Chapter 462 Spell Reversion

William didn't hesitate and gathered large amounts of Lightning Mana from the environment, simultaneously opening his Territory of Lightning to bring the most destruction to the area around Efretta.

In a split second, dozens of peak Tribulation Transcendence Realm Lightning Bolts formed and crashed down all around Efretta, some even breaking into the lower and middle stages of the Ascension Realm.

"That's all you've got? I expected better from you!" Efretta shouted as she channeled her own Territory of Lightning to counter William's.

Even with their Cultivation difference, Efretta still effortlessly held the upper hand. Her Mana exploded outward like miniature tsunamis, forming thick thunderclouds that put the Heavens' Tribulations to shame.

The entire time, Efretta's alluring body shook with excitement, finally happy to be free to do as she pleased. Her Mana was no longer restricted by the seals placed by the Heavens, and she didn't have to waste large amounts of it on a fully developed World.

"I focus more on my other Elements." William shrugged nonchalantly. He preferred the Fire and Space Elements to Lightning, finding them to be slightly more useful against Magical Beasts and other Cultivators.

"Not a bad idea, but you can do better even without Primary Laws." Efretta said as she raised a clawed hand to the sky.

As the second round of William's Lightning fell, sparks of Lightning were automatically attracted to Efretta's hand, entering her body through four fingers. She flinched for a moment, but only half a second passed before the Lightning Mana exited her thumb and shot into the sky as a massive silver-purple beam.

William could immediately tell that it was still his Mana, but it had been modified slightly and no longer regarded him as its Master. When it reached the Tribulation Clouds, the Lightning scattered into tens of thousands of miniature Lightning Bolts, dispersing William's Tribulation before it could continue to grow in strength.

"What?!?" William exclaimed out loud as he realized what Efretta had done.

Not only had she endured the entirety of William's Lightning Magic with her own body, but she converted the Mana to her own and sent it back as a stronger and more complex Spell.

One had to remember that Efretta's Cultivation wasn't comparable to William's at all, and she didn't even seem to be using any of the boosts from her Talents. This was raw strength and skill!

"This is called Spell Reversion." Efretta started to explain. "If you carry the same Affinity as your opponent's Magic and it comes in contact with your body, you can counter a large portion of its strength simply by converting the Mana to your own before it can affect you."

William watched as Efretta performed a small demonstration of what she had just done, then returned his attention to the sky where an Ascension Portal was slowly forming.

"Isn't that dangerous? How have I never seen someone do this before?" William asked. He couldn't imagine what kind of madness it would take to try absorbing a Fireball Spell or the likes.

What if the Spell detonated early?

"Dangerous? Everything in the Cultivation World is dangerous, you just need to be strong enough to surpass the danger. Spell Reversion takes no time at all, which means a good enough Cultivator can completely counter the Magic of another if they carry the same Affinities.

As for why you haven't seen it, it's simply because very few are as good as me." Efretta stuck her tongue out and winked. "Until you reach the Solar Deity Realm and above, you'll probably only see a handful of Cultivators that can use Spell Reversion."

William nodded, "So how can I do it?"

"I'll teach you, but you probably won't learn it for a long time. Even the Mind Talent can't help you replicate this move." Efretta shrugged as she stepped into the air.

Her deep red hair cascaded beautifully behind her as the Ascension Portal fully formed, drawing her Cultivation closer and closer until finally breaking through to Ascension.

Since her Sea of Consciousness had already been formed once, the entire process was incredibly quick and she even had time to chat with William about Spell Reversion.

His consciousness was somehow able to follow her through her Ascension Portal, but time was still passing in the Filem Academy Dimension and he couldn't stay for long.

"Where will Ascension take you? I don't know how you're going to teach me Spell Reversion if we're not nearby." William asked. Simultaneously, he wondered if Efretta would appear right next to him.

That would be a bit awkward, to come out of the Filem Academy's male bathroom with a beautiful woman right behind... he wondered how the Principal would react.

-Why are you thinking this?

It was just a what if! Damn it System, I'm not a weirdo.

-Could've fooled me.

"Huh? My Ascension Portal should take me to the same Plane as you, but it might be a while before you see me. The Portal's true location in the Ascended Realms changes all the time, so I might end up on one side or the other on any given day.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Don't worry, though. I'm somewhat familiar with the Slightveil Plane. I'll find you in less than three months."

The Janus Magical Beasts on the two-sided World entered Efretta's view, but Efretta cast a powerful Illusion Spell that hid her even from William's senses, only reappearing when she was about to pass through the other side.

It had only been a few minutes, but Efretta was already approaching the other end of her Ascension Portal, though William didn't exactly know why. He decided not to think about it and accepted Efretta's mentorship, opting to learn Spell Reversion from her as soon as possible.

William withdrew his consciousness from the World Efretta and sorted out his appearance before returning to the classroom. Many of the other students had already introduced themselves, but all of the interesting ones had spoken before William left.

Amongst the group in the back, William noticed Shine, the emo boy that seemed to hate everyone just because, the annoying Yuhe Slightwing with an ego and a massive Mana Signature, Jonathan Irisa, whose eyes were shaped like a yellow six-pointed star, and Felmus Flamerium, who was probably related to Juno Flamerium and had a similar body type.

Two rows ahead of them sat a boy named Lute, who had yet to say a word, but an attendant next to him introduced him as a prodigious swordsman/archer combination even for his age.

In the fourth row from the back, Shye Lumina from the original top ten rankings sat with her legs crossed in an elegant manner, her pale eyes almost as eye-catching as her silky-white hair. Something about her gave William the same feeling as a Prairie Bear, the nocturnal Magical Beast that harnessed moonlight to improve its physical abilities.

A few spots next to her was Fero Slightwing, but William didn't have a very good read on the guy. William had trouble remembering the guy's appearance, so he had to guess that the man had an innate Karma Affinity.

Damn! How many Slightwings are there in this school? William exclaimed inwardly as he noted down a boy named Wonder Slightwing.

In his class of new students alone, there were three Slightwings! Not only that, but there were even a few Professors from the Slightwing Family.
