"a prototype woman?" Chen gazed at the weird guy strangely. Since the moment they had met this young man had been strange. The way he talked, the accent he used, and the way he behaved were unlike any person he had seen before. At first, he chalked it up to those underground people, but now he can clearly see the difference. Even the underground people know what kind of dangers lurk above the ground.

but this guy was clueless about zombies.

he was either a complete lunatic or a person who grew up in a completely different environment.

Unblinking, he peered at him.

The young man blinked up at him with a small smile.

For a second, Chen was in a daze looking at his fan-like lashes. 'jee he has thick lashes…'

"you guys don't know what a prototype woman is?" Skyy awkwardly peered at him.

Chen realized he was staring too much and looked away. "Yeah, what is that?"

"We are specifically synthesized humans who are born with operating male and female organs." the guy looked into the bonfire unblinking. "I hate being a pw. We don't have any kind of human right."

Chen let out a small sigh. 'That concludes it. he is a lunatic.' He subtly nudged Zara.

She scooted close. "Do you think his friends are real?"

"I'm one hundred percent certain his friends do not exist." He whispered back.

She let out a soft sigh. "Sorry I dragged you into this. He looked sane. I didn't realize he was completely gone in the head."

Skyy curiously looked up. "Why is it you guys don't know about prototype women? Maybe it's because you both are on a run for a while…. That explains it." he cast a comforting smile their way.

"We are not..."

Zara swiftly pinched his arm. "Yeah…" she awkwardly smiled at the pale young man. "we are on the run. Actually, we are planning to move to a secret place that can protect us. Do you wish to come with us? I'm sure its better than the amazons.…"

Hearing this Skyy froze. the idea of setting their home in the Amazon Forest seemed very tempting but he had read a few books. he knew how lush of a forest it was. They might not even get basic supplies worse they might fail to find a good source of food every day…

'Maybe this secret place the siblings talked about is worth looking at. if it's in good condition, we can stay together. more the merrier.'

"I'll take a look after we find Kyle."

"Yeah definitely! You know what, tomorrow morning we are getting up early and we are going to find your best friend. On the way, we might stop at our secret place. You have to keep it a secret, okay? Only a few of us know this place," she said softly, with a smile.

That idea seemed good, so Skyy nodded. "How are you so sure Kyle is on the way?"

"ohh he knows. Don't you Chen," she hurriedly pinched his arm.

Chen nodded with his head lowered. Lying to this innocent young man seemed wrong on so many levels, but it was absolutely necessary. His dad's orders were to bring any survivors that they deemed safe back to the base. Plus, this guy was powerless. If they left him alone, he would be a zombie meal in less than an hour.

Knowing the truth, he was unable to just leave him.

Chen added a few sticks to the flame. "You guys' head to bed. I'll stand watch. We have a busy day tomorrow."

They had all the camping gear in the car. Chen set up a simple sleeping area for them both.

The young man looked at the worn-out bedding and a sleeping bag intently.

"it's clean," he added.

"oh... No. I... I haven't seen a pattern like that," he squatted down and held the bedding close. "It is mesmerizing. earth is super cool.

Back at our base. All we had were boring white sheets and white walls." He rolled down onto the bed and snuggled it dearly in his arms. "It smells so good~"

Chen silently looked away. 'Where did Trexa catch this guy?' his eyes fell on the car. Trexa had fallen asleep a few hours ago and was completely out of it. he had tried to wake her up for dinner but she did not even move muscles. Scared he had checked her heartbeat. Thankfully, she was only sleeping.

'I can find out the truth after Trexa wakes up…'

"won't you get sleepy" the young man poked his head out of the sleeping bag.

"No," Chen massaged his brows.

"But you look tired."

Chen chuckled softly. "I'm used to it."

Skyy peered at him subtly. He had heard rumors of ability users; how rude they were and how they mistreated their pw's. he had thought Kaden was the only exception to this rumor. 'Turns out there are a lot of kind ability users out there.'

This ability user looked around twenty or so, but he was bearing the heavy responsibility of protecting the last female in this world. It must have been exhausting. But he did it without whining or complaining.

"you're a good person, Chen." Skyy snuggled back into the sleeping bag. "Good night~"

In a different environment, on rough ground, and in a dry sleeping bag, he had the best sleep of his life. He felt like he was floating.

Because he was free.

With a lasting smile on his face, he slept through the night.

The next morning, right at daybreak, the group got up. The pair of siblings packed up their stuff at record speed and threw it into the car.

"What shall we have for breakfast? I found old oats under the seat."

"Hmm heat some in the car. We won't be stopping until we get to the base." Chen started the car and soon they were out on the abandoned dilapidated roads.

Subtly, he gazed at the young man, who was intently looking out the window.

"How is your base? Does It ever contact the outside world? How do you guys get food?"

"Hmm? it's the only human settlement on the moon, so we are kind of isolated. The only way out of there is by shuttles or escape pods. Thankfully, Kaden was able to find a passcode for one. We all just hopped in and flew over here. and we get our food in chutes.

I think it's from Earth... but who knows? I have not been out of my room and the common area since young, so no clue."
