Chapter 175: 175:So, Violence It Is!
Outside, the atmosphere was filled with tension. The tribal people, who had their expressions mixed with confusion and aggression, stood in a tight circle, glaring at the outsiders in their peculiar black suits. The village women, their voices laced with worry and frustration, questioned their men about their support for Evan and his companions.
The men who had returned remained silent, helplessness was evident on their faces and the other men who were holding bows and spears were on guard while also demanding answers from those who had just returned.
Among the group of black-suited individuals, Suri removed her tactical helmet briefly.
Her eyes, filled with concern, looked out at Evan in the distance. She glanced back at the tribal people, noting their varied states of well-being. Some appeared malnourished, their clothes hanging loosely, while others were more robust and seemingly healthier.
Despite the bad conditions, it can't be said that they were living a bad life.
Just then, the loud blast of the war horn pierced the air.
"Huh! What's going on…" Suri's words were cut off as she swiftly flicked her wrist, deflecting an incoming arrow with the metal guards on her wrist.
"Take cover!" she shouted to the bodyguards, her sharp voice filled with urgency.
The tribal villagers, now fully hostile, began to unleash a volley of arrows at the outsiders. The arrows whizzed through the air, landing dangerously close.
Big Mac, always vigilant, moved to shield Suri. He stood in front of her, blocking incoming arrows using his large frame, while the rest of the team scrambled for cover behind the nearby cottages.
Amidst the chaos, the barrage of arrows abruptly ceased. A commotion erupted as the tribal warriors found themselves under attack.
The attackers were from none other than part of the tribe who had gone missing and were now engaged in a violent clash, causing confusion to spread through them.
"What's happening?" one of the tribal men shouted as he was pushed aside by a fellow warrior.
"They're turning on us!" another cried, his eyes wide with confusion and disbelief.
Suri peeked from behind Big Mac, her expression becoming stern.
"They're fighting amongst themselves. Let's go, we can't miss this opportunity."
As the internal conflict spiraled out of control, the men whose minds had been rewired by Aurora responded to Evan's orders. They moved swiftly, positioning themselves strategically to contain the escalating violence.
Taking the opportunity, Suri darted into the fray.
Her eyes scanned the chaotic battlefield, identifying targets with swift efficiency. She spotted an opponent with a raised spear and with a burst of speed, she leaped into the air. Her body twisted mid-flight before she wrapped her legs around the man's neck and used her momentum to hurl him aside. The fellow crashed into a group of attackers, disrupting their formation.
While Suri executed her aerial maneuver, Big Mac charged forward with his immense strength.
He barreled into a cluster of tribal warriors, the sheer force sending them sprawling. His massive arms swung with powerful, deliberate movements, each strike sending an opponent crashing to the ground. He used his size to his advantage, pushing through the melee to carve a path for his allies.
Meanwhile, Suri weaved through the chaos by ducking and dodging sharp spear tips as they whizzed past her, thanks to her fluid and evasive movements.
When one warrior lunged at her with a spear, she sidestepped gracefully and countered with a spinning kick, sending him stumbling backwards.
Despite his bulky size, Big Mac moved with surprising agility. He swatted away spears with powerful swipes of his arms and absorbed blows with his solid frame. When an opponent tried to flank him, he pivoted quickly, using his sheer mass to block their advance and slam them into the ground.
All around them, chaos reigned. Tribal warriors clashed violently with one another, their cries of battle mixing with the sounds of combat. The air was thick with the smell of sweat and fear, and the ground was littered with fallen warriors and scattered weapons, creating a disordered battlefield.
In the midst of the melee, Suri's sharp eyes and quick reflexes allowed her to navigate through the chaos, striking down opponents with precise strikes. She ducked under a swinging spear, rolled to the side, and delivered a powerful kick to a nearby warrior. Her movements were a blend of grace and lethal efficiency while her body was a blur as she fought.
As the fight ranged on, Suri's voice rang out above the clamor. "Stay on your guard! They're trying to surround us!"
She ducked under another spear and countered with a swift kick. "They're not giving up easily! We need to push through and break their formation!"
Spotting a group of tribal warriors trying to regroup, she shouted, "Mac, they're trying to encircle us! We need to split their forces!"
As an opponent lunged at her from behind, she spun and deflected the attack. "We can't let them overwhelm us! Keep moving and stay defensive!"
Seeing Big Mac struggling with a particularly stubborn opponent, Suri called out, "Mac, I've got your back! Just hold them off a bit longer!"
Mac was taken aback by the sheer strength of his opponent. The massive tribal man fought wildly, resisting every attempt to be subdued. They were ordered to knock these people out and not hurt them, but despite Mac's numerous attempts, the man stood his ground.
The man's raw brute force was almost unnatural. At one point, he even saw the fellow punch a part of the trunk of a tree, causing it to chip, creating a small dent, something that was quite absurd according to him.
However, just then, a shadow suddenly appeared from behind Big Mac's opponent. Suri moved swiftly, her movements sharp and precise. She leapt into the air, using Mac's back as leverage, wrapping her legs around a tribal warrior's neck, and tossing him aside. Her landing was seamless, and she spun around to face the next wave of attackers.
Suri dodged a spear by quickly side-stepping and delivering a kick to another warrior, sending him stumbling. She used her agility to dodge blows and strike opponents with rapid, accurate hits. Her smooth and relentless movements made her a difficult target as she continued to take down her enemies.
Amidst all the chaos, Suri's eyes stayed sharp, focusing on every new threat. She rolled to avoid an attack and delivered powerful kicks that kept her enemies at bay. Her speed and skill made her almost a blur in the fight, efficiently taking down anyone who came too close.
_____
Inside, Evan stood across the tribal chief and stared at the man while clicking his tongue impatiently.
"So, the violence it is."
"Useless banter…I know it's hard to communicate with you a lot..."
Evan faced the tribal chief, with a wide grin as if somehow he expected the situation.
The chief's gaze was unwavering, a mixture of anger and defiance. Tired of the chief's resistance, Evan decided to take action.
Without warning, he lunged forward and threw a powerful punch at the chief. The man reacted quickly, sidestepping the blow and avoiding the punch. He moved with surprising agility for his age, but this didn't deter Evan. He twisted his wrist and aimed a quick and precise strike at the chief's neck with a choke.
The impact hit hard, and the chief staggered, momentarily disoriented, but after a moment, he regained his composure and pounced on Evan with wild energy.
Despite his age, the chief was quite quick.
Evan pressed his advantage, moving in with calculated precision. He delivered a series of swift, targeted blows, each strike landing with firm and decisive impact. The chief tried to defend himself, but Evan's relentless assault left no room for retaliation.
Although the tribal chief managed to block a few of Evan's strikes, he was quickly overwhelmed by the speed and force behind Evan's attacks. With one final and decisive punch, Evan knocked the chief to the ground. The chief lay on the floor, gasping and beaten.
Evan stood over him, his expression cold and resolute. "This is how we settle things in the outside world. Accept it or face more of the same."
Weakened and dazed, the tribal chief could only glare up at Evan knowing that the fight had already come to an end.
Before the chief could resist, Evan pulled out a VR gear from his backpack firmly planted it on the chief's head, and said, "Aurora, do your magic."
