Chapter 237: Chapter 237 – The Secret Formula to Earn Points
A post with a short video with a 3-minute duration was posted a few minutes after the last post in Breeze's Strike account.
Many people had been waiting for it and started to play the video. The screen buzzed for a second before revealing Max sitting on a couch with five screens hovering around him. These screens had each gameplay from the tournament, starting from the first to the fifth game.
"I will cut it short."
Max didn't start with an introduction, greetings, or any other pleasantries, clearly showing that he was clearly bothered and didn't want to create this short video.
"The key to achieving higher points is teamwork. You need to help your team instead of achieving victory yourself."
Saying so, he started playing the first two games and pointed at them with his finger.
"In the first game, I won by relying on myself. My second game is a bit special, and we actually worked together. Thus, I got 132 points instead of low points." He explained, playing the fourth and fifth games next.
"After the third game, where I only worked with two of my teammates, I realized it. I gained 85 points in the first game and then 132 points in the second game. The third game should get me more than 100 points too, so why did I only get 97 points in the third game as a police?
"Comparing the three games, I made a gamble. That was to help my teammates. It paid off. As a result, my fourth and fifth games get me 169 and 182 points each." He finished his explanation by closing all the screens.
Hunching forward slightly, he rested his head on his hand.
"To be honest, I don't need to share what I find, but people have been tagging me many times. Listen, I found this fair and square, and this is a gamble. Don't blame me if you don't get higher points. It needed skills to get higher points. How you use this information is up to you. Good luck and have fun."
With that, the video ended.
Many people flocked near the post. In just 50 minutes of its appearance, the post had been shared more than 10 thousand times and had more than 11 thousand comments.
— To those still blaming Breeze, F U! Leave this tired man alone! He has shared his hard work, so don't complain anymore!
└ People call him selfish, but they are the selfish ones for trying to make him share his personal finding.
└ It's like asking a player to share their secret saving lolol
└ I will compare it to Horizon Online. It's as if people demand those ranked to share the world or unique quest. It has those feelings
└ At least donate to Breeze in his next stream, motherfckers! He's doing his best already!
— I am sad knowing this. You're right. You actually don't need to share it. But I also understand why you share this to avoid controversy. Keep strong!
— Teamwork? What a bullsh1t!
└ YOU'RE BULLSH1T! Your family is bullSH1T
└ Nah, his family is dung sh!t, not even a bull.
└ This guy is on crack. This is why Breeze said how to use this information is up to us
— I will try it, teamwork. But if this is true, then the management is mad
— Research has come in with this data in mind. We have noticed those who earned higher points often communicate with their teammates and actually work together.
└ Really? Then Breeze's information is factually correct!
└ But how is our teamwork measured? This doesn't make sense
└ Games never make sense, their developers even so!
— I am going to try this information ASAP!
— I tried one game already! And I can say this works! I managed to get 87 points, while I usually only get 40 to 56.
└ Wow, I need to try it then
└ On my way to try this teamwork trick!
└ I will return and haunt you if you are lying! BRB rn.
— I don't believe it. The doing-it-alone theory makes more sense. I won't fall into your trick
— This strategy is asking us to lose on purpose. I'd rather take the NovelFireP because that will net me a higher MMR
The comments were divided into two: those who believed Max and those who didn't. The latter was mostly those who asked him to share his trick. Before, they called him selfish, and now they called him a liar.
There was indeed nothing right on the internet. However, this post helped some people to earn higher points and turned the majority on his side.
"Phew… This is so frustrating. It's draining my sanity."
Closing the screen, Max let out another sigh. He closed his eyes and was about to fall asleep when a notification rang. There was a new message.
"Ugh… Who is this?" Grunting, he struggled to open his eyes and checked his message.
Leaving it unread would only bother him and make him unable to sleep. When he opened his message app, he found the message was from Lily.
Suddenly, his eyes were wide open, and he read the message.
[Lily: Max, you free? Want to talk or rant? I can listen to you.]
A smile crept onto his face. She probably watched his last post and thus messaged him like this.
[Breeze: I am free, but I am afraid that I am too sleepy. I do want to talk and rant, but I might fall asleep mid-call. So, I appreciate the offer, but I think I will just sleep for now.]
Just a few seconds after he sent a reply, a call arrived. Looking at the hovering screen, it was from Lily. Max stayed still for a second before sighing. He sighed a lot today.
But, the sigh this time was a relieved one. He accepted the call, despite how sleepy he was. A screen popped out, showing Lily in her black bunny one-sie lying on her bed. Similarly, she must've looked at his tired figure on the bed.
"Yo." He greeted her first with a low voice. "I told you that I am sleepy, right? I might fall asleep, you know?" He chuckled lowly, observing Lily's reaction.
She hugged a large bunny plushie and shook her head.
"It's fine. I won't be mad if you fall asleep." She said, "Just let out all your frustration. At times like this, it's nice to have company. I know that."
A small smile blossomed on her face.
"I will accompany you until you fall asleep." She continued.
Max couldn't help but smile. He indeed needed a company to let out what he thought. Someone he could trust not to spread it to others.
"I will take your offer then. It might be a long rant." He said, raising his body and looking straight at her.
"Un, go ahead." Lily nodded and moved the plushie's arm. "Momo here will listen together with me."
"Momo, huh?"
"Hnn, she's my first plushie. I always hug her to sleep." She confirmed, "Because I am hugging her now, I might fall asleep faster than you."
Unexpectedly, Lily had such a childish side. Max felt like he knew her a little bit better.
"Well, I will be the one who sleeps first." He said, not willing to lose. "Still, thanks. You know, this is a little bit too much. I did nothing wrong but pulled into this troublesome stuff. I worked my brain and found a method to earn more points. But those people don't appreciate it, calling me a liar."
"Un, that must be hard."
"It is. And also…"
Max kept all that he kept inside out, telling Lily how he felt about the tournament today. All his feelings were lay bare, he didn't hide anything from her.
And Lily kept listening and consoling him.
In the middle of the talk, after around an hour had passed, Max's words drifted away. His voice became softer. He lay on his back, eyelids heavy. Slowly, he breathed softly and fell asleep; the call was still connected.
"Max? Are you still there?"
Lily's voice rang from the speaker connected to the smartwatch. She looked at his peaceful expression with a smile, and a giggle escaped her lips. She thought he had a cute sleeping face.
"Good night." She whispered, snuggling against the bunny plushie, Momo. "Have a nice dream."
She, too, closed her eyes and fell asleep. A distance separated them, but the video call allowed them to be close together virtually.
