Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 440 Divisions

'Sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t!' Boken inwardly cursed in panic.

Despite the calm exterior provided by his skill, his interior was utterly chaotic.

He was indeed the most talented individual produced by Horkel City in the past two decades according to the city lord, hence, he was having a hard time accepting that he was losing this badly to a rookie in his first year of professional adventuring.

As for Shye, he also knew that his opponent was merely feigning calmness.

After all, it would be the competitors themselves who knew best what was happening, and he was sure that Boken could tell that he was no match for him.

Still, Shye used appraisal to check his opponent's new attributes.

Then, upon seeing that Boken's warrior attributes only rose by around thirty each, Shye merely sneered in disdain.

'Heh, I should just end this quickly.'

Charging straight towards Boken with a confident smile, Shye brandished both greatswords in a diagonally downward motion, soon after, two white half-moon slash marks fired towards his opponent.

Initially, Boken felt an intense surge of anger well up in his heart upon realizing that his opponent didn't even respect his transformation.

However, after feeling the spine-chilling pressure brought about by Shye's newly learned uncommon-tier skill, his anger vanished, replaced by panic.

Knowing that his other skills didn't have the capability to stop the half-moon slash marks, Boken had no choice but to unleash his other ultimate skill, [(Dark) Unholy Crosscut Lv.3 (Rare)], despite it being the final ace up his sleeves.

Unfortunately, although his skill managed to destroy the slash marks and even continued shooting forward, Shye wasn't in his previous location, seemingly disappearing.

Well, in Boken's eyes, at least, as the crowd clearly saw that Shye teleported above him.

Then, after switching both greatswords to elemental staffs, he rained down a barrage of fire and ice toward his confused opponent.

Boken was no slouch, however, and was able to sense the danger.

Only, he was able to do so when it was already too late.

Looking up, the Infernal Raven member's eyes widened.

"NO!!"

*BOOM!*

Realizing that his opponent had been caught off guard, Shye immediately stopped firing his spell, landing beside the fallen Boken and giving him a full-restoration potion.

Naturally, upon witnessing his classy actions of helping his defeated opponent recover without hesitation, Shye earned the respect of his guildmates.

After all, one could easily be strong and arrogant but rarely do people concern themselves with another's wellbeing.

Especially those who dared oppose one no matter how small the matter was.

On the contrary, Bernal displayed a trashy attitude, just like the trash everyone perceived him to be by leaving in a bad mood without even asking whether the member of their division was fine or not.

His attitude naturally reflects that of his division leader as it was made very clear that incompetence is not tolerated in the Infernal Ravens despite their entire division being incompetent compared to others.

'Eughh…Why would you even join a division like this?' Shye inwardly thought in utter disgust as he looked at the frustrated appearance of his opponent, who looked more exasperated about Bernal's attitude than his defeat.

Nonetheless, a victory is a victory, and Shye ruthlessly seized the coin sack containing 500 gold coins. Though a modest wager compared to what he was accustomed to, he couldn't risk humiliating the division too much, lest the division leader take action.

He was far from ready from being able to handle the wrath of an adamantite-ranked adventurer, newly promoted or not.

Leaving the training hall under the impressed eyes of his guildmates, Shye swiftly headed towards the quest counter.

"Hello, Receptionist Marie, correct?"

"Hello, yes, Sir Crowley. How can I help you?"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"I would like to ask about the benefits of joining a division, the division rankings, and the rankings of their leaders."

"Tch…why don't you just ask me everything in the world then?...?" The receptionist muttered, causing Shye's eyes to widen.

All the receptionists he encountered were approachable, hence, Marie's attitude truly took him by surprise.

"E-Excuse me?"

"Ahh…Yes, Sir Crowley. I shall explain."

This time, Shye was amused.

'This lass sure hates her job…'

"Let me explain the benefits of joining a division first then. Should you choose to join a division, you would be able to use the lounge designated for that specific division. Posted in the division lounges are special quests that are only accessible to the members of that specific quest.

Though, most quests in the division lounges are of rather…low difficulty, except for those posted in the top three divisions, of course."

"Ah, I s–"

Before Shye could even acknowledge that he understood what the rude receptionist said, Marie had already begun the explanation for the division rankings.

"In terms of division rankings, the Black Raven Division is ranked third, the Raven Destroyers Division is second, and the top-ranked division is the Mythical Raven Heroes Division. Given your status, I assume only the top three are of interest to you."

"Lastly, the rankings of the division leaders as individual adventurers are the same as the rankings of their divisions."

Nodding in acknowledgment, an intriguing question suddenly popped up in Shye's mind.

"I see, what if I create my own division? Do I get anything in return?"

"Yes, however, only if your division ranks in the top twenty of the entire Valenzia City rankings"

"I see, how could a division raise its rankings then?"

"Sigh…you want to know a lot, Sir Crowley. Every two months, the rankings would reset and the division with the highest guild contribution points would naturally rank the highest."

"I see, thank you."

Despite the rude treatment, Shye thanked Marie, who suddenly left the quest counter after another receptionist entered through the main door.

"Haaah, finally done with that bullcrap of a punishment," Marie exclaimed as she stretched, changing into the attire of a scout-class adventurer shortly after.

'W-What? So she's not a receptionist? Explains why she's so rude…'
