Side Story Chapter 153: Tower of Creation (11)
[The ‘God of Heaven’ is shocked!]
[The ‘God of Compassion’ urges you to reread the mission contents!]
[The ‘God of Games’ taps his feet anxiously!]
The Constellations reacted like crazy once Oh Kang-Woo accepted the mission. It was only natural since the mission could only be cleared by dying.
[The ‘God of Depravity’ expresses confusion!]
Even the one who offered the mission to Kang-Woo was shocked, having never expected him to accept the mission, but only for a moment.
[The ‘God of Depravity’ giggles as she mocks your stupidity!]
The overjoyed God of Depravity began to make fun of him.
[The ‘God of Heaven’ brings you a revelation!]
[The ‘God of Heaven’ has brought a revelation to a climber who is not their apostle. Applying a restriction to the ‘God of Heaven.’]An anxious voice echoed in Kang-Woo’s head.
[Decline the mission this instant! Once you accept a mission, you cannot—]
[Wow~ look at this boomer, ruining the fun! He said he wants to do it, so why don’t you shut the hell up and stay put?] The God of Depravity’s revelation interrupted the God of Heaven’s revelation. She shouted, [Hehehe! It looks like you were going to accept the mission and not do it, but I have bad news for you!]
It would have been a different story if Kang-Woo had declined the mission but a failure penalty was unavoidable once a mission was accepted.
Riiing!
[The ‘God of Depravity’ sets a failure penalty for the mission!]
[Mission Failure Penalty: Death of Climber ‘Oh Kang-Woo.’]
The mission could only be cleared by dying and failure would lead to death. The God of Depravity had likely set such a penalty because she thought Kang-Woo did not know a failure penalty existed.
“Just get the ten million ready,” Kang-Woo said.
Of course, he knew about the penalty from the beginning.
[The ‘God of Depravity’ expresses confusion!]
Kang-Woo ignored the God of Depravity, confused by his prideful attitude, and walked toward the white dragon covered in ice.
‘The problem is whether this thing can kill me.’
The mission was to be killed by Ice Dragon Velkhana; it was pointless to commit suicide.
“Grrrrr…”
Having no idea of Kang-Woo’s predicament, Velkhana growled ferociously as it glared at Kang-Woo. Kang-Woo spread out his arms wide as if welcoming it to attack.
“GRAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!”
Crack—!!
An intense freezing breath, so powerful it could even freeze time, raged from Velkhana’s open mouth and engulfed Kang-Woo whole.
Crack! Crunch—!
Kang-Woo’s skin froze and his flesh split. He stopped moving completely as if he had been put into cryogenic sleep.
[The ‘God of Heaven’ sighs at your foolishness!]
[The ‘God of Depravity’ bursts into crazed laughter as she grabs her stomach!]
The Constellations showed various reactions as they stared at the frozen Kang-Woo, but it did not last long.
Crack!
The frozen Kang-Woo returned to normal as if nothing had happened.
“Goddammit,” he cursed as he frowned.
‘I guess this isn’t enough.’
He had taken the attack head-on while completely defenseless but it had not been powerful enough to kill him. His body regenerated on its own before he could die.
[The ‘God of Depravity’ is left wide-eyed!]
The God of Depravity was shocked by Kang-Woo’s extraordinary regenerative abilities. Kang-Woo ignored the Constellations’ reactions and fell into thought.
“I guess I have no choice.”
Velkhana couldn’t kill him.
‘In that case.’
Schwing!
A black blade sprouted from Kang-Woo’s arm. One wasn’t enough— he created hundreds of black blades.
“Grrr?!”
Velkhana jumped backward, instinctively sensing danger, and glared at Kang-Woo warily as it lowered its stance.
“Don’t be such a pussy, man. They’re not for you.”
Kang-Woo smirked and raised his arm, throwing the black blades created with the demonic energy from the Abyss into the air.
‘Authority of Extinction.’
He infused the Authority of Satan, one of the seven princes of Hell, into all of them. He jumped into the net of blades infused with the ability to turn a target into minced flesh. The black blades pierced and cut him up everywhere.
[The ‘God of Adventure’ is confused by your incomprehensible actions!]
The Constellations couldn’t understand the shocking sight. Kang-Woo had taken the ice dragon’s breath head-on and was now attacking himself with blades he had made.
“GRRRRRRRRRRR—!”Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Only one’s mind was clear— the nine-star beast created to devour climbers. Velkhana’s eyes turned crimson red. It could instinctively tell its prey had been greatly weakened and was about to die at any second.
“GRAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!”
Another ice breath engulfed Kang-Woo, who simply smiled as the storm of ice worsened his severe damage.
‘If it can’t kill me through normal means…’
The solution was simple.
‘I just have to make it kill me through abnormal means.’
The mission clear condition was for Ice Dragon Velkhana to kill him. In other words, it just needed to deal the finishing blow.
Crack—!!
The ice storm engulfed Kang-Woo, who had already become mush. Ice fragments dug into his exposed flesh and turned even his organs into ice.
[You have cleared the mission!]
