Chapter 175: Chapter 171: The President



[3rd POV]

After teleporting off, Talia had almost instantly reappeared in the DEO. Her appearance

caused several agents to jump in fright, before sighing as they realized that it was just Solaris. The hero had made frequent appearances in the DEO, and greatly enjoyed scaring them whenever she had the chance.

At the sudden appearance of Talia, Kara's eyes widened before grinning "Solaris! You're here!"

"Well yeah, I couldn't miss out on meeting the President" Talia replied with an amused smirk on her face, hidden by her mask. She had genuinely been interested in meeting the President of the USA in this world, knowing that she was, in fact, an alien. She was a Durlan, a rather interesting little species that had super strength, durability, and shapeshifting.

"S-Solaris" A woman gasped out, as Talia turned. She smiled underneath her mask as she looked at the President of the United States in this world, Olivia Marsdin. The woman looked at her in barely hidden awe, as Talia smiled.

"It's nice to formally meet you, Miss President" Talia spoke as she reached her hand out, shaking the woman's hand as the woman enthusiastically took it.

"It's an honor to meet you as well, Miss Solaris" The woman responded, a smile on her face as the others looked at her in surprise. It was quite obvious that the woman seemingly looked up to Solaris, or at the very least, was a fan of hers.

"I hear you're planning on passing a law regarding accepting aliens, right?" Talia asked, knowing the answer. The law in question was known as the "Alien Amnesty Bill" that would grant aliens the same rights as a human within the United States. A bill that Talia was quite fond of, knowing that in a world like this one, it was needed. It would be taken advantage of by certain aliens, but all laws and bills are taken advantage of, so it makes little difference.

"I certainly am. Am I right to assume that you are happy about that?" She asked as Talia nodded.

"I am. It will go a long way for the relationship between Earth and the Greater Universe. And while there certainly will be bad apples who will take advantage of this new bill you're passing, all laws and bills are taken advantage of. So don't let people change your decision, especially not a bunch of arrogant and greedy politicians, no offense" Talia replied, as the woman chuckled.

"None taken. And...I am glad that you support my bill, Solaris, that truly does make a huge difference"

"Really? I know that Solaris is popular, but you think that her aid would make a difference?" Alex asked, at these words, the President looked at Alex, before responding.

"Solaris is perhaps the most popular and well known hero in the world, with only Superman himself being as popular, if not more. That popularity is worldwide, and with her stamp of approval, would mean wonders for the passing of this bill in not only the United States, but in other countries. I know that our friends over in the UK are interested in the idea, and Solaris would make an incredible difference" The President responded, as it dawned on Alex what sort of effect Talia could potentially have on this whole situation.

"So a single word of approval from Solaris is enough to change things, I guess I underestimated just how much reach she had" Alex muttered, genuinely forgetting just how much power Talia truly had. Talia's influence over the world was massive, and it was only continuing to grow as her popularity began to rise all over the world, and even the greater universe once she began to truly travel throughout it.

"Now, as much as I'd love to continue speaking with all of you, I have rather annoying politics to deal with" The President said after one of the people that was walking alongside her, whispered into her ear, involving the attack against her.

"Talia, you really are popular if even the President is your fan!" Kara exclaimed, awed by the fact that her girlfriend even had the president as one of her fans. But when you're an alien saving millions, other aliens tend to flock to your side, or at least look up to you.

"Don't cut yourself short, love, you're plenty popular as well" Talia responded with a smile. Kara blushed at the praise from her girlfriend, before J'onn cut in.

"Why support such a law? The aliens from around the universe will use it to prey upon the humans of Earth, making our job harder than it already is" J'onn asked Talia, wanting to know why she of all people would support a law that could potentially make the world worse, and allow for more and more cruel and evil aliens to approach Earth.

"Because while it will bring more aliens that could harm humankind, it could also prove to be an incredible boon for the world. The laws of this world are already being taken advantage of by normal humans, Aliens won't be much of a difference, besides them being...more unique looking, and a potential higher threat level. Nothing I can't handle though" Talia responded, knowing that while it would cause some problems in the beginning, that wouldn't be a problem with her being there to take care of any of the bad apples.

"...I still believe it is a bad idea. The aliens of this universe can be...incredibly cruel, and a species as young as Humans cannot handle that cruelty, not yet. Even with the aid of you two and Superman, that battle will be a steep and dangerous one" J'onn replied, he knew that Talia was right, mostly. But he also knew that the species of this universe were not all good, and many of them were horribly cruel, the White Martians being one of the worst, he should know.

"That is fine, J'onn, I'll be there every step of the way. I am immortal after all, and with my clones, helping the human race with such a thing will be easy enough" Talia said, waving away his worries. The man had a reason to be nervous about the idea, but Talia was more than powerful enough to deal with just about anything in this universe.

"And what about finding the ones that can shapeshift?" Alex couldn't help but ask. A LOT of aliens had the ability to shapeshift forms, taking on human ones, and other similar shapes. This gave them the ability to come to Earth and perfectly blend in. But once you add in something like the acceptance of these aliens, things would get a whole lot harder, as more and more shapeshifting aliens begin to move to Earth.

"I can sense them easily" Talia said, instantly dismissing that worry. She knew that Lena Luthor was planning on making a technology that could identify aliens, but that technology was...not a good idea, not even remotely. It would lead to the deaths of a lot of aliens, and a lot of negative side effects.

"Can we not argue about this, please?" Kara cut in, causing Talia to stop and look to her. "I'm not arguing, love, just pointing out the facts" Talia replied with a small smile as Kara rolled her eyes, before glancing down at the clock, her eyes widening.

"Oh crap! I've gotta go! I have my first interview as a reporter! Or, my first in this universe at least!" Kara exclaimed, ready to race off in order to meet with Lena Luthor herself.

Hearing this, Talia slowly smirked and spoke.

"This interview...can I come along?"

"Um, sure? I don't see why not!" Kara replied, a little confused on why Talia would want to

come with her, but she wasn't opposed to it.

Talia on the other hand, inwardly had one thought on her mind.

'Time to formally meet Lena Luthor'

Yet again, the quality wasn't good, and the chapter came late, but...I feel like shit still, so this

is the best I could do.

I hope to be better soon, but idk how long it'll be, until then, the quality won't be the best. But the next chapter should be a bit better, as by the time I write that, I'll be a lot better.
