Chapter 382: Facing All of Hoenn
The young generation, the young adult generation are collectively known as the younger generation. Using the participating age of the Junior Cup as a standard, the age of the junior division is all under fifteen years old.
Phoebe’s comment, claiming that Terrance is already at the pinnacle of Trainers under fifteen in the Hoenn region, naturally drew the ire of many Trainers.
Challenge Terrance!
This was practically the thought of every Trainer in Hoenn under fifteen years old. If they could defeat Terrance, wouldn’t their names also spread across Hoenn?
While challenging the Elite Four might be too intimidating, challenging someone their own age carried far less pressure.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Two days later, an account calling himself “Terrance” posted a statement online, declaring that he accepts all challengers. Specific time and location would be announced later.
“Hehe.” Typing out a series of statements on the Pokémon Center’s online platform, Terrance laughed heartily.
If he were to establish his Gym, he’d been wondering how to attract challengers and promote it—this situation presented itself perfectly.
When the Gym officially opens, if it can create a scene where Trainers flock to it, that would be phenomenal. It’d serve as invaluable publicity for the Gym’s reputation.
“I didn’t expect that the battle with Master Phoebe would attract so much attention…”The young generation…
As for saying he is the “strongest,” Terrance felt conflicted. Was it true that no one under fifteen in Hoenn could match him?
To be honest… Terrance felt a bit uncertain. At the very least, Steven, Wallace, and Cynthia at his age weren’t necessarily inferior to him.
And putting them aside, there was that psychic girl from Kanto—a headache even for the League. Terrance couldn’t judge himself using a single standard against someone like her.
“It’s just an empty reputation…” Terrance sighed and shook his head. After achieving titles like the youngest Junior Breeder and Top Coordinator, he no longer cared much about such labels.
What really mattered was having confidence in oneself; one cannot simply indulge in the sweet words of others.
What Terrance needs to do is to utilize this fame, transform it into practical benefits for himself, and then further strengthen himself. This was the perfect strategy in his mind.
“We’re almost at Fallarbor Town.”
After days of travel, Terrance’s Bug-Type squad had made remarkable progress in their strength.
From initially being on par with Starter Pokémon in combat ability without any battle experience, they could now handle ordinary wild Pokémon on their own without issue.
Even if they were separated from Terrance now and returned to the wild, they could survive just fine in nature.
Although it wasn’t worth bragging about, it indirectly demonstrated that they had grown to a level where they could stand on their own.
Reaching this point, Terrance felt that usual training was no longer very meaningful. With their current strength, they could already directly face rookie Trainers or ordinary challengers. R̃
“They’ve already got a solid foundation. From now on, all they need to do is keep practicing on their own.”
“But the most crucial thing is training them in coordination.”
After all, that was what the Gym’s test would focus on. As the Gym Leader, Terrance’s Gym Pokémon needed to “set an example” and couldn’t afford to lag in this area.
Throughout the journey, based on the progress of the little bugs, Terrance had also come up with a draft for his Gym proposal.
It is the core of any Gym and forms its foundation. It took Terrance a solid half-month of effort before he finally started writing.
He combined the principles of a Breeder, Trainer, and Coordinator, centering on five Bug-Type Pokémon, including Beautifly and Little Beautifly, to outline a preliminary policies for Gym battles.
The content of the tests drew inspiration from some Pokémon Contest rules, mixing them with Trainer’s battle rules to strike a balance.
Furthermore, Terrance planned for his Gym to target mid-level and lower-level Trainers as its main audience. These Trainers made up the majority, ensuring the Gym wouldn’t face a lack of challengers.
After another two days of refinement, Terrance completed his proposal just before arriving at Fallarbor Town.
The proposal detailed the Gym’s type, initial Pokémon roster, main tests, and target challenger demographics in nineteen densely packed pages totaling over 3,000 words. It had taken Terrance half a month of brainstorming to complete it.
Having put so much thought into it, Terrance felt confident that he had covered every angle and that it would pass the review process without issue.
However, the proposal was just the first step in this phase of assessment. The League would still send inspectors to evaluate the practical implementation of the proposal’s content.
No matter how well the ideas looked on paper, they would be meaningless if they couldn’t be executed in reality. This was the true challenge Terrance would have to face.
After submitting the proposal at a nearby League office, Terrance finally felt a weight lift off his shoulders. He then returned to Fallarbor Town with his little bugs to await further results.
Fallarbor Town had undergone a complete transformation compared to seven years ago. Since the construction of the cable car and the Pokémon Contest Hall, the small agricultural town had gradually started to develop into a larger agricultural hub.
Fields and orchards in every household had been expanded. From inside-out, Fallarbor Town radiated a fresh new vitality.
The Pokémon Contest Hall was undoubtedly the most luxurious building in Fallarbor Town. Before even reaching the town itself, Terrance caught sight of the hall from a distance.
Although it was still desolate for now, any passing residents would stop to take a second look, their hearts filled with amazement and curiosity.
A few people even associated it with Terrance. After all, Terrance had recently become a Top Coordinator—a fact well-known among all the families in Fallarbor Town. Not long after, the Contest Committee sponsored the construction of the Pokémon Contest Hall in the town. To claim that there was no connection between the two? No one would believe it.
For a remote place like Fallarbor Town, the establishment of a Pokémon Contest Hall was akin to dropping a bombshell!
Walking calmly along a small path between farms, Terrance wondered what other changes had occurred during the few months he had been away.
“Maybe a few months from now, the influx of Trainers here will completely change the fate of this place,” he muttered to himself.
Although he didn’t understand much, he knew that if there was a lot of traffic, many industries could be developed based on this condition.
What’s more, Fallarbor Town has its own specialties. These could be leveraged to attract and receive visitors, providing them with transportation, sightseeing, accommodation, dining, shopping, entertainment, and many other services.
Some of these might succeed, and some might fail, but in terms of transportation, the cable car is the best example. Hasn’t a large company already taken action across all of Hoenn? Terrance believes that if someone can seize opportunities in other areas, they too could rapidly develop.
After all… with the Pokémon Contest, the Gym, and a series of upcoming businesses, Fallarbor Town had a tremendous opportunity for growth.
