CHAPTER 370 - Phoenixia and Rewards.
Alice was surely growing stronger in the place she was in, and Alex believed that Sophia wouldn't let it be if Alice's life were to be in real danger.
But was he going to let it be?
Nope.
No matter how good of a place Alice was in and no matter how strong she got, Alex was sure that she would prefer staying with him instead of that place.
Even if she didn't, Alex could just make her stronger than she could ever get while being trapped in that place.
In a minimal amount of time as well, especially after the reward he got from killing Lokiath.
The process was rated as one of the best ways to do it, giving Alex a lot of rewards.
Lots of it.
Yes, it was in quantity and not in quality, but the sheer number of items he got was enough to make him not buy some of these things anytime soon; the points he got were just an add-on.
[Stat upgrade potion X1000]
[Bloodline upgrade potion X100]
[Skill upgrade potion X100]
[Accessory upgrade rune X50]
[Random skill book card X10]
These were the rewards he got along with 200,000,000 points.
It was a lot, right?
But it was not actually that much, as it could be used pretty quickly if Alex wanted to.
These cards were rankless, meaning they could be used by anyone to upgrade their skill, stats, and accessories.
The base upgrade they gave, however, was equal to an EX-rank upgrade.
For example, if one were to try upgrading their stats when they are at A-rank, it will directly shoot up to EX-rank, as that is the minimum boost it can give.
But the main thing is after EX-rank.
Once you cross the EX-rank and reach Epic rank, every stat upgrade will require around 10 potions.
For legendary rank, one needs to consume 20 potions to elevate their rank by one, and for mythical rank, 30 potions.
So, in a way, these potions were not that many.
The one thing that was not normal among these things was the last item—The random skill book card.
That thing was like a lottery; one could get a mythical skill, a skill with rank above mythical or maybe higher, or they might just draw an F-ranked skill out of it.
Now, here comes another limitation.
The chances of drawing a skill above the user's rank kept decreasing the higher one went; 0.01 percent for a rank higher, 0.001 for another rank higher, 0.0001 for the next one, and so on.
The user here is the one tearing the card; it can be anyone—Alex, or someone whom Alex gives this card to tear—but a thing to note is that only the user can obtain the skill coming out of the card and not someone else.
So, all of it purely depended on luck.
Right now, however, Alex was not focused on the reward; he wasn't even in the demon empire anymore, he was...n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"So, this is the imperial capital of Phoenixia, huh?"
Alex let out a rhetorical question as he stared at the view below him.
He was high up in the air, staring down at the vibrant and bustling city below him.
It was the capital of the empire of Phoenixia, a place where the royal phoenixes resided along with the few high-ranked spirits that governed this empire along with the phoenixes.
From above, Alex could see six different compartments made by the walls of the imperial capital.
The whole capital was in a circular shape, with a small circle at the center being the first compartment.
The center compartment was like a smaller circle within the large circle, which was the capital; this part was for the imperial palace—a large, majestic castle made out of vibrant red gem-like ores.
The remaining area was divided into five equal parts, with each of them having one of their ends toward the imperial palace and the other toward the boundary of the imperial capital.
All of these zones were brightened with different colors as if showing the element they represented.
The blue one was the one that had every spirit or elemental that was related to water.
The red one was for those related to fire. Experience tales with empire
Green for those with even a minimal relation to the wind, and brown for those who had a link with the earth element.
The last one, however, was blinking with a variety of colors; some places were dark, some were bright, some were gloomy, and some were holy, filling the area with a diverse range of colors.
It was a part of the land where the high-ranking spirits of elements unrelated to the four basic elements resided.
There were many elemental birds and some phoenixes flying up in the sky, just some meters below Alex, yet they didn't seem to notice his presence, and not just his...
"Do you truly not wish for my company, my lord?"
Azaroth, who was floating right beside Alex, questioned with a serious expression, his gaze lingering on Ann, who had Noctura in her arms, for a bit, curious about the girl's origin.
She was someone who seemed to be quite close to Alex, much like his lover, causing some questions to rise in his head, but he decided not to ask them out loud.
"Yes, you're needed more in the Demon Empire. That place demands your presence, especially with the flame of revenge still burning strong in the kings of Noxviel and Fyzenar."
Alex nodded his head without looking at the demon ancestor, causing the demon to realize the need for his presence in the demon empire, so with a bow, he spoke.
"Then I will take my leave, my lord."
With his head bowed, Azaroth waited for Alex's permission.
He knew the situation of the demon empire just as much as Alex did, and he cared for the demon empire way more than Alex did, as he was the guardian of the empire.
He already knew that the one who killed Lokiath was Alex, and he also knew it was Alex who had sent the recording of Lokiath killing Maurice to the king of Noxviel.
But he didn't say anything, as Alex had kept his promise; he didn't wipe out an entire kingdom, nor did he kill a very strong figure of the empire.
So, it was all fine, and it was Alex himself who stopped the war by saying that both parties had lost a son and both parties were blaming one another for their son's murder, so with no one proof of anything, the war will be suspended for an indefinite amount of time.
Only when one finds proof against the other will there be any other listening on this case.
Now some will want to know where the recording went—the recording that Alex had sent to the king of Noxviel.
It was, by Alex's order, destroyed by Azaroth.
Alex, after hearing Azaroth's words, soon nodded his head, giving the guy the permission he needed.
"Un."
The next instant, with his head still bowed, Azaroth disappeared from the spot he was standing at.
He was the one who brought them here after all.
He was their free space-traveling vehicle that needed nothing to operate.
'Teleportation sure is convenient...'
A thought appeared in his mind, and now he wanted to learn teleportation as soon as possible.
{Sigh…}
Sophia, who heard his thoughts, sighed in defeat.
If someone were to know that Alex wanted to learn teleportation, they would say that it would take time, but she knew that now that he had made up his mind, it would take him no longer than 2 tries to successfully start teleporting from one place to another.
"Is this where Alice is?"
Ann, on the other hand, was more worried about her best friend's condition.
Alex, after getting the information about Alice's situation, told both Ann and Noctura about it, as he judged the situation to not be that bad, and their reactions were not much out of his predictions.
Noctura relaxed completely after she heard his words, not having a shred of worry left in her mind.
But Ann, just like him, was worried about Alice.
No matter how minimal the risks were, the risk was still there, right?
The fact that Alex hadn't told Ann about Sophia and everything about his all-powerful system didn't help in this situation as well.
If Ann knew the capabilities of the system and Sophia, then she wouldn't be this worried.
"Yes, and don't worry, we will soon meet her."
Alex, who heard her question, turned toward her with a reassuring expression, hiding the worry he himself felt.
"Un."
Ann nodded her head, trying to not show her worry anymore as she knew that Alex wasn't much better than her.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't hide his feelings from Ann's sharp eyes.
With that, they descended down to the capital city, still undetected by anyone and everyone.
