Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2217 Choice

Chapter 2217  Choice

Emery didn't hesitate and chose to take the [Elysian Tree] as his first choice, recognizing its immense potential despite its current seedling stage. The sheer rarity and hidden worth of the plant were undeniable. Even though he wasn't certain how soon it would benefit him, he knew that passing up such a rare opportunity was out of the question.

The elder's expression grew heavy; however, Tessa remained unfazed. She looked at Emery with a soft smile and said, "Just promise me you won't just cook it into one of your potions."

Emery nodded solemnly, agreeing with the request.

With that assurance, Tessa carefully retrieved the container, and Emery reached out to touch the grass. As his fingers made contact with the roots, they seemed to swirl and wrap around his hand. A sudden warm, refreshing sensation washed over him, filling him with a sense of calm and rejuvenation. He knew this plant was extraordinary.

Emery then sent the precious plant into his Magus domain to check on later.

"Alright, the second one?" Tessa asked, her eyes still bright with curiosity and anticipation.

Emery took a moment to consider the remaining treasures. Among them, the most valuable choice appeared to be the golden liquid. Its allure was undeniable, promising great enhancement to anyone who utilized it. However, upon further inquiries, Emery realized the limitations.

First, he would only be allowed to take a portion of the liquid—just enough for personal use. Additionally, Tessa could only promise to share the first four stages of the seven-stage Golden Form technique. The remaining stages required higher authority, something even her father couldn't easily grant.

Emery knew that the Golden Form was the Karat faction's most precious technique. It wasn't something they could freely give to an outsider. He appreciated Tessa's good intentions and promises, but he realized that learning this technique could create an unhealthy attachment to the Karat faction or potentially damage their relationship.

Hence, he turned his attention to the [Ocean Heart Vest] instead.

This particular armor offered not just the tier 7 protection he needed but also a direct benefit in improving his proficiency in the laws of nature and light, something he desperately needed. The vest's life-saving properties were invaluable, and its passive healing abilities and high-tier healing spell that came with it made it a versatile and essential asset. Moreover, the armor would also be beneficial for Klea, adding another layer of utility to his selection.

For his third choice, Emery considered the [Cosmic Ascension Compass]. This high-grade formation tool would undoubtedly benefit his faction; Magus Rosia, Silica, or his former Chief Bewolf could benefit from it along with Morgana.

However, after making detailed inquiries and learning more about the formation tool, Emery discovered a crucial drawback. While the special capabilities of the compass aided in immediate ascension to the grand magus realm, they could hinder the user's progress afterward. It was recommended only for those who had already reached the limit of their potential.

Emery should have known that the path of cultivation could not be rushed. Having access to cosmic power without proper comprehension of the laws would never result in a proper grand magus realm warrior. Considering this, Emery realized that such warriors, created through the compass's assistance, would not contribute significantly to the overall strength of his forces.

As for the compass's main function, although the increased success rate for ascension would be beneficial, it was something that could be replaced by better materials and a more proficient formation master.

After much thought, Emery decided to choose the [Black Dragon Heart] instead.

This decision quickly garnered attention from Killgaragh, who immediately expressed his dismay.

<Why are you choosing that?! I am telling you!! The master would not allow me to leave!!>

Emery casually conveyed his intentions to the dragon. "I didn't choose this for you."

Through the information provided by VIA, Emery understood the true value of a perfectly preserved godly beast organ. It was filled with rare tier 7 and tier 8 materials that could be incredibly useful for apothecary ingredients, among other things. In fact, he believed the dragon blood within would be a great addition to further improve the [Supreme Gene] research project.

Hearing Emery's reasoning, the dragon appeared restless. Its emotions were mixed, showing annoyance at Emery's plan to dissect such a precious organ, but unable to express its true desire. Unbeknownst to Killgragah, this reaction secretly made Emery smile. He was, in fact, considering the possibility of creating a vessel for Killgragah, hoping to strengthen their bond and potentially bribe his way to understand Khaos' true intentions for him.

With his choices finalized, all items were handed over to him. However, to his surprise, Tessa had something else prepared. She presented a metal box filled with a storage ring and a familiar tier 7 dark staff. It was the weapon used by the grand magus summoner he had fought the day before.

Tessa calmly explained, "The grand magus you killed is an infamous criminal who has a deep relationship with the pirate king… Krell, the Dread Reaper... Because you were the one who defeated him, the loot rightfully belongs to you... however," she added, her expression apologetic, "Regretfully, we cannot give you the grand magus soul and apertures as they are needed for further investigation into the pirate king's secrets."

She then held out a storage ring, explaining, "As a replacement, we have placed 100 million spirit stones in this ring as compensation. We have also reported the matter to the Magus Alliance, for which you shall receive substantial faction points."

"I hope you don't mind," Tessa said, her eyes searching Emery's face for any sign of displeasure.

Emery accepted the offer with a nod, understanding the necessity of their actions. After all, if it had not been for Spirit Master Nayef's help, he wouldn't have had the opportunity to defeat the grand magus.

As Emery touched the staff, he felt a sudden resistance from the soul within it. He soon realized that the Karat faction had already placed a seal on the staff, greatly restraining the soul within.

Tessa observed his reaction and said, "It's very difficult to tame the soul within. You might want to cleanse it, or if you prefer, I can auction this weapon for you." she offered with a smile.

Emery considered her offer for a moment. Tier 7 artifacts were not easily found, and his high proficiency in darkness and strong mental fortitude gave him the confidence to attempt to tame the weapon himself.

Tessa nodded, "Alright then, be careful with it" Emery left the vault with four treasures, 100 million spirit stones, and a significantly improved relationship with the Karat faction. It was a good day for Emery and the Earth faction.
