Chapter 181- Astarra's Dilemma
"It was just a joke," Avendial paused to dust off his clothes, noticing the soft expression on Rivia's face that suggested her world had come crashing down.
This realization led him to suspect that a significant misunderstanding had arisen from his words. He clarified, "I was being sarcastic; use your common sense. I would have been only four years old when Lin was born. How could I possibly be his father?"
"!"
"Oh, Ahem, yes, correct." The first to respond was Aria, who, despite her initial doubts, reflected on his words and began to question her own understanding.
She had seen the status and then thrown his comments back at him, realizing he didn't typically joke around—aside from the occasional teasing.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
For a brief moment, she had taken him seriously, but now she understood how illogical her reasoning had been.
Rivia shared the same sentiment as she averted her gaze, nodding as if to concede that Avendial's reasoning was sound, acknowledging her own unfounded doubts.
"You both need to use a little common sense," Avendial added, shaking his head as he made his way out of the place. Two men clad in black suits, members of the Sertsul family, awaited his orders.
He provided them with the instructions they needed.
His first command was to change Lin's clothes to the Santa outfit he had worn earlier. Simultaneously, he sent a message to the Sertsul family, directing them to manipulate the news channels to showcase the stories he wanted broadcast the following morning.
After all, this entire operation was aimed at achieving the desired results stemming from all this planning that had taken his time today.

"How did he know?" Far away, seated inside her room, was a woman looking toward the window from where the moonlight was filtering. Her chair was rolling up and down with her eyes clearly covered as she closed them, remembering the words of the man from the phone call and again rejecting it as just a fluke, realizing that cutting the call had just given him confirmation, and she had made a mistake here.
It was Astarra who was seated inside her room on a chair while thinking about the reason for those words from her quest, considering it was possible that it was just a random word at which she had given him a doubtful confirmation. At the same time, it was also true that he had definitely reached the conclusion that those words were trying to confirm something rather than just mocking, prompting her to realize her own mistake.
She couldn't help but remember the day when she made a huge mistake while trying to deal with her ability, thinking that she might be able to transfer the strength of her future self into her past body, just like how she possessed the ability to communicate with her future self. Find adventures on empire
Indeed, she possessed an ability that allowed her to communicate with her future self. From that, she came to know about how, in a year, this world would most probably be emptied, with most people transferring into the newly arrived Towers, leaving this world as it is, with superpowers awakening one after another, just like Imperials. There were many things she learned from her future self, and she realized how weak she would be in the early stages due to her ability of being just able to communicate, rather than possessing an attack or defense-type ability.
After using this future knowledge, she secretly started to elevate her position within the Ronen family. However, as she did, she slowly came to realize that no matter how strong her position was in the family, once the world was hit by the otherworldly energy, she would be at the mercy of a royal family that possessed an enormous amount of manpower and forms of Empyreals.
This prompted her to start improving her own energy, going as far as to get her hands on things that cost too much for the Ronen family. Yet, she acquired awakening stones that the royal family used to awaken individuals and provide them power, though there were side effects. Nevertheless, it was successful, and she opened a path to a second awakening, albeit momentarily. She knew that opening the channel would enable her to get the strength of her future self.
It was the same as obtaining the strength that her future body possessed in her present body. And as she did, it was successful. She gained the strength and the ability to predict the upcoming future to a certain extent, allowing her to guess attack patterns and even predict the motion of psi energy. She could be considered strong enough to compete with swordmasters.
But there was a significant issue she became entangled with.
From her future body, she received another thing: the seeds of a man.
This was unacceptable and confusing, as it appeared that her future self was about to get pregnant by some man, and her past self had even, with that strength, also received those seeds and become pregnant with a child.
It was humiliating. At the same time, she tried to find out how and why her future self did that.
But it seemed she could only communicate with her future self ten years into the future—not with the one from twenty or more years ahead from whom she had transferred her strength.
So the future self, with whom she was communicating, also had no idea how it happened. However, she was able to guess from the child's traits that he possessed silver hair and striking pink eyes, just like Marquess Avendial Croceaus.
The more humiliating aspect was that this Avendial person was just a four-year-old child at that time.
It was a flabbergasting revelation, making her dismiss the notion entirely, prompting her to decide to leave the Ronen family and the kingdom of Thaloris. She noticed that her hair had begun to turn blue over time, which was pink initially.
This led her to claim it was some kind of disease. With the ability she got from the future, she was able to change her hair color and most of the features of her upcoming son into one of the Ronen family's traits—pink hair.
Considering she herself was going through the phase where her physical features were changing, she isolated herself in Free City, waiting for her strength to saturate and her physical body to finally settle down, and once the Tower arrived, she would have made her way directly to take control of the Ronen family.
But somehow, Marquess Croceaus came out in Free City.
"Sigh, what a hassle." Astarra herself didn't have any opinion of that child, considering there was an age gap of 20 years between them, but at the same time, it was too uncomfortable for her to accept that her future self even thought of sleeping with another man who was 20 years younger than her.
Nor could she get an answer presently.
