My Soul card is a Reaper

Chapter 616: Elias becomes a prisoner

By the time Azzy found his target, the latter was seen busy massacring a small group of Aeni.

As Aeni resembled beasts in the wilderness he usually kills to train, Azzy didn't meddle until it was done with everything and finally chose the only thing it could sense life in; Azzy himself.

With his soul energy sealed and his cosmic jewels stayed in the mindscape, Azzy appeared like a teenage Yer.

"gashaaaaa"

The shadow creature rushed toward Azzy.

Azzy stayed on the spot, letting it approach him.

The shadow creature tried to stab his chest, just as it did with every target it encountered so far.

However, Azzy turned out to be faster than the others.

Before its hand struck his chest, Azzy's kick landed perfectly on the side of its right thigh. The shadow creature lost its balance and crashed to the ground.

Azzy didn't give it any chance of counterattack. As soon as the shadow creature fell, the adolescent acted by giving another kick at its abdomen, this time, with more power.

Placing his feet on its chest, Azzy used all of his strength to crush its chest underneath his foot.

"Ka…"

As the creature coughed out blood, Azzy gathered natural energy from his Sage core into his hand and threw several translucent energy spears, piercing them one after another.

Its screams echoed all over the surroundings, scaring the hell out of whatever creatures currently living in the forest.

It lasted for atleast half a minute before the shadow creature transformed back into a heavily wounded Elias in an unconscious state.

Staring at him coldly, Azzy conjured a spear for the last time to finish off the evil guy as the images of dead bodies at Eldora village appeared in his head, including a pregnant woman and lots of children.

He raised the energy spear and motioned his arm, aiming at his heart to take him out in one move.

However, at the last second, the energy spear stopped just half an inch away with veins popping out of Azzy's arm as he clenched it tightly and gritted his teeth, "F**k it. It's not my right to kill a criminal in this world. Neither I belong here nor do we have any personal enmity. The Yers should decide his fate, not an unrelated person like me."

He dismissed the energy spear and grabbed the target's shirt to lift him up but then another thought came to his mind, "But, how should I explain about Protos energy to the natives of this world? And the fact that we are in the disguise of royal bloodline descendants is something to be noted of.

Princes are not some random strangers and they are often identified. Not to mention, who knows what kind of abilities powerful Yers would have? What if they have some ocular ability to see through our disguise? Going to the high-level authorities or noble lords is quite risky."

Azzy started walking back and forth, beside an unconscious Elias, thinking about the solution.

"On the other hand, I cannot simply hand him over to low-level authorities. The Protos energy is something they cannot handle. What to do? What to do… I cannot contact the Reaper for suggestions."

After thinking for a while, a solution came to his head, "Let's consult Leah and see what she thinks. Message card cannot be used at the moment…" He stared at Elias and mumbled, "It looks like you are coming with me, mister."

Carrying him on his back, Azzy returned to the village before dawn.

Azzy managed to slip into the window of Leah's room that he used to go outside.

Leah, who was in deep sleep, didn't even flinch as Elias was thrown on the floor like a sack of rice and made a sound.

Azzy couldn't help but shake his head as he witnessed her sleeping without any tension or whatever, "How could she let herself be so vulnerable…"

"Anyway, she had enough sleep. I need to settle this matter before the others wake up." He walked to the bed and shook her shoulders, trying to wake her up, "Leah… Leah…"

"Hmm?" Her eyes slowly opened, but only partially. A smile then appeared on her face, "Azrael, now you even appear in my dreams? But, why this appearance? Can't you come in your original form?"

Before he could explain the matter, her arms stretched and grabbed his shirt to pull it into her embrace, hugging him tightly, "Anyway, it's the first time you come to my dream. So, you shouldn't take advantage of me, okay? You only get a hug this time. Next time, we can kiss."

As his face was pressed against her chest, Azzy's face turned beet red and his heartbeat spiked up in an instant.

His breathing became slightly difficult but Azzy felt it hard to free himself; not that he was incapable of breaking her hold through force but a part of him strongly didn't want to get away.

Fortunately, they were in disguise and Azzy used that point to get away, thinking that there was no way he was going to be attracted to a fake body.

After freeing himself from her grip, Azzy sat down on the floor while trying his best to calm his heart, "Okay, that was unexpected. I seriously don't understand this girl. One time, she said that she wasn't interested in me, and then, she dreamed about such a thing… Cool, Azzy. Cool… no need to be flustered about such things. As long as you ignore it, nothing happens.

It's not like she is trying any advances on me anyway. If she ever does that, I will make sure to make it clear that I belong to Claire and her alone.

Anyway, let's forget that, and let's focus on what to do with this guy." He cast a sidelong glance at the unconscious body on the floor, "Hmm…"

A couple of hours passed away and the sun rose in the west, signifying the planet's retrograde rotation, and a few more hours later, Leah's eyes opened fully this time as she woke up and stretched her arms with a smile. "That was some good sleep I had in like… Hmm?"

As soon as she sat on the bed, she saw Azzy in a meditative pose with an unfamiliar Yer tied by translucent energy threads in an unconscious state. There was also a wall of translucent energy at the doorless entrance to the room, preventing the others from entering.

Leah's eyes widened and the drowsiness suddenly washed away as she called him out, "Azrael…"

Azzy's eyes slowly opened and his gaze met her, "Morning, Leah. It seems like you slept soundly. Anyway, we have something to talk about." His facial expression changed to that of seriousness.

Leah responded by pointing her finger at the unconscious stranger in her room, "Does it have anything to do with him?"

Azzy nodded.

"What happened?"

After a while;

"So, he turned into this thing called the Protos being and massacred a lot of natives in that state. You brought him here because you are unsure of what to do with him. This Protos being is something the natives of this world might not be able to handle and you are confident that you can take care of it. You don't want to kill him but don't want to leave him alone too.

And most importantly, you also have this Protos energy, which is nothing but the negative energy released during the formation of the universe and didn't turn into matter. Did I get everything correct?" Leah put up a summary after hearing everything from Azzy.

The 17-year-old nodded, "Yes."

"What should we do?" He asked.

"Hmm…"
