Chapter 213: Chapter 213 – Roach Planet First Experience [1]

The scenery changed.

From a vibrant bar where Max sat previously, he now found himself standing on a gray sand dune surrounded by a futuristic base with a metal wall.

This was the battlefield area of Roach Planet, the moon!

All the equipment he chose prior to the game was in front of him. A large sniper rifle with a futuristic design and a compact grapple gun, along with all the auxiliary items he had chosen. It was tied nicely on a white backpack that complemented his suit.

Breathing and moving were slightly difficult due to the bulky design. However, that only applied to Max. Flexy, in his orange suit, and the other two, in the white space suit similar to Max, seemed to be able to move without any problem.

'I need a few minutes to get used to this. The gravity is around the same on Earth due to the suit. I guess that's how the game is designed.' He thought as he took his backpack and wore it.

'I guess I won't stream this first game, as Flexy also didn't do it. It would be pretty embarrassing if I trip or something because I am not used to this suit.' He chuckled inwardly. 'As for the other two… I didn't know whether they were streaming or not. Judging from what they did, I guess they don't stream.'

Looking around to get a better look, Max noticed numbers floating in the sky. It was a 3-minute grace period for preparation. In Flexy's video that he watched, this preparation phase was skipped.

'Hmm, so we have 3 minutes before the game begins and the first wave appears?' He mused in his mind while continuing his observation.

In the center of the base, there was a warehouse where they could replenish their ammunition. A player could bring up to 5 energy magazines with them. The amount of ammo inside depended on each weapon.

For example, a normal rifle that Flexy and Atlas brought had 50 ammo in the chamber, while Max's sniper rifle only had 10. The double-barreled shotgun only had two, but it was a special weapon. Players with this weapon could bring 50 live ammo with them as it had no magazine or energy ammo.

Unfortunately, the auxiliary items couldn't be replenished.

'I would need to visit this warehouse many times, then. I will try to get used moving from the wall to this building as fast as I could for efficiency sake.'

Max nodded, remembering all information he read this afternoon.

'And the main core of the base is inside the warehouse. We won't be eliminated as long as the main core isn't destroyed.'

This time, he looked at the wall surrounding the base. It was around 10 meters tall with a ladder attached to it to climb up and a letter S, W, N, and E written on it. Because Max had a grappling gun, he wouldn't need to use that ladder at all, though. So it was kind of useless to him.

"Alright, everyone."

At that moment, Flexy shouted loudly to get their attention. Max turned to look at him in his bright suit. Atlas and Ferin, who stroked her shotgun lovingly, also turned at the energetic streamer.

"This is our first game. Let's do our best. Our goal is to get to know each other and work on our teamwork. We will defend the first wave together, and then Ferin, Atlas, and I will find the wave boss while Breeze defends the base. Just do our best. Even if we lose in the first or second waves, it's okay!"

The explanation was easy to understand. In short, just do whatever for the first time. Messing up was okay, but we should learn from this game.

However… This orange-haired streamer underestimated his teammates.

"""No."""

The three of them answered simultaneously as if they practiced it beforehand.

Looking at his friend, Max looked at him with a disappointed gaze.

"Buddy, if we're playing with other people, then we're going for the win. It's useless if we play without aiming for that. Just imagine they laughed and said that we suck. Won't you get mad at that?"

"True, true." Ferin nodded repeatedly in agreement. "I hate to lose."

"Saying it's okay to lose is a loser's mindset." Atlas said, crossing his arms, "We have enough knowledge through the information we read on the forum. We are going for the win."

Looking troubled, Flexy scratched his head.

'When I want to be considerate, why are you all so spirited like this! That's my job! My role! He screamed in his mind.

Still, what they were saying was true. Maybe what happened before affected him more than he thought.

Smiling bitterly, he said.

"You guys are right. Sorry. Let's prepare for the first wave, then. I will take the South. Breeze will take the North, and both of you, please choose which side you want to guard."

"Then, I will go to the East." Ferin raised her hand, "That means At will guard the West."

"That work." Atlas nodded in agreement.

Listening to the conversation, Max nodded to show that he also didn't mean. And from that conversation, he also found out what these letters were written on the wall for.

'It shows us direction.' He thought as he began to walk to the North wall.

Max took the grappling gun from the backpack and pointed it upward. When he pulled the trigger, a hook tied to a rope was shot from it to the top of the wall. It got caught on a hard surface, and he pulled it to make sure that it could handle his weight.

'This will do.'

Pulling the trigger once again, his body was pulled up at a fast pace. He was plenty surprised but managed to hold onto it without falling to the ground. That would be pretty embarrassing.

Quickly, Max arrived on the top and put the grappling gun away. He changed it with the large sniper, which was almost as tall as him. The energy magazine at the tail of the sniper was glowing brightly, a sign that the ammo was full.

The sniper was positioned on the ground and prone behind it, looking at the distance through the tactical scope. Now, he was ready to shoot any cockroach that he saw.

Times like this were the most tense. His breathing was audible inside the space helmet he wore.

Unlike the bulky space helmet similar to the one on Earth, the helmet he used was similar to a sci-fi mask that covered his whole head.

Putting that aside, the countdown had reached the last 5 seconds. The first wave of cockroach raids would arrive soon.

When the countdown reached zero, a loud drumming bass rang in the sky. The sound woke up even the sleepy Flexy, and he focused immensely.

Following the sound was a rumble. Many creatures appeared from the horizon far away. Those shiny exoskeletons reflected the sun that danced around the Earth in space.

Someone had spotted those creatures. His lips curled up into an excited grin as his trembling finger rested on the trigger of his gun. Without hesitation, he pulled it while shouting.

"Get rekt, fucking insect!"

BAM!

The shot sent a shockwave that caused the moon sand to get blasted away from the muzzle. An energy bullet flew toward the rushing creature, landing right in the middle of the legion.

Once it hit the ground, it immediately expanded and created an explosion.

Boom!

Many cockroaches were killed at once. The carcasses were sent flying to the sky, but the bullet rains didn't stop.

Four more bullets were flying at once as his fingers kept pulling the triggers, and four explosions followed suit.

The person responsible for that, Max, stopped for a second and raised his head to inform the others.

"It's from the North! Get over here, guys! Hahaha! Let's blast those freaking insects away to the point of extinction! Those creatures should cease to exist in this world! HAHAHAHA.

Die die die die!"

A burst of crazy laughter rang on OrangeSquash's base. Max had became a crazy demolition guy.
