Chapter 126: [Creating a settlement!]
[Adrian's POV!]
I gained a lot from this tutorial. Especially at the end where I received a lot of GM points. The bet itself gave me a huge amount of GM Points, and I wondered if I should save a lot of it so that in the next tutorial, I could gain a lot more later. It was a viable idea, and I had already planned to have at least 10 Billion GM Points for the next bet.
'Though that is something for later,' I thought as I looked at the empty grassland in front of me. I had a couple of ideas for the settlement but first…
"Are you going to watch me create the entire thing? Aren't you busy with being the Soul of the first floor or something?" I asked as I looked at Nora who was excitedly walking beside me. Her eyes were gleaming at everything that I was doing.
Wasn't really annoying but still it was concerning given the position that she holds. Is she allowed to have a break for this long?
"It's alright. Clair is smart. It will be a bit hard for her, but she should be able to find her ways to manage the floor without me. In the first place, I never wanted to do it anyways… just that Clair was the only one who remembered me all this time, so I had to at least maintain a friendly relation with her, or else, I might end up being too lonely," Nora spoke as her expression turned solemn in the end.
Well, I guess she had her own situation.
"All right. Since you are gonna be here, help me out a bit then," I spoke as I created an [Illusion] of a small settlement that contained roughly 4-6 apartments that could hold 50 to 60 players, a few restaurants and a couple of shops selling weapons and items. There were wooden walls around the area, a town post and a few other things that a small settlement should have.
Other than the bare minimum, there was one more facility, the most important one, was a Transportation Circle, that I was going to create using my [Teleportation Point], and making a few changes that allows the users to travel through it at the cost of a few points.
It was my idea of connecting the two worlds with the safe zone, and perhaps creating even more settlements that are connected to each other throughout the twin worlds. I mean, traveling all the way from the safe zone to the rift would take days, and then there were questions about the safety as well.
Not everyone was capable of killing B-Grade monsters on their own.
"I don't like the look of those apartments. They aren't fancy enough, too rigid for my taste," Nora spoke out her opinion, while I nodded at her. I just gave out a basic 5 stories apartment with each floor holding 2-3 rooms. It was similar to the apartments back in my hometown, so I thought it would give a basic foundation to the ideas that I and Nora had.
"What kind of apartments do you prefer?" I asked as I looked at her, at which she pondered for a brief moment before answering,
"Something that gives people relief? A place where they can relax, maybe? Like the safe zone… Do you think you can create something like that?"
A barrier maybe possible?
"As for the houses… is it necessary to create such big apartments? Can't we create something smaller? I honestly don't like the idea of so many people living in a single building," Nora then added a few more of her ideas into the construction.
"We aren't limited to space, and we can even increase the size of the place. It's not difficult, but I wanted something that can later expand into a city, and further into a kingdom if required," I spoke out as I looked at the area behind the rift.
The rift was a simple 'gate' that connected the two places. One can even think of it as a portal that connected that first floor to the two worlds. So, my idea of creating a settlement was to create the entire thing around the rift as a center.
"Something that can be expanded into a kingdom, huh? How about building a town center first? Maybe we can make it just around the rift and then we can surround the rift with something to protect it? Later that town center can expand into a town hall, and then into a castle?" Nora added some nice ideas into it, while I totally agreed with her.
There was a river nearby, and on the other side of the rift, on the first floor, there was a waterfall as well. Maybe I can make some natural attractions while I am at it? Though it would hinder a couple of ideas that I had thought previously.
My idea revolved around the points that both the cities should look similar in every aspect, maybe I can also add a couple of differences so that people don't get confused on which planet/floor they are?
"Hmmm. Make the Town Center a bit bigger, and keep an open space," Nora then took command as she guided me in creating the settlement. Most of the things were going to be rebuilt, so it was fine to let her do what she wanted. But still, it wasn't like she didn't have any idea of what she was doing.
So for the most part, this was surely going to serve as a foundation of the kingdom that I was going to create in the future. As for the cost of creation, I honestly had no idea how much energy was going to be required to create all these buildings.
'I could only hope, it's something I can afford,' I sighed as I knew that I was going to need to find another way of increasing my total energy permanently. After all, creating something out of nothing was certainly going to cost a lot.
