The Black Necromancer

Chapter 523: Kaladin's Fury

Kaladin led the charge as the forces under Leon's command defended against the invaders that sought to charge into Leon's God Kingdom. He valiantly clashed with the strongest God of the other side, a Peak Minor God who had no limbs, and was simply a large, floating eye.

The two of them immediately engaged in a tussle of minds, but it did not take long for Kaladin to realize that he would remain on the losing end. While Kaladin's raw power was up to par, his experience was lacking compared to this centuries old God.

"Futile attempt, child." Mental waves passed through the space between Kaladin and the enemy God as it communicated. It had no mouth parts, so Kaladin was not surprised by how it communicated.

"Come, give up your futile attempts at resisting Fate and join the Army of Destruction. It is the only way to survive. I did it, you can too." The enemy attempted to coax Kaladin into betraying his side.

This attempt greatly infuriated Kaladin, and it showed. His bright blue lightning suddenly gained a shade of red as his fury rose.

"HOW DARE YOU?!" Kaladin's voice was like thunder as it crossed the skies and shook the heavens. All the weaker creatures around him, both enemy and ally, trembled as electric currents ran over their bodies. "YOU THINK YOU CAN CONVERT ME SO EASILY?! MAKE ME DISCARD MY LOYALTY TO MY MASTER?! YOU WILL PAY!!!" Kaladin's body turned into a manifestation of pure lightning itself.

His entire body turned into blue lightning, but the area where his Divine Spark was supposed to reside was made up of red lightning instead.

Bzzt!

The enemy God reacted with shock as Kaladin appeared right in front of it. Immediately hundreds of defensive spell formations that were good at blocking varying degrees of physical and magical forces snapped into place.

"SUCH WEAK DEFENSES CANNOT STOP MY WRATH!!!" Kaladin's fist glowed with red lightning as it crashed into the shields. Immediately dozens of them shattered under his power, stunning the enemy God.

"What?! HOW?" Before it could get any answer, Kaladin's fist crashed into the single eye that made up its body.

Crack!

Lightning crackled along the body of the enemy God, burrowing deep and carrying Kaladin's will to destroy the enemy. The lightning immediately began to do damage from the inside, attacking whatever weak points that could be found.

On the outside, Kaladin's lightning fists constantly slammed into the massive eye, tearing apart the tissue that made up the eye.

"ARGH!" Sounds of pain reverberated through the minds of everyone present as the enemy God felt shame and embarrassment well up within him. The pain did not even register in his mind.

Even though the enemy God was a mage-like being who was technically a glass cannon when placed side by side with another God who was focused on physical battles, that did not mean that he did not take measures to ensure he could take hits comfortably without faltering.

However, he could feel Kaladin's fists digging into the tissue of his body without stopping. The arcs of lightning that snaked through his body dealt additional damage, which struck him as odd.

For some reason, a large wave of mental attacks struck his mind whenever Kaladin's lightning pulsed through his body. Not only did it deal heavy physical damage, but it also dealt a considerable blow to his psyche!

"Argh!" The enemy God grunted and gathered his power to push Kaladin away.

However, what he intended was not what happened!

Not only did the wave of Divine Power fail to affect Kaladin, but Kaladin exploited the opening in his enemy's defenses and dove into the enemy God's body, intending to wreak even more havoc from the inside!

No place was as precious as the inner sanctum of a God, his body, his temple! For an enemy to slip in and cause damage, it was a disgrace to any God!

"NO!" The enemy God trembled, his large eye that was covered in blood twitching and trembling frantically as the God tried to root our Kaladin. However, his efforts were in vain as Kaladin easily evaded his reach.

This caused even more doubt to well up in the mind of the enemy. The inside of his body was the center of his Domain! How could an enemy slip inside but be so evasive, not even allowing the one who owned the body to be able to fight him?!

'I cannot go down so shamefully!' The enemy God thought to himself and carried out a technique that he had never thought he would use.

The eye of the God glowed brightly with a white color as the Divine Power that circulated through his body became charged with a potent energy.

"Die with me!" He creamed one final time before the energy suddenly erupted in a massive explosion that temporarily shook both sides into stopping their fights.

Within the haze of mana and Divine Power, a lone figure emerged. Kaladin, with torn robes and broken bones, emerged, his body glowing with power despite the state it was in.

The invading forces of the Army of Destruction paused, shocked that one of their most powerful had already fallen so soon. Under no normal circumstances could this even happen, but this world had defied expectations twice!

It did not take long before they resolved their minds. This foe must fall! He must pay the price for causing one of their own to fall!

However, before they could make a move, a sudden change on the battlefield occurred. A strong wave of mental power surged out and knocked out thousands of weaker celestial creatures and beings. With the arrival of that powerful wave of mental power, a single lone figure appeared beside Kaladin.

"You did well, Kaladin. Go and rest." Nedra placed her hand on Kaladin's shoulder, her voice soothing like silk.

"Yes." Kaladin nodded his head and teleported away to rest. While he would have loved to continue fighting, he knew his state the most. He knew that he would only be a liability if he continued to linger.

"Now, let us continue from where we stopped, shall we?" Nedra smiled and opened her hands.
