Chapter 297: Chapter 297: Akira, Why Did You Bring Hanabi on the Mission?
On this particular day, Akira, as usual, bought a bouquet of fresh flowers and headed towards Konoha's hospital.
"Lord Akira!"
"Hello, Lord Akira!"
"Lord Akira, here to see Lady Hinata again?"
As Akira walked through the corridors of the Konoha hospital, the doctors and nurses greeted him one after another, especially the young female nurses. The way they behaved made it seem as if Akira had become a super-celebrity in the hospital.
And truthfully, that was the case. Young, handsome, and often regarded as the strongest shinobi in the world, not to mention his deep devotion to his girlfriend who he visited daily with flowers-it was no wonder Akira was famous among the hospital staff, especially the young nurses who eagerly anticipated his visits.
Though everyone knew that Hinata was Akira's girlfriend and that he would likely never waver in his affections, some still clung to the smallest hope. Perhaps, even a one-in-a- million chance, they could have a secret romance with Akira-just maybe.
Leaving aside these thoughts of the young, beautiful nurses, Akira reached Hinata's hospital room, and upon opening the door, he was stunned.
Hinata was nowhere to be seen. The bed was empty.
"What's going on?" Akira wondered to himself as he surveyed the empty bed.
He was initially worried but then quickly calmed down. Surely, it couldn't be that Hinata was kidnapped, right? Otherwise, the doctors and nurses he had just passed would have
immediately informed him. It wouldn't be possible for her to be kidnapped without any signs or commotion.
Akira expanded his sensory perception, trying to locate Hinata's chakra.
While his sensory abilities weren't exceptional, they weren't entirely lacking either.
Quickly, he sensed Hinata's chakra nearby. She wasn't far-just outside.
Akira walked over to the window of the room and looked outside, and indeed, there she was. In the courtyard of Konoha Hospital, about a few dozen meters away, Hinata was slowly walking upwards, perpendicular to the ground, her feet firmly planted on a tree's trunk. It was clearly chakra control practice-tree climbing.
"She can already come out to practice tree climbing?" Akira muttered to himself as he observed Hinata's actions.
With a flash, Akira appeared beside Hinata.
After climbing higher up the tree, Hinata stepped onto a branch that protruded horizontally and then sat down on it.
"Hinata, it seems like you've recovered quite well!" Akira called up to her, smiling as he looked at her perched on the branch.
"Akira-kun!" Upon seeing Akira, Hinata's face lit up with a joyful smile. She leaped off the branch and landed gracefully beside him.
"I checked my temperature today; it's around 37 degrees now," Hinata said.
"That's great—just slightly above normal," Akira nodded, smiling as he placed his hand gently on her forehead.
Indeed, it was only marginally warmer than usual.
"Why are you pushing yourself so much?" Akira asked, a hint of reprimand in his voice as he looked at her. Her body still hadn't fully recovered, and yet here she was training again.
"My chakra reserves have increased considerably, so I wanted to see if my chakra control had deteriorated. It's just some low-intensity practice," Hinata explained, sensing Akira's
concern.
"Well, alright then. It does seem manageable," Akira relented with a nod.
After all, tree-climbing was a basic chakra control exercise-not anywhere near the level of
the brutal physical training that Might Guy and his student Lee would do.
"How does it feel to be training again?" Akira asked as they walked hand in hand back toward the hospital building.
"My chakra levels are reaching Kage-level, and my control hasn't declined either. It feels pretty good," Hinata replied in her usual gentle manner.
"What about the Tenseigan abilities?" Akira asked as he looked into Hinata's blue eyes, which seemed to hold entire galaxies.
"As of now, I can only control gravitational repulsion and attraction," Hinata replied honestly.
"That's good enough for now. As your chakra continues to grow, you'll likely unlock more abilities," Akira said reassuringly.
"Just having gravitational control is already quite powerful," he added.
"Like the Deva Path of Pain, with Almighty Push and Universal Pull-those were powerful enough, right?"
