Chapter 15: Chapter 15 Azure Spirit Liquid 2
Red tilted its head, staring at Magi the Book with a puzzled expression.
"The flame inside this little Cat's body is quite unique. What's even more rare is that only low-level novice level spirit beasts can absorb this flame. If my guess is correct, this little Cat is naturally a high level novice level spirit beast, but it was suppressed by special means later. It's amazing that someone could achieve this in the small town of Veloria."
Magi the Book's voice echoed in the room once again, this time with a hint of admiration.
As the words lingered in his ears, Regret was first surprised, then his gaze turned peculiar. He hadn't expected that Magi The Book really had some tricks up its sleeve, even able to probe into the flame inside Red's body, something that not even the specialized spirit beast detection fan could uncover.
"How can I be sure that you won't harm me or the Blaze family?" After a moment of silence, Regret's voice was calm. He didn't mind, but keeping Magi the book by his side was undeniably placing a time bomb in the Blaze family. If the latter really did something harmful to the Blaze family, Regret would only regret it deeply.
Hearing this, Magi the Book also fell silent. After a long moment of hesitation, it finally hardened its heart and said, "I can bind a life and death spirit contract to your first spirit Portal. If I do anything harmful to you, a single thought from you would suffice to obliterate me."
A life and death contract?
Regret smacked his lips in his mind. While reading through Magi The Book, he had come across this peculiar spirit contract. Only extremely powerful spirit beasts could establish such a contract, and there were no restrictions on the one establishing it. However, this method could only be carried out between a master and a servant.
One could imagine the immense resolve Magi The Book had before speaking.
Magi The Book floated in front of Regret, with a faint light extending from its interior, and at the end of that light was Regret.
After intertwining his fingers and taking several breaths, Regret bitterly smiled and waved his hand, dispersing the light extended by Magi The Book. He said softly, "Although I don't know whether this is right or wrong, since I have decided to keep you by my side, we should be honest with each other. Besides, I really don't like this kind of contract."
The light in front of him transformed into countless brilliant light points, clearly stupefying Magi The Book. After a moment, a faint shadow began to coalesce above the open pages of the book.
This shadow had a faint blue hue, swaying continuously with the flow of the air. What's more peculiar was that the shadow's face resembled an aged dark weasel, while its lower part floated like a ghost.
"What is this?" Regret asked, widening his eyes in astonishment..
"Actually, this book is just a part of my body. This phantom image is my true form, but my true form is currently very fragile and could be easily torn apart by a spirit beast of the novice level." The phantom held the book in one hand, looking at Regret with a complicated expression.
Seeing this scene, Regret's expression also changed slightly. It was evident that Magi The Book had truly decided to be candid, even revealing its most fatal weakness.
"Happy cooperation."
After a brief moment of contemplation, Regret extended his hand towards the phantom of Magi The Book, a slight smile appearing on his face.
"Happy cooperation."
Magi The Book let out a long breath. Two hands of completely disproportionate sizes tightly grasped each other, casting a solid black shadow on the wall.
The morning sun shone into the spacious courtyard, filtering through the dense branches and leaves, scattering in patches on the ground. Beyond the courtyard, shadows flickered, with horse drawn carts carrying goods, raising dust into the air as they sped off into the distance.
"Cousin, are you awake?"
The ethereal voice of a young girl resonated in the courtyard, then passed through the wooden windows into the room.
Slowly opening his eyes, Regret took a deep breath and gently woke up the Red snuggled on his chest, then groggily opened the door.
Outside the door was Qistina with green vines.
"What's going on?" Regret asked in surprise.
"Cousin, have you heard that the Blaze family invited an alchemist last night?" Qistina's pretty face was filled with excitement.
"An alchemist?" Regret stared at Qistina incredulously. If he hadn't found out he might have the potential to be an alchemist last night, he would probably be even more shocked now.
After all, alchemists were the most prestigious figures wherever they went.
"Yes, it was the Second Elder who paid a high price to invite him. It seems his name is Kamal." Qistina's bright eyes sparkled as she spoke.
Kamal?
Upon hearing this name, Regret not only showed no joy, but instead furrowed his brows slightly. Kamal's reputation in Veloria City was not good, especially with his arrogant personality, which easily caused displeasure among people.
"Kamal is here at the Blaze Family now?" Regret suddenly looked at Qistina.
"Yes, with him here, we won't have to worry about the elixirs we need for cultivation in the future," Qistina was quite excited. Having an alchemist in the family was beneficial for the younger generation like them.
Nodding gently, Regret woke up the still sleeping Red and walked towards the direction of the reception hall with Qistina, where the Blaze Family usually entertained distinguished guests.
The typically sparsely populated reception hall was now surrounded by a large number of Blaze Family members. Their gazes, filled with curiosity and excitement, were focused on the figure in white robes inside the reception hall.
The person in white robes was obviously an old man. Despite being scrutinized by many eyes, his gaze remained indifferent, as if everything happening around him had nothing to do with him.
