Chapter 1014: Chapter 111: Someone’s Coming
“It’s just an act.” The housekeeper sneered, “You two, go out and follow her, see where she goes.”
The housekeeper then quickly went to the back courtyard to report the news to County Magistrate Sun and his beloved concubine.
“Madam, I have received news about Uncle. Someone saw him in Linshan Village, and it was said that he went up the mountain with some guards. After that, he never appeared again.” The housekeeper was originally there to report urgent news.
The beloved concubine stood up excitedly, “Then, have the people been found?”
“I have not yet sent someone to search.” The housekeeper was somewhat embarrassed.
“Then why not go and search right now?” The beloved concubine roared angrily, paced back and forth, then stopped and looked at County Magistrate Sun, “My lord, this will not do; we must send someone to find Ah Rong.”
“Housekeeper, you go personally, take a couple more bailiffs, and make sure to bring the person back before nightfall,” County Magistrate Sun ordered.
The housekeeper nodded hurriedly and left immediately.
Soon after, a group of people left the county government, exited County City, and headed toward Linshan Village.
Ye Muyu was sitting in a room on the second floor of the inn, near the window.
A young boy knocked on the door and entered, delivering the news to Ye Muyu, who then gave him some silver rewards.
The boy happily accepted the silver rewards and left.
“Madam, the county government has sent people out to search for Gao Rong. Should we send someone to follow them?”
“No need, they won’t find anything,” Ye Muyu said indifferently, “Go and call Eunuch Ren and have them also come over. Reserve a few rooms in the inn.”
The room where Ye Muyu was located had a bed for resting; she had brought all her luggage to the inn and beside her in the room was a large chest, inside of which were many scrolls.
Originally, after discovering evidence of corruption involving County Magistrate Sun in the scrolls, she and Eunuch Ren had secretly switched out the important ones.
Now, the book she was compiling the evidence in was nearly as thick as a book.
About fifteen minutes later.
Eunuch Ren arrived at the inn with his entourage.
Thinking of what was to come, Ye Muyu had lunch and then went directly to bed to rest and conserve energy.
When it was almost dark.
She awoke and ordered some food from the inn. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Halfway through her meal, Chunqin came in.
“Madam, there is news from the county government,” he said, his eyes bright with obvious good news.
“What happened?” Ye Muyu blinked and asked.
“The people sent to find Advisor Gao got back. They encountered wolves on the mountain near Linshan Village and saw a lot of bloodstains. They only found Advisor Gao’s torn, blood-stained clothes. County Magistrate Sun and his beloved concubine were furious, and several of those who went to search for Advisor Gao were injured,” he reported.
Ye Muyu’s mouth curved into a smile, “Make sure to guard the surroundings of the inn well.”
“Yes, madam,” Chunqin, seeing her not surprised at all, realized this might be related to the lord.
When he left the inn, he found Eunuch Ren’s guard at the door.
After greeting them, Chunqin went to guard the backyard.
After Ye Muyu finished her dinner and washed her face with water she had brought, cleaned up,
someone arrived at the front door of the inn.
“Lady,” Eunuch Ren’s voice called from the door.
Ye Muyu went over and opened the door: “Eunuch.”
“County Magistrate Sun is coming with his men. Just take care of your own safety, madam, and don’t worry about me,” Eunuch Ren advised.
Ye Muyu did not expect County Magistrate Sun to come directly like this—what was he up to?
“Alright.”
Ye Muyu followed him downstairs.
