"Thank you." Misha smiled. "Thanks to both of you, the auction can be held without any problem. I guess your names have scared them."

Nathan chuckled. "Don't tease us. We are nothing but students, so it's not a big deal. Instead, are you sure we can accept this reward even though we don't do anything special?"

"Yes. The mission this time is leaning toward the auction's protection instead of the subjugation, so it's fine. Thanks to you, our auction house has also gained some reputation that those thieves don't dare to do anything despite giving us such a threat.

"So, please accept these gold coins." Misha nodded.

"I understand." Nathan looked like he was just accepting the reward, but he actually gave a signal to Alavenya to begin.

When he grabbed the bag of gold coins, Alavenya leaned toward her and just whispered a few random things.

Nathan looked shocked, as if he'd heard some surprising revelation. He turned to Alavenya while saying, "Eat, eat, eat, and eat? Why do you keep thinking about eating? Is there nothing other than food in your mind?"

Alavenya's eyebrows twitched. She thought Nathan would start an argument with a random topic, but it turned out he was being a prick by mentioning food.

Even though she knew it was an act, Nathan just annoyed her for real, so she couldn't help but raise her voice. "It's important to eat. There's a restaurant not far from here. Not being able to do anything is already frustrating, and only food can calm me down!"

Nathan couldn't believe what he heard.

Misha was dumbfounded. Now that she thought about it, their room was messy when she last visited. It was as if they had been arguing with each other, making this petty argument not suspicious.

"We can eat, but can't you hold back just a bit?"

"What? If you have an empty stomach, you will be stressed out."

Misha smiled wryly, saying, "Would you like to eat something? I know a good restaurant near him. How about I treat you as thanks?"

"No. I want to eat a lot. Eating in that kind of restaurant will just force me to be reserved." Alavenya snorted.

"Hey. You don't have to be that rude."

"Why do you keep rebuking me? Do you hold a grudge because of that fight? I can't believe this." Alavenya stood up, glaring at Nathan. She looked like she was being betrayed and took her leave rudely.

Nathan was in utter shock. He looked at the door for a bit before smiling apologetically. "Sorry, Miss Misha. I don't think I can accept your invitation."

Nathan was indirectly implying that he needed to solve the problem with Alavenya since it was more important.

"Ah. Please don't worry about it. I'm already grateful that nothing happens during the auction. If there's another opportunity, please allow me to treat you to a meal."

Nathan answered her with just a smile, not accepting or rejecting her offer. He grabbed the bag of gold coins and immediately rushed out, chasing after Alavenya.

It didn't take long for Nathan to catch up, as she wasn't running for real.

"What? Why did you hit me?"

"You prick." Alavenya snorted. "Why did you have to mention food? You deserve that after smearing my name."

"No way." Nathan couldn't believe it, but before he could say anything, Alavenya stopped him.

"Anyway, the merchant is heading east. I will catch up to him. You should go to the north gate."

"All right. You should be careful. I think they will be splitting their forces into two, but if they are fighting together, just hang on for a bit. Of course, make it big so we can hear each other."

"I know that. I might defeat all of them by myself before you catch up." Alavenya harrumphed.

Nathan chuckled. When they were about to reach the exit, Nathan said, "Alavenya." He paused for a moment, making Alavenya curious about what he wanted to say. "Nice act. Thanks to you, everything went smoothly. Let's go."

"You're slow. I'm going to speed up." Alavenya snorted. As soon as she reached the exit, she headed east and sped up.

Nathan had been her enemy not long ago, but when she realized it was all just a misunderstanding, it felt like a huge burden had just disappeared from her heart. Hearing such sincere praise unknowingly put a smile on her face.

"Sir… Are you sure about this? Are you really giving me this sword?" A knight, or more like a summoner, was stunned, looking at Count Reysion.

"Yes. You have been serving the county for over two decades. Your sword has gotten old and dull, so it's time to upgrade it. I know how hard you've worked for the county, so don't reject this." Count Reysion smiled.

"This…" The knight was startled. He remembered how expensive it was during the auction. His heart felt moved. "Thank you so much, sir. I won't disappoint you."

The knight suddenly felt a fluctuation of ena and turned his head to the left. "Watch out!

The knight erected a barrier made of ena, but all of a sudden, a small explosion erupted and flipped the carriage.

Boom!

That explosion startled everyone, including the knights that were supposed to escort them.

The same thing occurred not far from the east gate. The merchant's carriage had been toppled over.

Both the merchant and the count tried their best to exit the carriage.

"What's going on?" They were confused because they didn't expect to be attacked.

The situation occurred a bit far from the city, so the city might not do anything or even notice them in the first place.

They soon noticed that they were surrounded by a lot of people. Their guards took out their weapons and circled around the carriage.

It was at that time a shadow suddenly appeared amidst the dust cloud.

The two shadows extended their hands to reach the respective items. For the count, several bullets suddenly rained down, forcing the shadow to leap away.

On the other hand, the merchant saw Alavenya suddenly coming out of nowhere and punched the shadow in the face, blowing him away.

Both Nathan and Alavenya, although with different tones, said the same thing, "I'm already annoyed enough after getting into an argument with Alavenya (Nathan), so what are you doing? Stealing?"
