that he was less restricted by as well So, he had to keep in mind that he does not violate these truths while trying to restrict himself to the ordinal truths.
Some questions that were asked to him, some questions that were simply unexpected even to him, were more about values than the actual things related to nature itself.
In this paper where he should have been answering things related to nature, he was painlessly killing rabbits, he was giving away ways to make the greave offenders suffer the cruellest of fates, he was even showing them how to cut down something to increase the pain sensitivity of that particular cut and how to maximise the pain. Rather than a test, halfway through the test, he started believing that whoever made these questions simply wanted to test his limits and see just how much he knew.
One of the reason he gave him this particular calm setting must be because they wanted to see just how much he could handle the inner chaos with this strangely calm environment.
’I was used as a test subject by those bastards…’
He did not like what they did with him. And he was not going to tolerate everything that was thrown at him.
He did not care about the minus markings after a certain point and simply skipped the questions that were beyond what he could answer in a test like this one.
If the only thing at stake here were a few marks, then he very well did not care about them. The marks weren’t really that important for the student council members anyway.
The rankings can go to hell if they were going to ask him to kill things, torture things, tell them things that he really wasn’t comfortable telling to just anyone, and some questions really got on his nerves.
One certain question asking him if he’d sacrifice his familiar for the closest person in his life strangely Almost ticked him off… but he then thought about that question, and the questions following this one from the subject matter perspective.
Setting his emotions aside, he thought of a certain theory that somehow made sense to him at this time.
’Fiction.’
From a literary standpoint, it refers to any narrative or story that is invented or imagined, as opposed to being factual or historically accurate. It can also be seen as a tool for cognitive and emotional exploration.
Fiction, when viewed culturally, may reflect societal values, beliefs, and norms. It often encapsulates the hopes, fears, and ideologies of a time period or community. For example, historical fiction might show how past societies dealt with issues still relevant today.
And, thinking that, he had an idea…
’The things that they had asked in the questions were highly ’past’ oriented.’
Killing a creature just for the sake of doing it, or because he had to do it. Answering questions that are asked of him without any much of a choice or freedom to not answer these questions.
He even associated each of the questions he received with the meaning of ’fiction’ in various cultural perspectives, and thought how something that seemed so undoable to him was simply a normal thing in the past.
His habit of ’being in present’ was not always a good thing as he learned from this experience, and after that, he continued on with the questions while at the same time, thinking about the various truths that he knew about.
’Philosophically, fiction can be analysed as truth and reality itself.’
An important thing to note here is how philosophy he thought of was not the deep concept that is often mistaken as ’philosophy’ but the true Questions that could not possess a certain or set kind of answer.
’While fiction is ’untrue’ in a literal sense, it contains a deeper level of truths about the human experience, morality, and existence.’
Putting biology aside, how does a new life come to life and ’pass away’ from this world?
Putting physics aside, how can one distinguish a truth or a reality from what is ’fiction’?
Also, putting logic aside, why is it that someone, anyone, has certain kinds of internal and external limitations of beliefs, worldly knowledge, even the restrictions of nature?
’Thinking about it… it wasn’t as simple as it might seem at first glance.’
If one questions themselves about the nature of reality, imagination and truth, especially someone like him who had achieved and understood more than one truths of this world, the nature of Nature and the Fictional aspect of a Reality, against their own expectations, raises new questions.
’And those questions were raised in my mind as well…’
There was a six minute timer, but when he started thinking instead of focusing on the exam itself, new thoughts came to my mind… many of which were quite unique in themselves.
’I left the test aside, and instead… took out a book and started writing a few things down.’
He had questions, he had thoughts, and since he had required knowledge as well, he started thinking, questioning, exploring… going even deeper, without Lucy’s help, he somehow fell into a Zone… and from there, he lost track of all the exam questions that were being asked to him, and the timer that was slowly but steadily ticking down.
It was evident to him that Fiction also plays a crucial role in education.
Not only does it help develop literacy, critical thinking, and moral reasoning by engaging ’students’ with complex characters, plotlines, and themes, it also helps with the development of aspects that simply cannot be included in ’Reality’.
These aspects, not being limited to the things that he had experienced in this test, go much deeper in various directions.
’When it comes to teaching, Fiction is used to spark discussions on ethics, history, and human nature, allowing readers to consider perspectives outside their own.’
He did not know what the intentions of the people that created this test was, but at that moment, after getting that ’spark’ and after going into that zone… nothing really mattered to him.
For him, the answer to a simple question was all that he had to find, the question that could be Attributed to the Nature of Fiction itself.
’I thought, I wrote, I don’t really what happened to my test and the questions that were asked of me, but at the end of the three hours that were given to me for the test… I knew one thing.’
Fiction.
It was nothing less real than Reality itself.
’Think about it like this…’
There exists a unique world where the people of that world can enter a different reality, probably a virtual one, or an artificial reality that follows the same rules and has the same Limitations as the original world.
The two worlds are independent even though one is ’made’ by the individuals of the original world if it really is following a certain kind of Way and has a certain kind of Restrictions. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
As long as that world has the qualities of a Reality, it has the Potential to become a Reality.
’Yes it sounds dumb that something that is not real could become real just by following a few rules and having a few restrictions and yes it sounds crazy but, that’s why it Can be called fiction.’
The very reason it can be real is because of the Possibility of it being so fictional that it cannot be real in This reality.
However, as he understood the nature and truth of reality, the nature and truth of origin true energy, as well as the truth of the space time and the Realms that are a direct consequence of this truth, he was also certain that If a possibility so small it can only be understood in fiction is present, it is more likely to become a Separate reality which may or may not be able to interact with its parent reality which it had originally originated from.
’And, yes. Most of it has nothing to do with my exam itself, but this is what I ultimately learned thanks to it.’
And thanks to this… I knew a certain possibility of a certain fictional, hypothetical scenario exists. And its existence is related not only to the questions of actual Genesis, but also to elements that will help me understand the answers of my (Nine final questions).
Regardless, thanks to this utterly undesirable and oppressive test, Lucy was able to unlock a new ability.
’An ability that’s probably going to be quite useful to not just me but all of us in the near future…’