With that, he had cleared the mission that had only been for attention-seeking purposes.
[The ‘God of Depravity’ chuckles at the absurdity!]
[The ‘God of Heaven’ falls into despair as he clenches his Nebula pouch!]
[The ‘God of Compassion’ falls to her knees in pallor!]
The Constellations exploded into chaos as they looked down incomprehensibly at Kang-Woo’s frozen corpse. Just then, one Constellation who noticed an irregularity posed a question.
[The ‘God of Games’ wonders why their interface with Climber ‘Oh Kang-Woo’ is not severed.]
If a climber died, the interface connecting the climber and Constellation was cut. However, the Constellations remained connected no matter how long they waited.
Squelch.
Something sticky moved. The minced flesh melted on the ground.
[The ‘God of Depravity’ examines the corpse with a frown!]
The black mucus on the ground was flowing like a bunch of single-celled organisms.
“Haaah!”
Soon after, the black mucus gathered and reverted Kang-Woo to before he was a corpse— not only that but he was back to wearing clothes unlike his previous naked self.
[The ‘God of Depravity’ is left wide-mouthed!]
[The ‘God of Heaven’ does a triple Axel as he pulls on his hair!]
[The ‘God of Games’ screams as he tapdances!]
Chaos swept the Constellations, beings created by Titans and lived for nearly an eternity, as they witnessed the miracle of resurrection which they had never seen before.
Kang-Woo had not miraculously survived a near-death experience; if he had, the God of Depravity’s mission would not have been cleared. Climber ‘Oh Kang-Woo’ had undoubtedly died and came back to life.
“Wow, I love all your reactions.”
Kang-Woo smirked as he read through the unending list of messages. Of course, their reactions were not important right now.
“Well, then~ dear God of Depravity?” Kang-Woo smiled and greedily licked his lips. “You haven’t forgotten about my ten million Nebula, right?”
Bu—rp.
[The ‘God of Depravity’ questions the Law’s judgment!]
[No errors have been detected in the Law’s judgment.]
[The ‘God of Depravity’ requests another review!]
[The Law refuses the God of Depravity’s request.]
The God of Depravity resisted profusely because she did not want to reward Kang-Woo but the Law took Kang-Woo’s side.
“Come on, why are you acting like such a cheapskate? Huh? Just spit out the ten million Nebula already~”
Kang-Woo cackled as he gestured with his hand. Ten million Nebula was no small price even for the God of Depravity, the highest-ranked Constellation. It was only natural since this mission was never supposed to be cleared. It was simply a mission offered because it was impossible— like tuning into author Butterfly Valley’s stream and jokingly setting a mission like “Three billion won if you get a girlfriend by today lol.”
It was impossible even if one gathered all the energy scattered throughout the universe— not even if the laws of physics or causality needed to be bent. The God of Depravity couldn’t help but be shocked since such a feat had occurred.
“So? You’re not gonna spit it out, huh?”
Kang-Woo’s expression hardened. Powerful bloodlust lingered in his upturned eyes.
[The ‘God of Depravity’ refuses to pay the mission clear reward!]
[Initiating the restriction placed by the Law!]
[The ‘God of Depravity’ writhes in intense pain!]
It seemed the Law of Titans punished Constellations who did not pay mission-clear rewards. Messages about the God of Depravity writhing in pain appeared in front of him.
‘Who gives a fuck?’
Kang-Woo couldn’t care less about the God of Depravity’s pain. He was only interested in the fate of the ten million Nebula he was promised.
“The hell? You get off scot-free with just some pain?”
[The ‘God of Depravity’ can no longer connect with Climber ‘Oh Kang-Woo.’]
“No, not that.” Kang-Woo grimaced and screamed, “THE NEBULA!!! WHERE’S MY NEBULA?!!”
[The Nebula cannot be paid without the God of Depravity’s consent.]
“FUCK!! What a load of bullshit! Don’t fuck with me.”
He couldn’t let the opportunity to make ten million Nebula get away.
‘No fucking way.’
He needed to get those Nebula no matter what.
“I just need consent… right?”
Kang-Woo’s eyes narrowed. He needed a way to force a Constellation who did not exist in the physical realm.
‘I guess I have no choice but to go there myself.’
He had thankfully experienced something similar before.
“GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!”
“Shut the hell up.”
Crack—!!
Kang-Woo easily subdued the raging ice dragon and lay on the ground.
‘I don’t know if this will work.’
However, it was well worth a try.
“Astral Projection.”
Kang-Woo’s soul began to separate from his body once he activated the Trait.
‘I see it.’
He could see long strings attached to his astral form. He followed the one in which he could feel the God of Depravity’s energy. At the end of the string was a Rift, similar to when he had entered Eve’s space last time.
Riiing!
[The ‘Law of Titans’ warns you are breaking the tower’s regulations!]
[A report will be sent to the ‘Master of the Tower’ if you ignore this warning!]
“Fuck you. However great the risks are, I won’t allow myself to be scammed, dammit.”
Kang-Woo jumped into the realm of the Constellations without hesitation.
