Back For My Daughter

Chapter 1287: Let's Surprise Everyone!

"Grandma Xue, why are you crying, did Grandpa Wang bully you again?"

Little Qiqi's words entered her ears followed by the little girl slowly reaching out her hand to wipe the tears that we rolling down her Grandma Xue's cheeks.

"No, how can that old fellow bully me, I touched some chillies a while ago and accidentally touched my eyes, so it's burning now."

"Ohhh!"

Grandma Xue chuckled before giving a hug to the little girl, who also hugged her back with a wide smile on her face.

After a moment, Grandma Xue herself broke the hug and asked while wiping her tears.

"Where are the others?"

Just as she asked, she heard a few more steps.

It was Ye Qian who was carrying Xiao Ya in one hand with his other hand carrying the Little Qiqi's back.

And behind him, there were two more figures.

One was a woman and the other was a small boy who seemed around the same age as Little Qiqi.

The little girl hadn't even waited for Ye Qian to walk to get them out before she jumped from the car and rushed into the building, eager to meet all her grandparents.

And since Mrs Ji was on leave, she thought that meeting with Ye Qian's parents would be good at least she might be able to convince him to bring them back home with him.

Although she knew that she didn't have any kind of reason or right to say this to Ye Qian, who was just a fellow parent just like her, she felt that maybe with how much Ye Qian loved his daughters, she might be able to convince him for their sake and bring his parents back home.

She thought that this might be a good deed she might be doing on her special day.

And if it happened, she would only get the blessing of the elderlies.

When she followed Ye Qian who had a gentle smile on his face, she somewhat felt that he was also happy to meet his PARENTS, and thought that it was because of his wife that they had to live here.

Thinking of this she frowned for a moment before trying to think of how she could help even if this was a family matter and she didn't have any say in it.

"Mr Ye, do you come here often?"

She asked as they reached the first floor.

"Hmm, every two or so days, I don't have the heart to keep her away from her grandparents who have loved her for so long."

Ye Qian's genuine expression made her conclude that her initial doubt was indeed right.

'It's because of his wife.'

Just as she saw Little Qiqi's figure who was being hugged by an elderly lady, she couldn't help but feel her heart tremble.

Being a woman, even if she had seen this elderly lady for the first time, she could feel that she was yearning to meet Little Qiqi.

Her frail-looking old stature, despite being weary seemed to be gaining a newfound vigor as she smiled along with the little girl.

'Sigh, the only hope for any grandparent is their grandchild.'

Mrs Ji let out a sigh as a gentle smile formed on her lips as she looked at her son who seemed to be lost in his own memories he had made with his grandparents.

"Don't worry, we will go meet them this weekend."

Mrs Ji smiled as she stroked Zhimen's head, eliciting a joyous jump from the little fellow.

"Hehe, thank you Mom, we will get Grandpa his favourite biscuits."

Hearing this, Mrs Ji couldn't help but let out a chuckle.

It wasn't that his grandpa had a favourite biscuit, rather it was because the little fellow liked it a lot and since he did, his grandpa would ask him to bring it along so that they could share.

"Alright, I also need to bring your grandma a new pair of specs," Mrs Ji nodded as they followed Ye Qian who now stood beside Grandma Yan who seemed to be greeting him in a somewhat weird manner.

Not like how a mother would after seeing her son.

This caused Mrs Ji to frown but then she noticed Grandma Yan looking at her with her brows raised high as she was just a few steps away from them.

"Ahh, this lady here...?"

Grandma Xue asked.

"Ahh, Grandma, she is Zhimen's mom, Zhimen is my friend."

Little Qiqi, who was holding her grandma's finger informed.

"Ohhh, so you are Zhimen, Little Qiqi mentioned you a few times."

Grandma Xue extended her other hand towards the boy's head, patting him gently.

"Ahh, really."

Akin to a cat who had been stepped on his tail, Zhimen almost jumped, and if not for his mother holding him, the little fellow might really have.

Seeing him acting like this, Mrs Ji smiled wryly and made an apologizing gesture at Grandma Yan, to which she simply waved her hand.

"It's alright, this happens when children meet someone new."

She then turned to look at Little Qiqi, giving her a doting look and continued.

"Our Qiqi also acted when she came here first and had met so many people."

"Hehe, grandma that day you gave me a cake," the little girl grinned recalling what she had been given the day they first met.

"Of course, I remember that," Grandma Xue pinched the little girl's nose before she turned to Ye Qian.

"Okay, let's go in, many will get mad at me if I keep you holding here."

Ye Qian nodded, although she didn't say anything, he could feel the solemn atmosphere and the dead silence in the old age home, which was kinda of unusual.

And thanks to his heightened senses, Ye Qian could hear numerous sighs and some talks.

It didn't take long for him to realize what was really going on in this old age home which he had seen bustling with joy and happiness the first time he came here.

Just as they were a few meters away from the hall's door, Grandma Xue turned to Little Qiqi and said.

"Qiqi, just hide behind me okay."

"Huh, okay."

Saying that the little girl hid behind her things, her small figure completely hidden behind Grandma Xue's gown.
