Chapter 467: Blood Moon
Chapter 467: Blood Moon
As the fight between Leviathan and the Man continued, Saitan was forming a magic circle in the ground using his own blood. Mammon had passed him a lot of his powers just so they could create a blood moon to strengthen their bother's power.
"Hurry, Saitan!" Mammon yelled. He was now the one lying on the ground powerlessly. He could only watch his brothers now that he gave all of his strength to one of them.
"I'm doing this as fast as I can," Saitan said. "Just a bit more and I'll be finished. I'll be able to cast this."
There was only a small fragment of the magic circle that Saitan had to finish when the entire circle was fired with a black orb of light, shattering it to a thousand pieces. This made Saitan fall to the ground, helplessly watching his hardwork turn into nothingness.
"I" Saitan paused when he saw the culprit. It was DuDu, standing there smiling at him.
"You're not going to create a blood moon," DuDu said to him. Just when Saitan was about to act, DuDu raised his arms above him, collecting all the broken fragments of Saitan's magic circle. "Not with the state of your body."
With a thrust of his arm, DuDu fired a red beam of energy towards the skies. It was so powerful and big that it was able to penetrate the atmosphere and reach the moon where it flooded all of its energy.
"Blood moon creation needs a huge amount of energy," DuDu said. "You'll die if you tried to cast this all by yourself."
Leviathan's body glowed with a dark red color. He felt his entire body heat up as the power of the blood moon gushed inside him like a raging river. "What's this?"
He looked up and saw the blood red color of the moon. The skies that it rained its light on was also tinted with the same dark red hue, as if blood was spilled by the gods themselves.
"Now this is what I call power," Leviathan grinned. "Let's continue, shall we?"
The man became wary of the sudden spike of Leviathan's power. He took a couple of steps back, inspecting the power that Leviathan had. "I think that moon has something to do with this."
"It does," Leviathan said. "The blood moon increases my powers by four times. We were on par before, but now I have the power over you. Surrender now and I shall spare your life."
"APRIL is the only one who can dictate my life and death," the Man said. "So give me APRIL!"
The Man howled to the skies like a wolf. The howl created a burst of invisible force that reached up to the six realms, shaking the entirety of the universe itself. "Let's see if you could actually fight me. I was just warming up before, now I can let loose."
The immense power that the Man was now exuding was a thousand times the power he was showing earlier. Even his howl affected the blood moon, letting it shed almost half of the red light that it was showing.
"What power is this?" Leviathan could only ask himself as he watched the Man approach him. Every step that the Man would take felt like a hundred lions running towards him in full speed. It was terrifying.
"You want power?" the Man asked. "I'll show you power."
On the other side of the continent, Elliot rose from his seat on the floating island when he saw a group of dragons approach them. Lance rode Hope as they landed on the island. "Where's Midnight?"
"What?" Elliot asked. "Didn't he come with you?"
Hope morphed back in his human form and answered, "He morphed into his beast form and fled the fight. We thought you needed help so he came back, but he didn't."
"Where could he be?" Elliot whispered. He was about to open his mouth and say something when they saw a beam of red light blast off. This was the time when DuDu fires the beam to create the blood moon. "What in the hell is that?"
They watched the beam of light pour all of its color into the moon which burst into a red big orb in the skies. The Adventurers stared to whisper amongst themselves, questioning the event that just happened.
"That's a blood moon," Frederick said. "Albeit it's only artificial, a blood moon allows dark creatures to increase their powers."
"I have only seen one blood moon before," Zeus spoke. "Almost twenty years ago. I was a Guardian back then and had to evacuate my region for potential attacks from nocturnal beasts. That one was natural, but I don't think there's any difference between this and that."
"The demons will gain power?" Elliot asked, glancing at Irus who was also looking at the blood moon. "Irus, do you feel powerful?"
"I feel my power raised for three times, but there's nothing else to be concerned about," Irus replied.
Then the force that shook their floating island came suddenly. Some of them fell to the ground while the others could barely keep their balance as the wave of energy reached them.
There was only fear in their eyes as their minds processed the event that just happened. That force that reached them was no joke. It was incredibly powerful, one that you should be wary of even when you're a strong person.
"He's here," Alice said. "The Man. He is here."
The Man walked forward, walking past a lifeless Leviathan. He had long since defeated Mammon and Saitan, and he beat them for the second time. Now he was after DuDu who was shaking on the ground as he approaches. "How do you become an Absolute?"
"All I know is that you have to collect all the Maidens," DuDu replied. "Malice will do the rest for me. She'll turn me into one."
The Man narrowed his eyes and suddenly laughed after hearing this. "What? Malice? Turn you into an Absolute? That woman is weak. How will she do that? She's not even an Absolute, then she'll turn someone else?"
"What?" DuDu was speechless.
"She lied to you," the Man said. "Malice lied."