"It's an invisible force, impossible to see or touch, and very hard to defend against. If you use it well, it's more than enough."
Akira nodded approvingly, not setting his expectations too high for Hinata's current abilities.
After all, abilities like Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion or Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion were indeed formidable, but they required a solid foundation of chakra.
To execute those moves, one first needed Truth-Seeking Orbs.
And what were Truth-Seeking Orbs? They were a combination of the five chakra natures-
wind, fire, water, earth, lightning-along with yin and yang release.
The orbs contained immense power, and ordinary people wouldn't even have the qualifications to touch them.
In the Naruto storyline, the only individuals who had formed Truth-Seeking Orbs were Six Paths Madara, Six Paths Obito, Naruto in his Six Paths Sage Mode, Kaguya Otsutsuki, and Toneri Otsutsuki in his Tenseigan Chakra Mode.
They were all at least at the Six Paths level.
So it was only natural that Hinata, at her current level, couldn't yet perform the Silver or Golden Wheel abilities.
"Alright then, I'll focus my training on controlling attraction and repulsion for now," Hinata agreed, nodding gently.
"Your Tenseigan's control over gravitational fields allows direct manipulation, right?" Akira
asked.
"Here, try this." He handed Hinata a coin.
"Use your gravitational control, and when you can make it weave smoothly between your fingers, you'll know your mastery is superb."
Hinata took the coin from Akira, her Tenseigan's ability activating as she attempted to lift the coin with her gravitational control. It wobbled unsteadily in the air.
She tried to make it move between her fingers, but it was shaky and kept colliding with her
hand.
"Take your time," Akira said, watching her struggle to maneuver the coin. "First, try making
it orbit around your wrist."
"Then, slowly shrink the orbit's diameter."
"Once you can get it to circle around your wrist smoothly, you can start trying to move it
through your fingers."
The training method was similar to how one would master the Rasengan-by progressing
through stages.
It was certainly better than trying to form the Rasengan in one go.
Following Akira's guidance, Hinata began to have the coin orbit her fair wrist.
It still wobbled, much like someone trying to learn to ride a bicycle for the first time, but at least she could make it move around her wrist.
Slowly and steadily, Hinata controlled the coin, working to make the orbit rounder and the movement smoother.
Akira sat nearby, observing with a patient smile, completely unfazed by how mundane it
seemed.
After all, when you're with your girlfriend, nothing ever really feels boring, does it?
And like that, half the day passed by.
At some point, Hanabi showed up. However, seeing the two of them together, she chose notNôv(el)B\\jnn
to approach, instead watching them from a distance.
Around noon, Hanabi even prepared lunch for Akira and called to them from the hospital
room window. "Sis, brother-in-law, come and eat!"
The three of them returned to the room and had lunch together, enjoying a pleasant
atmosphere.
"By the way," Hinata began suddenly while eating, her tone casual, "Akira-kun, when you led the group of Kage-level shinobi to attack the Akatsuki, why did you bring Hanabi along?" Hearing this, Hanabi paused mid-bite, her eyes turning towards Akira with curiosity. It was true—her abilities were only at the chunin level. Accompanying a mission filled with elite Kage-level individuals, she was just there as an extra. Hanabi, too, was curious. Among all those Kage-level powerhouses, why had Akira brought along a mere chunin like herself? "Oh, it was nothing much," Akira replied nonchalantly. "I just thought it'd be good for her to get out and see the world."
Hinata's heart was kind, and if she knew that Toneri had attacked Konoha because of her, and that lives had been lost during that attack, she would surely be devastated.
Thus, Akira chose not to tell her the truth.
"Oh," Hinata said softly, nodding without pressing further.
Whether she truly believed him or simply sensed his reluctance to answer, she didn't pursue
it.
The three of them then switched to other topics, chatting and enjoying each other's company. They were all teenagers, after all, with little in the way of generational divides to stop them from having a good time together.
