Chapter 446 Division Lounge: Acquired!
"Hey, division leader, stop acting so serious around me, didn't I already tell you that I'm your ally?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm not thinking about it, don't worry."
"Hmm? Then what are you thinking about?"
"I think we should split up and tackle our quests to speed up the division's development. What do you think?"
"Ehh? I wanted to see the extent of your capabilities but…fine, I shall agree to your orders, Division Leader Crowley."
Arriving at the headquarters, Shye breathed a sigh of relief.
He still found it hard to trust Reginald, hence, temporarily getting him off his back was something that would allow him to relax.
Moreover, the division's development would indeed be faster that way—hitting two birds with one stone, a good reason that Reginald couldn't refuse.
Upon entering the headquarters, Shye smiled with satisfaction as he saw his division members gathered in the lobby, seemingly getting along well.
He could also tell that they carefully carried out his instructions as they would still be out completing quests had they decided to take an inappropriately difficult quest.
Nodding at them, Shye headed towards the rewards counter to turn the Tempest Wyrm quest items in.
"Hello, I would like to file for quest completion. Here are the quest items…"
…
…
"WOOHOO!! A division lounge within a month!"
"Aren't we on fire?!"
"Should we continue at this pace, we would indeed blaze through the rankings, just like the division leader promised!"
Hearing his members' excited words as they entered the small, dusty division lounge brought another smile to Shye's face.
The lounge wasn't that spacious and it was dirty as f*ck, however, for some reason, Shye found the place extremely pleasing to look at.
This place, albeit tiny, would be their safe space for the coming months.
"Well then, everyone, let's clean this place up!"
With excited smiles, the Flashy Ravens Rising Division members quickly swapped their adventuring gear for cleaning clothes.
Even Reginald joined in.
However, Shye knew the guy was merely acting to blend in with the crowd.
Finally, after six straight hours of cleaning, the Flashy Ravens Rising Division lounge was spotless.
Only, he was still unsatisfied.
"Everyone, come with me!"
Although confused, Shye's division members all followed him out of the guild, prompting their guildsmen to shoot amused looks their way.
Especially after two hours when they returned carrying all sorts of furniture.
"Hahahaha! These guys are too into it, no?"
"Heh, don't mind them. After a few months, this division would surely go bankrupt. I simply refuse to believe that a mere rookie, no matter how talented, could lead a division to prominence!"
"Hahaha, I agree. They couldn't even think of storing the furniture inside their spatial bags! How would these idiots survive?"
Indeed, they could've stored the items inside their spatial bags, however, their division leader instructed them not to.
And as always, despite their confusion, they listened to him without questions.
Well, Shye's plan was rather simple: he wanted everyone to discuss their division, regardless of whether their guild members spoke positively or negatively about them.
As long as their division's name kept coming up in conversations, people would inevitably become curious.
Setting up the plush seats, tables, curtains, and a few decorations, the renovated division lounge looked more like a recreational area.
However, Shye preferred it this way as he didn't like putting unnecessary pressure on his division members.
He would only be stern and ruthless to them when needed.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Aside from that, they could treat the division as their second home.
"Everyone, hear me out," Shye exclaimed, successfully capturing the attention of his division members once more. "We need someone who would stay inside the guild to be our recruitment officer."
"Oooh, Oooh! Me! Me!" An overly excited voice sounded from the back.
"No, not you. You're one of our highest ranked adventurers so you're on the hunting team." Shye ruthlessly said, shutting down Reginald's hope of earning guild contribution points while chilling at the division lounge.
"Anyone else?"
Unfortunately, unlike the darned lazy Reginald who was only interested in certain things, all the other division members were hell-bent on making it big.
Despite their current unknown statuses and the harsh reality that revealed they were not exceptional on the grand stage, they remained determined to defy their fates.
Hence, none of them dared look Shye in the eye.
'Sigh…as expected.'
"I understand your concerns about career advancement, however, I promise that you will not get left behind by others should you choose to assume the position of recruitment officer. Also, your appointment to the position would only be temporary, and as soon as someone truly willing joins, then you will be relieved of your position should you desire so."
Sadly, even after Shye's explanation, no one was still willing, causing him to sigh deeply.
One of the division members felt guilty, though, and finally raised her hand upon seeing Shye's sad and slightly disappointed face.
"Great! Finally! Come, let us discuss the terms!"
Pulling the girl away to one table located on the corner of the division lounge, the other members suddenly felt an unexplainable sense of envy, causing them to slightly regret the fact that they didn't volunteer.
"Gwynette, correct?"
"Yes, division leader!"
"Now then, let's discuss your compensation and schedule. Since you probably wouldn't be able to hunt for around a month to six months, I shall give you 500 gold coins per month and four top-grade training elixirs. In addition to this, you will get a third of the guild contribution points I earn."
Hearing the gold coin compensation that was a bit more than what she earned in a month, Gwynette's eyes widened in disbelief.
Although she wasn't certain if a third of the guild contribution points Shye earned would match her monthly earnings, the four top-grade training elixirs more than compensated for any potential shortfall in her usual monthly guild contribution points.
Hence, she felt rather lucky to have volunteered.
A break from adventuring with a little extra earnings than usual? Sounds like the perfect vacation!
"In exchange, you have to handle the recruitment as per the instructions I would give you, do you accept the temporary recruitment officer position?"
"Yes, division leader! I gladly accept!"
