418  417: Paragon Martial Arts; Eternal Divide

If there was one thing Corey was sure of during his 'fight' with the Capra King, it was that he was abnormal and maybe a little bit mental.

After the Capra King gave him the first ever bicycle kick he had ever received in his life, instead of focusing on the pain or the feeling of being powerless to change anything, Corey had a strange thought.

'Is this what it feels like to be a ball?'

'The feeling of being kicked and thrown about like a non-living object is shitty. If balls could think or come to life, won't they hate humans and maybe wage a war against humanity?'

'Oh wait… I'm no longer a human. I'm a Demi-Paragon'

After having this thought, Corey found himself a meter away from the ground with a trail of blood following his path.

A second later…

BANG!

An extremely loud sound resounded a second after Corey's slammed into the ground. A fifty meter wide crater formed as a result of Corey's crash, and a massive dust cloud spread out from the crater.

Deep in the crater with his back against the ground, Corey lay flat on the ground, and his breathing was so shallow to the point that one might think he was dead.

His face was bruised, bloodied, and swollen.

As for his body, the number of broken bones in his body was something he chose not to count since it would make no difference to him. The Capra King could break his bones as easily as he breathed.

Oh, wait... Breathing was no longer easy for him.

Apart from his broken bones, the amount of blood, cuts, and bruises that were on his body was immense.

Corey's unfocused gaze stared at the flying asteroids, stars, and planets in the distance, and a few seconds later, he coughed.

Corey sighed deeply, and then he placed his hands on the ground. He grunted and then he sat up with visible difficulty.

"Ah fuck… What the hell have I gotten myself into."

Corey held the side of his head, and then he shook his head before releasing another sigh. A second later, he looked up and the image of the Capra King standing at the edge of the crater appeared in his eyes.

Corey smiled slightly, "Thanks for giving me some time to heal myself a little."

When the Capra King heard this, he said nothing and a fraction of a second later, Corey saw the Capra King sway ever so slightly, and without hesitation, he used a skill he had been preparing for.

Teleportation

The instant Corey's body vanished from his spot, a loud BANG! resounded throughout the entire dimension, and crater Corey was in became much deeper and another dust cloud was formed.

A few seconds later, the dust cloud vanished, and the Capra King could be seen in Corey's previous position with his fist embedded deep inside the ground.

The Capra King slowly stood, and then he turned and gazed at a particular spot of the boundless darkness above him. Reflecting in his pupils was the clear image of Corey's bloodied and injured figure standing atop a hexagon platform in the sky.

The Capra King said no words, and he stared at Corey with an apathetic gaze for three seconds before he crouched slightly. His muscles tightened, and the ground beneath his feet cracked apart, and a second later, the Capra King jumped.

Corey's eyes widened when he saw this, and he instantly teleported once again. Once he did, he gazed at the Capra King, and to his surprise, he noticed that the Capra King had stopped moving and was hovering in the air.

The Capra King stared at him for a second, and then he slowly raised his upper right hand and pointed at him with two fingers.

Corey became tensed when he saw this, but the next actions of the Capra King baffled him. A confused expression appeared on his face when he saw the Capra King swipe his fingers to his left.

Corey turned, and then his eyes widened to the extreme, and he could not help but curse when he saw a massive asteroid flying toward him at an extremely fast speed.

'Son of a bitch!'

Corey instantly teleported away. He was just about to release a soft sigh of relief, but a second later, his eyes widened in horror when he saw multiple asteroids flying toward him.

'What the fuck, you son of a thousand bitches!!'

Corey cursed the Capra King internally a million times, and once again, he teleported away from his spot to the flat continent below.

Before Corey could even catch his breath, he perceived a spatial fluctuation behind him, and he felt a hand on his shoulder the instant his feet touched the ground.

"Did you really think the power of the earth only shows on land? Even the emptiness and darkness of space acknowledges the earth."

The Capra King's voice flowed into his ears, and Corey's lips twitched.

"Ah fuc-"

Before Corey could complete his sentence, the Capra King gave Corey a casual backhand slap, sending him flying more than 200m.

For the umpteenth time since his arrival in the dimension of the Capra King, Corey found himself rolling on the ground without rhythm.

Corey gritted his teeth, and with a grunt, he used his two hands to stop his tumble. The instant he did, he saw the Capra King walking slowly towards him, and with every step that the Capra King took, he covered at least 50m.

'Three seconds? Or four at best?'

Before having this thought, Corey stretched out his right hand and a translucent hand appeared above Corey's hand before stretching to an absurd length.

The Hand Rune

Corey noticed a slight pause in the movement of the Capra King, and then he saw the Capra King turn in the direction of the translucent hand for a second before shifting his gaze back at Corey with a nonchalant gaze.

Corey's left eye twitched slightly, and then the Capra King took a step.

Then another step.

Then another step.

And then… he appeared less than a meter in front of Corey with his hands clenched, and his arms raised in a punching manner.

However, the Capra King was not the only thing to appear before Corey. A second before the Capra King appeared before Corey, his axe appeared in his outstretched right hand.

Corey gripped his axe tightly, and with an extremely focused expression and cold eyes, he watched as the Capra King swung his fist.

Corey followed his instincts, and the point before the Capra King's fist gained maximum momentum, Corey swung his axe and to the immense disbelief and shock of the Capra King, Corey parried his punch.
