The Black Necromancer

Chapter 555: Ushering in a New Era

Michael smirked when he felt the envious gazes of several Major Gods on him. The powerful aura radiated from his figure showed how much his bets on Leon had paid off. All the feedback of Leon's amazing deeds directly pushed up the level of his power, allowing him to reach the peak of the Major God stage in record time.

"He actually did it." Dardan laughed as he stood between Fazir and Michael. The Beast God was mainly neutral, but he had always leaned in support of Michael and Leon.

"I knew he could-" Michael started.

"Bah! Shut up! It was just a bold gamble and it played out in your favor." Dardan cut him off with a loud laugh.

Beside them, Fazir stood with an incomprehensible look on his face. On Michael's other side, Asteria had a smirk pasted over her face. She was glad that her lover's level had reached and even surpassed hers.

All the Major Gods present could feel it in the air. A new Era had come, ushered in by Leon. It was an era similar to the previous Era of Gods, where Gods were deeply intertwined in the affairs of the mortal world. But it was also different, in that they were not there to suppress anymore. The calamity that had nearly befallen Datar had opened their eyes.

They needed to allow a path for more powerful beings like them to emerge. The Ace Candidate program that they had set up had yielded results, with powerful Gods like Dyson and the others coming into power, but the little time that they had did not allow these powerful entities to display their full prowess and potential.

Then there was the anomaly - Leon. Leon's rise to power was absurd. Even with suppression from every side, he kept on coming up on top. His power grew by leaps and bounds each time he overcame a new challenge. He was simply just unstoppable. And in the end, he had come to surpass all of them.

Not even the few True Gods that had emerged from Datar millennia ago seemed to actually be his match.

Leon's rise had shaken the Gods out of their relaxed attitude toward the mortals. The fact that he had done so well, and ended up saving their world had allowed some of the more arrogant Gods to become more mellow and humble. They were grateful for his actions and how he had saved Datar, making them view him in a positive light compared to before.

A strange mood settled upon the various Major Gods who were gathered there. They were the ones who set the trend normally, but this time, an upstart had beat them to it, setting the trend and ushering in a new era.

Fazir's face finally morphed into a wide smile as a chuckle escaped his lips. Tiphone turned and looked at him, eyeing him carefully. A grunt left the Major God who still had a grudge against Leon, but there was nothing he could do about it. He could only accept that he was far outdone by Leon and his defeat was as clear as day.

He could only be thankful that Leon did not come to settle old grudges with him.

Leon sat down quietly on the windowsill of the room he shared with Elena. The cool night's air blew against his bare chest as he went over his many thoughts. There was a lot left to do. The world was still healing after the war against Izeal's and the Army of Destruction's forces.

The political climate of the world had irreversibly changed, and there were many things and people he needed to catch up with. Then, he also needed to pay a visit to Earth. He would not forget about his friends back there.

Behind him, the blankets ruffled before Elena's figure appeared behind him a few moments later. She was wrapped up in a lighter blanket as she stepped up behind Leon and wrapped her arms around his torso.

"You were the one who told me it was all over. Yet, you still look burdened. Do you want to share?" Elena asked.

"It's all over. But there is still so much to do. My mother is alive again. But she doesn't exactly know much about me; that's one thing to take care of. Then there is the current political climate of the world. Everything is still in turmoil." Leon responded, his hand going up to grasp hers as he turned to face her.

"One thing at a time. You're a powerful man, and I'm proud of you. But you are not the only one capable of handling these things. You have capable subordinates, capable friends. Everything will be fine. Just focus on your family first." Elena smiled and leaned up the give Leon a peck on his cheek, making him smile.

"Thank you for reminding me that I also have an amazing partner." Leon laughed and leaned forward to join their foreheads before sharing a short kiss with her.

"You're welcome. Strong people often need someone to remind them of the little things." Elena chuckled before grabbing Leon and pulling him back into the room. "Let's rest. Everything else can come tomorrow."

Leon simply sighed before allowing himself to get pulled by Elena who led him back to the bed. She settled in his embrace before allowing herself to fall asleep. Leon allowed his mind to settle down before also allowing himself to fall asleep.

When morning came, Leon was already up. So was Elena. The two of them went to a dining hall where breakfast was being prepared. Everyone who could join was gathered, including his parents.

Eugene and Martha had spent the night catching up after so many years apart. There was still a lot more that they had not yet gone over, but they would get there in time. Now, it was time for Martha to get to know her son a bit more.
