Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3895 Impeded Journey?

Chapter 3895  Impeded Journey?

Above the land, a mountain range stretched across the horizon. Each peak was almost as tall as the skies when viewed from below, its jagged peaks piercing the ceiling as though it was seeking a fight against the heavens. Wisps of mist clung to the rocky vegetation, swirling lazing in the cool air.

But the mountain range was not as normal as it seemed.

Hidden with the peaks and even the valleys and surroundings were pockets of distorted space— anomalies that twisted the fabric of space. Although time didn't seem to flow differently here, the landscape seemed ever-shifting, sometimes the peak piercing down instead of the skies.

With the ever-changing perspective of the landscape that could make anyone prey to the shifting mountains as they could be crushed before they knew it, no one dared to tread this land without someone who knew the trick to traverse this place, and even then, even the experts wouldn't go too deep.

While this place was infamous for crushing any sort of being, a sleek flying ship hovered above the range, its hull gleaming in the dim light of the setting sun, the crew on board appeared to be tense as they scanned the mountain range for any unusual activity.

They also activated the ship's detection formations, its undulation sweeps probing the depths of the anomalies with pulses of energy. However, the readings were scrambled by the spatial anomalies, leaving it practically useless. The experts on board knew that this kind of disruption was normal here, so they didn't care too much.

However, they still possessed doubtful expressions.

"Strange. I swear the detection formation in our sect picked up a strange anomaly that deviated from its usual gibberish waves. It was as though it had some life to it…"

A middle-aged man uttered with narrowed eyes. His hair was green, and he wore a black robe similar to the people around him. It appeared they were all from a sect.

"Are you sure it wasn't just a spacequake instead?" Asked another black-robed man.

He possessed black hair but looked quite suave with his toned body, "Perhaps it was a reverse spacequake where some treasure had appeared."

"Haha, you could be right." The green-haired man laughed, "However, this anomaly came from the depths. We aren't sure anymore if it exists, but would you like to try exploring?"

"Screw you." The black-haired man waved his hand, "I missed the beheading of traitors to take care of those scrawny disciples, and you want me to waste time here searching for treasures while risking my life in this heaven-forbidden land? For the sake of your wife, no."

"Die, you bastard."

"Ahaha!"

"Elders, stop!"

They exchanged a few moves before smiling at each other after being berated by the senior disciples. Then, they sighed.

"Let's not waste time here. It's your fault for mentioning my wife that I need to go see her right now."

"Yeah, yeah. I'll go spend some time with our sect's junior sisters. Perhaps I'll get lucky." The black-haired man chuckled. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Damn, you're gonna offend someone someday and get beheaded by some young master for some dumb reason."

"Keep dreaming, peasant."

The green-haired man coughed before he navigated the flying ship while the black-haired man posed as suave as possible, as though he was the king of the world and nothing could stop him.

With a low hum, the flying ship turned away from the mountains, its engines flaring as it began to ascend back into the skies. Within moments, it was gone, leaving the mountain range in silence once again.

Even the wild magical beasts and feral magical beasts living here were silent, knowing not to attract attention to themselves as they could be ganged upon and forced into a dead end where they would be crushed by the twisting mountains.

For them to have survived this long here required a far more understanding of the environment than those who merely came here to visit and check if all was fine. After all, regions with spatial instability were prone to experiencing spacequakes.

However, the magical beasts weren't the only lives living here.

In a secluded crevice, hidden deep within the most intense of the spatial anomalies, a figure stirred into existence. It was a woman. She was clad in a flowing purple robe, her expression curious yet frantic as she puffed her cheeks. She emerged from the distortion of the spatial anomaly as though stepping through a curtain.

Her presence had gone unnoticed by the ship's crew, shielded by the very anomalies that had baffled their sensors.

"Perverted humans… are they always thinking about… that…?"

The woman's cheeks flushed with a rosy hue.

She was none other than Stella Voidfield!

She watched the ship disappear into the distance, a satisfied smile playing on her lips. They had come close—too close for comfort—but they had found nothing. The spatial anomalies here were both her shield and her weapon, a perfect cloak to hide herself and-

With a graceful movement, she turned around and descended into the mountain's mouth. The rocky walls parted from the spatial anomalies, but also with her nudge, revealing a hidden passage that led her deeper into the earth. She stepped inside, the entrance sealing itself behind her, and continued into the darkness.

The air grew warmer, and the tunnel opened into a narrow pathway where it led to a small cave entrance enough to fit three humans at the same time. Even here, space was weird. If someone were to walk forward, they might walk backward or even sideways, unable to proceed. However, Stella flew inside without facing trouble and appeared at a dead end.

However, she disappeared, reappearing in a vast world.

"What happened?"

"It was as you said, Mingzhi. The local sect wasn't too worried about the anomalous waves my mini-realm birthed during its creation. They left after some checks. It's good that we don't have to kill them~"

Stella giggled, causing Mingzhi to giggle silently.

"This local sect is quite dangerous as it has three Early Stage Autarchs, and one even said to step into the Mid Stage with their prowess. Be careful not to get on their radar while improving your new mini-realm."

"Mhm~ Understood."

Stella nodded and disappeared.

On the other hand, Mingzhi's smiling expression slowly went stiff.

She couldn't help but wonder what had happened in the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Minor Realm as it was past the execution time, like thirty minutes ago. They couldn't get there in time. At least, that was the consensus, as Davis was still secluded in a palace after giving out the command to make a mini realm in the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm.

After all, when they were about to finally leave the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm, Stella abruptly reported that she lost connection to the Void Dust Sanctuary in the Great Desolate Plains of the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm. Therefore, they briefly discussed and decided to return to the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm in order to set up a mini-realm.

Mingzhi searched hard to find a suitable place, and she was getting praised for it as everything was so good so far, but she couldn't get rid of the strange feeling that was gnawing at her heart. She suspected Davis was no longer here, but it was difficult to prove, with him having secluded himself in the name of practicing some kind of technique.

She clenched her teeth and decided to go visit him even if she had to break down the doors, just like how she was adamant about making him accept her as his woman back then.

She flew across the void dust land underneath the starry skies, and came across a palace. She disappeared into it and headed towards Davis's seclusion chamber.

However, she also saw another woman there, looking like she was about to step into his chamber, but appeared to hesitate.
