Eternal life begins with saving my clan

Chapter 407 The Prime Minister Vs Celestial Heavenly Store

The Clear Wind City was still abuzz with the news of the soldiers' sudden arrival and the City Lord's unusually respectful behavior.

"Do you know who that was?"

"How would I know? But I presume it must be someone important."

"Of course, it was someone important. But just how important is the question."

"Such a strong force can only come from one place—the Imperial Capital."

People gathered in twos and threes on the streets, discussing the latest events. In taverns and restaurants, it was the hottest topic.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

While the people were still wondering about the identity of the powerful force, a squad of soldiers marched through the streets in a particular direction.

Seeing this, pedestrians made way for them, while those in teahouses and restaurants widened their eyes, wondering what was going on.

Quickly, a crowd began to follow the soldiers, their curiosity piqued.

"Could they be heading to the Celestial Heavenly Store?" one man in the crowd asked in disbelief.

"Impossible! Why would they go to the Celestial Heavenly Store?" another man retorted, shaking his head.

To everyone's surprise, the soldiers stopped in front of the Celestial Heavenly Store and arrogantly marched in, pushing anyone in their path aside.

Inside the store, many people were patiently waiting to purchase the Spirit Comms when the soldiers barged in. Instantly, the atmosphere changed, thickening with tension.

"Listen, everyone! This store has been seized. From this moment onward, it is the kingdom's property, belonging to the King," the squad captain shouted, his intimidating aura erupting.

Ordinary people closest to him fell to the ground, their faces contorted in fear.

"You have one minute to vacate the premises immediately. As for the officials of this store, they must remain for questioning."

Without giving anyone time to process what was happening, the captain signaled his men to head upstairs, determined to prevent the upper echelon from escaping.

Outside, the curious crowd was stunned by what they heard.

"How could this happen?" they thought, confusion marring their faces.

"Since when does the king have the right to seize someone else's property?" a young man asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.

"This isn't seizing; it's outright theft," a middle-aged man replied, shaking his head. "With the growing influence of the Spirit Comms, it was only a matter of time before the greedy officials from the Imperial Capital tried to take it over."

"But this is the king we're talking about," a lady interjected, her face contorted with anger.

"What can we do? This is the end of the store," another man lamented.

As the people continued discussing the Celestial Heavenly Store's apparent misfortune, three severed heads suddenly flew out of the store entrance, splattering blood on the bystanders.

"What the…" A man wiped blood from his face, ready to curse, but froze when he saw the three heads rolling on the street. The words stuck in his throat.

The rowdy crowd collectively held their breath, their faces frozen in shock as silence descended like a heavy blanket.

Just when they thought it was over, two more heads flew out of the store.

"Huh!"

The crowd gasped, their spines drenched in cold sweat. From the corner of their eyes, they glanced at the store, now unnervingly quiet.

Terrifying.

From deep within the store, a chilling voice echoed.

"Those who threaten the store will pay with their lives."

Whoosh!

A powerful gust of wind burst from the store, tossing the soldiers' headless bodies out into the street.

For a moment, no one spoke. The silence was deafening, akin to a graveyard at midnight. Finally, a trembling old man broke the stillness.

"They're… all dead?!"

Of course, they were. The crowd screamed internally but dared not voice their thoughts.

These were elite soldiers, with the weakest among them being master martial artists and their captain an expert martial artist.

Yet, they were slaughtered like ants.

Slowly, the crowd began to disperse, carrying countless rumors. Word of the incident spread like wildfire.

When the powerful clans heard the news, they were stunned.

The Wu clan sighed in relief, while the three antagonistic clans were left in dismay. These were veteran soldiers—how could they be killed so easily?

Despite their shock, the clan masters maintained their composure, awaiting the City Lord Mansion's response.

Inside the mansion, the Prime Minister sat in the main hall, his expression one of cold indifference.

He had just received news of his men being killed like ants. Yet, instead of showing rage, he maintained his lofty demeanor and turned to the three Half-Step Grandmasters standing before him.

"Leave no one alive," he ordered, his voice low and dripping with killing intent.

Whoosh!

The three Half-Step Grandmasters vanished without a trace, their speed so swift that even the Clear Wind City Lord was left in shock.

"Why do I feel like a fake Half-Step Grandmaster?" he thought, his face pale with fear. "I wouldn't even know how I died if I became the Prime Minister's enemy."

Shivering, he pushed the unnecessary thoughts from his mind and instead focused on imagining the Celestial Heavenly Store's imminent destruction.

Outside, the people were still buzzing about the soldiers' deaths, eagerly discussing the shocking events. Suddenly, a terrifying killing intent descended over the city's central district.

The central district contained three Celestial Heavenly Stores, the largest in the city. The deadly aura sent shivers through the spines of everyone present, leaving them to wonder what was happening.

Suddenly, a massive black palm materialized in the sky. The aura from the attack suppressed all weaker martial artists in the vicinity.

"What's that?!"

"Whose palm is that?"

"It's going to destroy the Celestial Heavenly Store!"

"This is the end of the store!"

The crowd cried out in alarm. For many, this was their first time witnessing such a terrifying attack, and they couldn't fathom how the store could survive.

"Look!" a young man shouted, pointing at an old man in the distance.

It was one of the Half-Step Grandmasters, the mastermind behind the black palm attack. Killing hundreds of people inside the store was nothing to him, and he couldn't wait to complete his mission.

However, before the palm could descend upon the store, a terrifying sword light erupted from within, slicing through the dense palm attack as if it were paper.

But that wasn't the end. The sword light continued its trajectory, racing toward its target at an unimaginable speed.

"Danger!" the old man screamed inwardly.

Without hesitation, he prepared to execute his movement skill to escape, only to witness a nightmare unfold before his eyes.
