X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 87: A Duel

Chapter 87: A Duel

"Toy with him?"

Everyone around almost choked to death upon hearing the cruel wordings of little Jade. Toy with him? That was definitely much different than play with him!

If they played together, it was in equal standing. But to be toyed with? One must know that those who were being toyed with were the ones who were just dancing in the hand of the other party, and couldn't even force the other party to show their full potential.

It was as if a cat toying with a mouse that it caught. The mouse was completely helpless while the cat was just playing around!

Even Jim himself didn't know how to respond to the claims of his little sister. He was actually treating his younger brother Jasper as a plaything!

But thinking about it now, Jim seemed to realize something. From the very beginning, Jim was just watching from the side, letting his younger brother do all sorts of stupid things just to catch his Evolving White Wolf.

It was as if he was just toying his younger brother using his bunch of tamed beasts! But Jim didn't want it to appear that way. He never thought of toying with his younger brother in the first place. He didn't even want to fight him. Why was he thinking that he was toying with his younger brother? He was not that cruel you know!

On the other hand, Jasper felt like he should just forget about the matter. He never thought that his little sister would be so cruel enough for him. What even worse was that his little sister wasn't completely wrong. His big brother really had the ability to do so!

"What?! You're giving up now?" Jade made a disdainful look to his big brother Jasper. She knew that Jasper was strong and blessed so she would definitely not favor him. After all, she was not someone who would stick to the strong and leech on them. That was disgusting.

That being said, she liked her big brother Jim more than her big brother Jasper. He may be weak but Jade knew well how hard her big brother Jim was trying to struggle just to become a little stronger.

But it didn't mean that she didn't love Jasper. No matter what, he was still her brother!

"Don't worry, since we are going to play anyway, let's play together!" Jade added with an excited smile surfacing on her lips.

"This..." Jasper wanted to cry! He never thought that things would end up like this. He shouldn't have used the word 'play' in front of her little sister!

"What?! You don't want to play with me?" Jade frowned. She was displeased. She narrowed her eyes towards Jasper as she crossed her arms.

"Ugh... Ok, let's play together then." Jasper didn't know how to refuse so in the end, he ended up agreeing with her. He then scratched the back of his head as he asked, "Then what are we going to play?"

If it was only with his big brother Jim, they would surely fight each other. But with Jade here? Jasper could only shake his head slowly as he would definitely never fight his little sister.

"What else should we play except by showing off our abilities and fighting each other?!" Jade responded.

"Show abilities? Fight each other?" Jasper shuddered from those words.

"Yeah! Since we are a Hunter, we should play this way. And since you are strong enough yourself, me and Kuya Jim are certainly together and we will fight you alone!" Jade explained with her eyes gleaming in excitement. But a moment later, her excited self turned cold and her voice was icy while saying, "But I must warn you, if you dare lay a hand on me or to Kuya Jim, I will ask Lolo and mama to beat you up until you regretted the fact that you were even born into this world!"

What the heck! Jasper finally cried out! He couldn't find any more words to speak as only tears were continuously streaming down his cheeks.

They would play each other but he was not allowed to do anything against them? Was that a prank? Was that even a play? Was this the meaning of toy with him? Jasper just learned how strong his big brother Jim really was. If the other party made a move, and he wasn't allowed to fight back, then shouldn't that mean that he was at a complete disadvantage?

But before that, could he even defend himself against him? He should be the one who was going on the offensive, not his big brother Jim!

On the other hand, Jim was speechless as well. Seeing the hopeless expressions of his younger brother, Jim could only force himself to not laugh. He finally had seen his younger brother lowering his pride to anyone again.

But he was happy as well. They had finally been together once again. And from the looks of it, Jim could tell that their relationship was not that bad. Their little sister was still the boss!

After a moment, Jim then walked closer to Jade as he tapped her shoulder. "It's ok if we were the only one who will play. Can you just watch us play, little Jade?"

"You don't need me to protect you?" Jade was rather doubtful as she turned around to see Jim.

"It's fine, it's fine. After all, it's only a play." Jim smiled.

"Hmmmm. If you say so, then ok." Jade agreed reluctantly. After which, she shifted back her gaze to Jasper as she warned, "You must be thankful that Kuya Jim wanted to play with you! But I must warn you again, if you go too far, don't blame me for being impolite!"

Jade lived in the guild. And in the guild, she already saw many fights and conflicts, and misunderstandings between the members. They often threaten each other or do all sorts of trash talk.

As a result, she adopted from them the subtle art of threatening someone. And she was practicing her threatening skill to her big brother Jasper. And from the looks of it, it appeared that it was working. Jade was satisfied with her performance. She was even thinking of doing this from time to time to further her threatening skill.

Jasper began to sweat when he heard the threat of his little sister. He could only gulp a mouthful of saliva before he could reply, "I won't go too far."

Jasper wanted to say that his big brother Jim must be the one who shouldn't go too far. But would his sister even believe in him? Definitely not! Not unless she saw for herself the power of their big brother.

Jasper then shifted his gaze to Jim as he said, "Kuya, let's do it right here right now. But you are not allowed to seek help from your tamed beast and the same goes for me. We will only fight one-on-one."

"O-one on one?" Jim frowned. He was planning to use his Evolving White Wolf on the duel but the other party was asking for 1v1? Jim doubted that his power alone, without using blood ability, was not enough to fight his younger brother.

"Yes. If you have the capability to tame those beasts, then surely, your strength alone must be capable as well right?"

"That..." Jim didn't know what to say. It was true that his strength alone with his blood ability was definitely strong. But it was deadly as well that he wasn't planning to use it against his younger brother.

If the other party turned into a dry corpse, wouldn't it mean that he would become a sinner?

But now that Jim had thought about it, Jim's curiosity turned wild again. He was wondering what would likely happen if he turned a human into a dry corpse and used it as a vessel for his blood. Would it become his tamed human?

Thinking about it more clearly, Jim felt a shudder down to his spine. He would definitely not be tempted to do something evil like that! He was afraid that just like how he was planning to do an all-out massacre for the beasts in the forest to turn them into his Blood Warriors, he would also think the same way and start his massacre against humans.

Jim shook his head frenziedly as he tried to chase away his wild thoughts. He cleared up his mind, organized his thought, stared at his younger brother before he said, "Fine then. Let's do it that way."

Without using his blood ability, Jim didn't know how strong his combat prowess really was. But Jim had just realized the many assets in him so he didn't worry that much.

His reaction speed coupled with his hearing ability was considered good enough to react on time from the barrage of attack of a B-rank beast. His Life Energy was overwhelming as well that even if his younger brother attacked him in full strength, he was more than certain that he could still survive.

About the offensive, though Jim was not planning to use his blood ability, there was still his illusion. He still hadn't tried it out though. The last time he used it was when he freed Bantay from his uncle's illusion. As for how strong was his illusion's offensive capability, he really was curious to know.

And now, the opportunity had just shown up itself, Jim would definitely grab this chance!
