Chapter 381 Another Real Member
Unaware of Xu Feng's shrewd thought, Crimson Heart could only smile softly and gratefully accept his offer.
It would be a lie that she wasn't interested in the first-place reward. Just the mere factor of being able to witness and work with Yaren in forging could increase her Profession level by a large margin.
"Very well, then the winner of this competition would be contestant number 88, Crimson Heart." Yaren was satisfied that they were able to come up with a concession rather quickly.
Normally, one would constantly argue, forcing her to outright decide the winner based on her mood.
"But I bet you didn't mind second place because you knew I would want to continue our agreement from previously," Yaren smirked and stared at Xu Feng.
"Hehe, we can discuss it another time." He adjusted his glasses and grinned.
"Alright, just leave. The rewards would be distributed to your respective hotel, and you can wait until the crisis is over." Yaren announced and informed Crimson Heart.
"Eh, but I won't be able to stay for long." Crimson Heart raised a question.
Calculating the one natural day update that the Divine World would take, she doubted she had enough time. Originally, without the crisis and system update happening, she would still have around 3-4 days of availability to stay in Paradise Plains.
However, now she was afraid she might get booted out before she could even watch and learn from Yaren's forging.
"Any qualified contestants, especially winners, could stay at Paradise Plains…" Yaren raised an eyebrow, clearly confused by her meaning.
"Let me explain, Conductor Yaren." Xu Feng suddenly chimed in.
"What she meant is that her funding is not enough for her to remain and stay at Paradise Plains. After all, this city is one damn expensive place to live in. The inflation and cost are outrageous." He added, gleefully exposing Crimson Heart's financial situation.
Instantly, Crimson Heart glared furiously at Xu Feng.
"Hmm, but I recall hearing Crimson Heart addressing you as Guild Leader back at the Abyssal Rift. In that case, as the guild leader, shouldn't you be responsible for sponsoring your fellow members in their studies and advancement?" Yaren rubbed her chin and said slyly.
'Fuck… she's even more stingy than me.' Xu Feng cursed silently.
In his past timeline memory of her, Yaren had become so successful that she practically had half the control of Paradise Plains in her palm.
Thus, she was rather generous, but the current Yaren was merely an influential blacksmith.
She had yet to become a successful monopolist and tycoon at this stage.
"Yeah, Guild Leader, shouldn't you sponsor your poor guild members?" Meanwhile, Crimson Heart took the hint and quickly latched onto Xu Feng.
"You're not even a real guild member yet!" Xu Feng tried to fling her away and exclaimed.
"Fine, then I'll just become a real one. The premises are that you are not allowed to restrict my freedom whatsoever." Crimson Heart declared.
Truth be told, Crimson Heart had been debating this question for a while, especially when she saw how Carmen interacted with Xu Feng.
One could easily fake their wording in a contract signing phase to coerce the other party to sign and get deceived.
However, Crimson Heart didn't sense any fakeness in their relationship.
In fact, she was also somewhat envious of Carmen to have such an amiable guild leader.
"Are you sure you want to become a real member and not just out of spite or impulse?" Contrary to her belief, Xu Feng was rather cautious and seemed to question her motive. No, it was more correct to say he was telling her to rethink her decision very carefully.
"What? Are you going to make me sign a slave contract?" Crimson Heart rolled her eyes. After all, she had been informed of the contract clauses from Carmen when they were teleported away by Earthrender's ability.
If it wasn't for that, she really wouldn't have readily agreed to truly become a guild member of Xu Feng's Vanguard.
Naturally, her so-called real member was different from Carmen's. She would become a full-fledged guild member of Vanguard, but she wouldn't be touching any of the guild's core secrets.
Instead, she would be focusing on her Profession and the guild would provide her resources and funding. In exchange, she would help supply the guild's warehouse.
And of course, when she wanted to sell any items that she made with her own resources, she could do so without the guild having a hand on it.
The only restriction was that it was not allowed to be sold to any affiliated guild or people that the Vanguard was an enemy of. In this case, the Reaver Guild was the only one on the list.
Although Xu Feng might have ceased fire and allowed the branch guild at Star Falls City to breathe alive, that didn't mean their hostility was over.
"Ahem, so there's no problem with the funding whatsoever, right?" Suddenly, Yaren cleared her throat and questioned.
"Nope," Xu Feng answered swiftly.
"Then why are you still in my office?" Yaren twitched her brows.
"Get out!" She exclaimed and waved her hand in annoyance.
Hadn't she already told them that she was busy, but they still decided to enter some negotiation talk and wasted her precious time?
Truly, if it wasn't for the fact that she knew Xu Feng was now the Earthrender's successor, then she would have bashed the latter already.
Having been kicked out, Xu Feng quickly retrieved a contract where his signature was already signed. "Here's the contract. Once you sign it, you will be given a good amount of funding and support from the guild."
Startled, Crimson Heart glanced at the ready-made contract and asked, "Do you always have this contract ready?"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Of course," Xu Feng snorted coldly.
"This sort of contract needs to be signed as soon as possible. Otherwise, if the other party suddenly has a change of mind, then wouldn't all my effort be for naught? Verbal agreements are worth as much as a fart since it's hard to prove that kind of agreement."
