The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 167: 167:Noah Shocked, Evan Rocked

The sound of shattering glass echoed through the hall as Noah's fist crashed into the monitor, sending shards of the glass scattering across the floor.

His face was flushed with both anger and confusion.

"How is this possible?" he bellowed, his voice filled with frustration. "How could both cars be linked to Ken and Evan? This doesn't make sense."

Caught in confusion, Noah barely registered the officers' actions. Ken was taken into custody, while his protests were falling on deaf ears.

With Ken now under arrest, the focus had now shifted to him.

Hours later, the grim reality of the legal proceedings set in. Noah found himself in the police station, facing charges that seemed to stem from a mix of confusing evidence. The cops tried to trace the source of the evidence but failed.

His father eventually stepped in, and using his connections and financial resources, he arranged a team of skilled lawyers to secure Noah's release. The lawyers worked diligently, navigating the legal system to secure his bail, but not without a hefty amount of bribe for him to be set free.

Soon, he was bailed out, leaving the pleading and crying Ken alone in the prison.

Back at the mansion, Sonalia's expression twisted with a mixture of concern and frustration. She found Noah pacing back and forth, his face flushed with anger.

"What's going on? How is this possible?" she demanded, her voice trembling.

Noah looked at her, his eyes betraying to hide the depth of his confusion. "The video shows Ken arriving in one black Maybach, and then another car arriving afterwards. It makes no sense! Why would there be two Maybachs, and why would the footage be so misleading? I have seen the footage and was certain that Evan appeared first in that place. So how could this be?"

"Unless he…" Noah paused at the conclusion, grappling with the grim realization. He knew that it was possible but he just couldn't bring himself to believe that Evan could have extended his hands that far.

Noah had personally seen Evan stepping out of the car, where later, his men put the drugs. In fact, he had been planning this since the moment Evan purchased the car.

Every car dealer in BBSR was under their control, so when Evan purchased the Maybach, the automobile dealer had already made a duplicate key. So after Evan left, Noah's men used it to open the car.

Secondly, how did the key end up in Ken's hands?

And if this wasn't worse, many videos of Noah breaking laws and committing violence had been spread all around.

Master Hacker…that Evan, who Noah always saw under his foot, seemed to have transformed into a giant.

Sonalia's brows furrowed as she tried to piece together all the information. "Why don't you ask the Mercedes dealers? I am sure they would have left a piece of evidence from where the car was brought…"

Noah, still reeling from the shock, ran a hand through his hair. "I did… The man who brought it had a fake ID, which can't be traced and the person's face doesn't match any recognition. Maybe that guy must have been in disguise."

"What about the money? Can't you trace it through the bank," Sonalia pressed.

"That too isn't possible," Noah shook his head and added, "the payment was made in full cash."

With the help of his father's legal connections, Noah had been released on bail, but the complications only deepened his frustration.

He rewatched the footage, desperately trying to spot any discrepancies or hidden clues that could explain the situation.

Sensing Noah's distress, Sonalia placed a comforting hand on his shoulder and spoke with a chilling voice, "Noah, there isn't any need to waste any more time. Let's just get rid of him."

Noah's body stiffened and he stared at Sonalia solemnly, "What did you say?"

"Kill him…"

"But, we don't have that kind of enmity…"

"NOAHHHH!!" Sonia shouted and grasped both of his arms tightly.

"If you want to rise, you need to be fierce, resolute, and ruthless. Only then can you climb higher with Rajput backing… And can't you see how Evan is climbing up faster than ever? He isn't an insect anymore. You can't keep ignoring him, not anymore."

Noah's heart shook and his eyes trailed off.

Pieces of memory of Evan began to surface in Noah's mind. Despite once calling Evan as good as an insect, that 'insect' had been a persistent nuisance to him.

In all his life, it was the first time when someone of a lower class dared to reject him—refusing to try to please him. Evan's arrogant and aloof demeanor had always irked him.

Though it seemed like Noah had let him go, he had been secretly pulling several strings as far as going to isolate him. In fact, Noah was also the reason behind Evan's frequent job changes, and he even bribed the professors to lower Evan's marks.

Why?

Because he wanted to see Evan being pushed to the corner and beg before him, making him know his place.

He only backed off after hearing about the accident and the Suri case.

He thought this was the end for Evan, but…

Taking a deep breath, Noah calmed himself. His calm eyes masked the terrific storm brewing within him.

"I have had enough. Let's just get rid of him once and for all."

With that, Noah picked up his phone and decided to call the underground mafia.

Someone he was quite familiar with.

"Hello, Amon!"

_____

In a bar located on the outskirts of the city, where grime seemed to coat every surface and the air reeked with the smell of stale beer and smoke.

In a dimly lit corner, a burly man sat at a wooden table, nursing a drink. His rugged face was partially hidden beneath a worn hat, and the faint light falling on him revealed a long scar that ran down his cheek.

The man's phone buzzed on the table, its screen lighting up with the name "Noah."

He glanced at it and answered with a gruff tone. "Amon here."

"Hello, Amon," Noah's voice crackled through the receiver. "I hope I'm not catching you at a bad time."

"Not at all," Amon replied, his voice smooth but edged with suspicion beneath the surface. "Always a pleasure to hear from you, Sir Noah. What can I do for you?"

Noah's tone grew serious. "I have got a job for you. Something that requires your… expertise."

Amon raised an eyebrow. "Go on."

"There's a man named Evan. He has become quite a nuisance, and I need him to be dealt with. You take care of this, and there will be a substantial reward waiting for you. I'm talking about a sum you couldn't refuse."

Amon's eyes narrowed. "And how much are we talking about?"

Noah's voice was calm but firm. "200 million rupees. Cash. Delivered to your door."

Amon's eyes widened. The offer was indeed too good to be passed. "Consider it done. I'll take care of it."

"Excellent," Noah said, a note of satisfaction in his voice. "I'll be in touch once it's finished. Don't disappoint me, Amon."

As Amon prepared to hang up, he heard a faint noise behind him, making the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. He sharply spun around, his hand instinctively reaching for his weapon, but just as he did, he found a cold barrel pressed against his forehead.

"It's been a long time, Amon, hasn't it.."

A chilling voice, just as cold as the barrel on his head came from behind. "Amon, I suggest you put the phone down and think very carefully about your next move."

Amon's heart raced as he stared at the shadowy figure towering over him. His mind raced through numerous potential scenarios. But with the gun held steady on his head, Amon knew he had little chance of overpowering his unknown adversary.

"Don't shoot… Let's sit down and talk. There's no grievance that can't be settled with a conversation."
