X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 119: Deja Vu

Chapter 119: Deja Vu

After some time, Jason and the others finished clearing up all the misunderstandings. Jason and Laude then informed the crowd surrounding the house, and upon knowing that it was only a misunderstanding, the crowd then slowly dispersed. It appeared that their worries had been wasted. It really was a pity.

On the other hand, after learning some good lessons from Jason, Charley finally made up her mind that she would definitely be strong enough. She might not be able to do it now, but she would definitely do it eventually.

The Life was satisfied with this. He was expecting that Charley would still need some more time to accept the reality but from the looks of it now, he could tell that Charley was starting to accept it. So then, after finishing what he needed to do, The Life bid farewell to all of them.

The Life told them that he would sleep for a while and stay on Jim's body. Charley was shocked at first but she still nodded in the end. From the looks of it, The Life would keep observing and guarding her son until he grew. Charley was really happy with that. It seemed like there was no need for her to worry about her son's safety.

But before The Life could even enter Jim's body for a good sleep, The Life informed Charley about something crucial. He told her that beating up her son would be a good thing for the other party. The more her son suffered, injured, or put into near-death experiences, the more and faster the power of life in him would grow stronger. So giving her son some good beatings as a daily routine was really not that bad.

Of course, The Life left the choice to Charley. Whether the other party would do it or not was all up to her. After all, she was his mother. A mother should at least know what was good and what was not for her son.

Upon knowing it, Charley fell speechless. How was beating up her son could be a good thing? She would definitely not do something like that to her own son! Definitely not!

Or at least that was what she planned to do.

Only Laude was happy upon hearing that the more his grandson Jim suffered from beatings or even in near-death experiences, the more the other party would grow stronger, especially to the power of life.

At that moment, Laude made up his mind that he should be the one that would train Jim to the best thing he could do.

Charley was yet again speechless to this. Even Jason could only sigh deeply to this tyrannical grandfather. Nonetheless, he didn't meddle in their affairs as he just decided to go to the crowds outside the house to clear up the misunderstandings.

Laude saw the other party leaving as he knew where the other party would go. That being said, he suppressed his happiness and went to the crowd as well to apologize to them. He really had caused that much trouble this time.

After the two disappeared in the room, Charley was then left alone. The Life then finally entered baby Jim's body for him to sleep.

Charley then shifted her gaze to the window. She sighed deeply hoping for her husband to come back already. Because it was really pointless now to take back their son!

She was just lamenting that her husband had gone to chase after their son only to realize later that their son was a vessel of a demon. She was really worried about how her husband would possibly react if the other party learned about the fate of their sons.

Time ran slowly and all the Hunters finally went to their allocated lodgings. That night should be the celebration for Joe's children but due to certain circumstances, the celebration was held.

Nonetheless, they all decided to stay their night at the village and see if the celebration would continue tomorrow. But since Joe was not there, it was very unlikely to happen. They couldn't just celebrate while Joe was not there, right? Even if they celebrate, it would only appear that they would fake each other's happiness since their heart was not in there.

And they all knew that Joe hated that kind of counterfeit celebration just to deceive themselves that they were happy. His close relatives knew this full well, especially Charley. That being said, it was more likely to happen that she would hold the banquet as she would decide to celebrate their son's birthday once Joe came back.

The many Hunters invited by Joe thought about this as most of them had decided to leave the village tomorrow.

Everyone in there knew that clearing an SS-rank dungeon would take few days to do. And that was only for the many Hunters combining their strength to clear the dungeon.

But Joe was all alone! They guessed that even if the other party cleared the dungeon, it would take him few weeks to accomplish. All of them didn't have that much time to spare to wait for the celebration. After all, most of them was an important figure in their own groups.

That being said, they decided to only stay the night in the village and then go home tomorrow. They all just prepared a speech to apologized to Charley for not attending the celebration.

Meanwhile...

It was already past midnight and there was still someone standing just below the red portal. From the looks of it, he was already there for a long time now. He was gazing at the portal, and from the looks of it, he wasn't planning to retract his gaze.

Only his faint silhouette was revealed under the moonlight as the cold presence of the wind kept embracing him.

"You came son," Suddenly, another person appeared right behind him. The other party immediately greeted him the moment he arrived, "Are you here for a long time now?"

From the looks of it, the one who had just arrived was actually, Laude Jabat!

The man, however, didn't bother himself to turn around to see who had just come. He didn't even retract his gaze at the portal as he responded, "I just arrived, father."

Laude knew full well that the sense of time of this son of his was really slow so even though the other party said that he had just arrived, Laude could tell that he was already there for a couple of hours already.

"Why don't you come inside first to have some chat with me. We haven't talked for a while you know." Laude had just invited the other party to have some chat as he added, "Besides, don't you want to see your nephew?"

"..." The man didn't reply for a while before he finally responded, "I will wait for Kuya."

"So you plan to stand there for a couple of weeks?" Laude didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He knew that the sense of time of the other party was slow, and few weeks only seemed few days for him. But still, it was not appropriate for him to just stand there right? Although it only felt like few days for the other party, it was still long enough.

"We'll see..." The man replied making Laude sigh deeply. He was too focused on watching the red portal making him appear that he wasn't listening to Laude at all.

Laude then gave up as he decided to let the other party do what he wished.

However, at that moment, Laude's head suddenly hurt a bit as he held it with his right hand. Was this a deja vu? Laude felt that this scene had already happened before. It was just that he wasn't too sure about it.

What was going on now? Laude shook his head as what he felt right now was strange. It really was much different from the usual deja vu he felt before. As if it really happened before.

As he was thinking about it, something like a fragment of memories came into his mind. He saw his son Joe coming out from the portal. But when the other party came out, he brought chaos resulting in all of them to worry in their hardest.

Just what's happening to me?! Laude's heart hastened its beat. He then narrowed his eyes as he fixed his gaze at the portal while waiting for the fragment of memory that he saw in his mind to happen already.

But after a good while, nothing happened. He then tilted his head slightly sideways before he finally calmed down and heaved a sigh of relief.

It seemed like he was just imagining things. Was he that worried about his son to the point that he was now thinking about something scary? Laude couldn't help but ponder what his son was doing right now. He was just hoping that his son could come back in the fastest time possible.
