Chapter 723: Eye [Top 5 in Golden Tickets Bonus]
Chapter 723: Eye [Top 5 in Golden Tickets Bonus]
There was a pulse of mark implanting itself onto Sylas' forehead and for the second time in his life, he experienced a suffocation of his stats.
But for some reason...
He was shockingly calm, so much so that judging from his expression, one would never guess that such a thing had happened at all.
At that moment, Sylas' body began to change once again. The bone armor that coated him due to his fusion with the Bone-Tailed Lizard changed and morphed, becoming more crystalline.
A cascade of reflective gems seemed to replace the armor.
The sharp bone tail became crystal as well, and Sylas' yellowed, slit eyes changed, reflecting sky blues, bright pinks, and shimmering amethyst.
Sylas' aura changed completely as he combined the Glasirith and the Bone-Tailed Lizard into
one.
At that same moment, he activated his Beast Totem and Hibernation Halo.
A pair of golden eyes and a ring of gold rippled outward with Sylas at the center. At a speed visible to the naked eye, the bleeding wound on his neck began to close.
The pressure on his mind increased, but the focus in Sylas' eyes was absolutely unprecedented.
When he chose his three Legendary Paths, he hadn't just chosen the Paths that sounded the sweetest. He had specifically chosen them so that they could synergize.
As the Paths grew in Level, the benefits of this only became more and more obvious.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Were-for-the-Invincible and One Kind For Me played off of one another.
Because Sylas was fused with two beasts at once now and not just one, he received not just one +300% boost from his Beast Totem, but two, one for each of his Contracts. In an instant, not only did he claw back his lost stats, even with the Level o status of these two Contracts, he gained on average 500 stat points from each after gaining half of their stats.
But this was still just the start.
Not only did he gain a +1000 on average to all of his stats, but Hibernation Halo also applied two times over as it targeted both of the Contracts in his body right now.
This meant that whether it was Sylas' injuries, his Aether, or his mental fatigue, they were recovering at over +26 000% right this moment instead of the around +13 000% it should have been.
Even with this recovery pace, having so many abilities active on top of two Comprehensions was still draining Sylas' Wisdom and Will faster than they could recover.
But, what it did allow him to do was slow it to almost a crawl.
If he could hold on, he could end this battle.
And thanks to the Glasirith, he could do exactly that.
[Glass Edge (F-) (Gene Lineage Form)]
[Anti-Aether Blade. Negate all Aether that comes into contact with Glass Edge within 10 F- Grade Levels.]
[Limit: 30 Foundations]
Sylas held out a hand and half a dozen crystalline kunai appeared to his side. His palm faced Vaekra and her arrows while his second hand raised the Dragon Bone Spear, aiming toward Kyreth.
Glass Aether surged through the air as a ripple sent out a silent wave from Sylas' body. A shimmering crown appeared above his head, and at that moment, even to Sylas' surprise, the Curse seal on his forehead shattered to pieces.
Sylas' stats soared as a lance of Glass took shape, hovering before the tip of the Dragon Bone Spear.
SHIIING! SHIIING! SHIIIING!
The howl of blades filled the skies as both Dogons felt their hearts constrict.
Vaekra unleashed a volley of arrows, but Sylas' kuani moved at the same time, slicing through the air with a whistling cadence.
CHI! CHI! CHI! CHI! CHI! CHI!
The kunai and arrows met in the air, but the latter found themselves shattering on contact along with the Glass kunai.
The Aether that wrapped them was sliced to pieces.
If every arrow was a Treasure, the cost of being an archer would be far too high. Unfortunately for Vaekra, because of this fact of life, her arrows were sturdy, but not enough to survive for long without the protection of her Aether Skills.
She could only watch as her arrows were rendered useless, falling to the lava below in pieces, and at that very instant, a pulse of light came from the lance.
Black Runes hovered out of Sylas' Scorpion Warlord tail, fusing into the lance.
Kyreth's face fell, his body shaking violently beneath the pressure. But for some reason, after his Curse on Sylas' body shattered, he found himself completely frozen in place.
To his horror, he realized too late that the Bone-Tailed Lizard's poison had already entered his body, etching itself into his bone.
He couldn't control his own body anymore even if he wanted.
The horror set in for both Dogons...
When had such a powerful Human appeared?
BANG!
The lance erupted, practically blinking through the air as it arrived before Kyreth.
"Kyreth!" Vaekra roared.
Too late.
Glass Edge collided with Kyreth's protective Runes.
The Rune Flesh abilities of the Dogons were well known. And Kyreth's own were actually drawn with 40 Foundations, beyond the 30 Foundation limit of Glass Edge to negate even though they were within 10 Levels.
But...
Not only had Sylas already damaged them, but he was also synchronizing with his own on top of using a potent 40 Foundation Bone Poison.
He didn't stand a chance.
Kyreth's Defenses were torn through like wet tissue paper, a lance-sized hole ripping into his
caved chest.
The Dogon stood frozen in shock before he stumbled a step back.
At that moment, an eye appeared high in the skies as though something had been sensed.
Vaekra's face, colored with despair, instantly became an overcast of fear.
She turned tail and ran away, her body blinking away.
The eye didn't seem to notice her at all, pulsing just a single time.
BANG!
Kyreth exploded into a rain of blood.
The eye slowly turned and it looked as though it was about to go after Vaekra when it instead
locked onto Sylas instead.
Until this point, Sylas had faced death a great many times...
But this was the first time he truly felt so...
Small.
Before this eye, it didn't seem to matter how much progress he had made. It could wipe him
out whenever it so pleased.
Sylas stared at it, his brow tightly wound into a frown as he tried to stop his hand from
trembling.
The eye scanned him and then it slowly turned to where Vaekra had been. But by now, she had vanished into the Portal.
Lazily, the eye began to fade away. It didn't seem to care that its target was gone. The only
anomaly that it had definitely sensed was Kyreth, so now that he was gone, it couldn't be
bothered to pursue to ensure there were no others.
As the eye slowly faded, there was a sudden change in the lava below.
A figure burst through. In the nude, and dripping with droplets of red gold magma, she rushed
upward.
Sylas' eyes couldn't help but narrow.
Professor Fembroise?
The middle-aged woman turned an enraged gaze toward Sylas and then let out a shriek that
shook the Aether in the volcano.
