Chapter 129
Serenity's words struck Ethan, he wasn't expecting to hear such words from her, he came running over thinking she was in need of help, not knowing it was because of that good for nothing fool.
his eyes widening in disbelief. "Wait, what?"
he asked, confusion and shock evident in his voice. He leaned forward, gripping the armrests of the chair as he tried to wrap his head around the situation.
"Noah kidnapped me, and now he's at the police station because I escaped and Survived? His family can't get him out unless I'm there? That doesn't make any sense to me."
Serenity nodded, her eyes reflecting a mix of desperation and guilt. She nervously wrung her hands, her voice trembling as she spoke.
"Yes, that's true,"
She said, her gaze dropping to the floor.
"But I wouldn't ask you to come here if it was only this, there's more, Ethan."
She took a deep breath, her shoulders sagging as if a heavy burden rested upon them.
"There's more to this."
Hearing Serenity words Ethan's mind raced, trying to piece together what she was going to add to all of these.
He stood up, pacing back and forth as he sought to make sense of it all. "So let me guess, you want me to go with Noah family to the police station?"
He asked, his brow furrowed in concentration.
"Is that what you're asking me to do?"
Serenity remained silent for a moment, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears.
When she finally spoke, her voice was barely above a whisper, and Ethan had to strain to catch her words.
"Yes, but there's more. You... you'll have to apologize to Noah. Bow to his parents and apologize as well."
Upon hearing what Serenity just said Ethan's expression darkened, his jaw tightening in anger and disbelief.
"Bow? Apologize?"
He said, his voice rising with each word.
immediately he slammed his fist against the wall, the impact echoing through the room.
"Those are things I would never do, Serenity. Not after what he did to me. He kidnapped me, for crying out loud!"
He paused, a sudden realization dawning on him. He turned to face her, his eyes narrowing suspiciously.
"Wait, how are you involved in all of this? just because you're engaged to Noah so they decided to use you, right!"
hearing Ethan words Serenity's composure shattered, tears started streaming down her cheeks as she struggled to articulate her feelings. "My family is facing some tough times right now,"
she said, her voice thick with emotion.
"Noah's family has been helping us. They... they think it's my fault that Noah got angry and did those things to you. They're blaming me for everything."
She buried her face in her hands, her shoulders trembling with silent sobs.
At that moment Ethan took a deep breath, his heart sank, a mix of anger and sympathy swirling within him.
He couldn't believe the audacity of Noah's family, the way they were manipulating Serenity and her family's situation.
He knelt beside her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "What do you mean they're blaming you? for what is happening to Noah, he kidnapped me not you"
he asked gently, with concerned lacing his voice.
"That's not fair, Serenity. None of this is your fault."
Serenity met his gaze, her eyes filled with a desperate plea. "My parents are threatening to disown me if you don't do everything I've said. My family... they can't afford to lose Noah family's support right now, if we do, it's all over."
immediately She grasped Ethan's Right hand, her fingers shaking.
"Please, Ethan. I know it's a lot to ask, but I don't know what else to do."
At that moment Ethan left fists clenched at his sides, his anger bubbling to the surface.
He stood up abruptly, his eyes blazing with determination.
"This is absurd,"
he muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.
"I'll agree to let Noah go for kidnapping me, but I won't beg or bow down to anyone. That's not who I am, Serenity, not even your tears can make me do that."
He began pacing again, his mind racing with thoughts on how to tackle the situation.
With a determined look in his eyes, Ethan pulled out his phone and quickly typed a message to Naomi. [Tell your people to let Noah go]
he wrote, his fingers flying across the screen.
"I won't let you suffer any longer because of Noah, but I won't compromise my dignity either."
He hit send, a wave of regrets washing over him.
He looked up at Serenity, his expression softening a bit.
"I've let Noah go,"
he said, his voice steady and firm. "But I can't do the other, you're asking of me. I'm sorry, Serenity."
Without waiting for her reply, Ethan turned and walked away, his heart heavy with the burden of the situation.
"I can't believe she would ask me to do something like that, and I came running over thinking it was something Serious."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
he thought, his mind swirling with disappointment.
As he stepped out of the hospital, Ethan's thoughts were a whirlwind of anger and frustration.
"Who do the Noah family think they are?"
he muttered under his breath, his fists clenching at his sides.
"They may be powerful, but they're nothing compared to the Winston family."
He shook his head, with a bitter laugh escaping him.
"If they knew who I really was, they wouldn't dare ask me to apologize."
Ethan hailed a taxi, his mind still spinning from the day's events.
As he settled into the backseat, he let out a heavy sigh, his head falling back against the headrest.
"What a mess,"
he thought, his eyes closing as he tried to process it all.
Stay tuned to empire
Suddenly, a thought struck him, and his eyes flew open.
"The interior designer,"
he mumbled, realization dawned on him.
"I need to get my house ready for the weekend. My coursemate will be coming to see it."
With a renewed sense of determination, Ethan instructed the taxi driver to take him to the interior designer's office, the man who said he would do it for free. When he arrived, he was shown into the guest waiting area, his foot tapping impatiently as he awaited the man's arrival.
But time was running out.
"Come on, come on,"
he muttered under his breath, glancing at his watch every few seconds.
After what felt like an eternity, the interior designer entered the room, his eyes scanning the room before settling on Ethan.
"I'm sorry, but who are you?"
he asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.
"I don't believe we've met before."
