<3rd Person POV>
Goyang, Gyeonggi South Korea
Lavender Karaoke Bar.
The air buzzed with excitement as a bunch of students celebrated their graduation day. This place was renowned for having one of the largest karaoke rooms in the area, capable of accommodating almost 30 people.
Now, two of these rooms were occupied by freshly graduated students, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion.
The air was filled with the sound of laughter and chatter as boys and girls mingled, drinks in hand.
Some were deep in conversation, their voices rising above the music as they shared stories and jokes. Others were clustered around tables piled high with delicious foods, indulging in snacks and treats between sips of their drinks.
In one corner of the room, a group of friends had commandeered the karaoke machine, taking turns belting out their favorite tunes with varying degrees of talent.
Their voices echoed through the room, occasionally punctuated by bursts of laughter or cheers from the crowd.
Meanwhile, on the makeshift dance floor, couples swayed and twirled to the rhythm of the music, lost in the joy of the moment.
The lively atmosphere made it easy for some of the girls to be swayed by their classmates who were quite popular.
They were sitting close to one another, the presence of alcohol making some of the boys more daring. With inhibitions lowered, hands lingered a little longer on arms and shoulders, laughter turned flirtatious, and playful touches became more frequent.
"Hey Ayumi, what's your plan after high school?" asked a handsome boy, his short black hair neatly buzzed and his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
He had a strong jawline and stood tall at around 6'1". As the baseball ace of their school, he was very popular with the girls, and was invited her by one of the popular girls.
His presence added to the already buzzing energy of the gathering, drawing admiring glances from the girls and envy from the boys.
However, his intention in coming here was not just to hang out. He had a crush on Ayumi and was hoping to get lucky tonight. Despite her petite stature, Ayumi's body was matured in all the right places, and he couldn't help but be tempted.
In his mind, she would be an easy target, just like the other girls he had used and discarded before. He felt confident in his ability to charm her and win her over.
His conversation with Ayumi caught the attention of some who had a crush on him, their eyes lingering on the interaction with a mixture of curiosity and jealousy.
Ayumi also noticed him eyeing her, but she was not in the mood at all. It had been a long time since her Seonsaeng-nim had contacted her, and now she felt really lonely.
In fact, she was even afraid to admit that he had completely forgotten about her after getting bored.
It was not uncommon for rich and handsome boys to discard girls, after all.
And her Seonsaeng-nim was not just rich and handsome. He was effortlessly cool, smart, reliable, and skilled in the bedroom. He checked all the boxes for being the most perfect boyfriend.
"I don't know yet. I'm still waiting for the results from Seoul University," Ayumi replied.
She had chosen that school after her grades improved, hoping to become more capable so her Seonsaeng-nim would be proud of her. Surprisingly, she ended up achieving higher rank and becoming a lot more popular in the process.
"Sim Ji stopped harassing her," one of the boys joked, calling out the baseball ace.
But he simply ignored them and continued to focus more on Ayumi.
"How about we exchange numbers? I'm not doing anything during the vacation, so maybe we could hang out? " He suggested.
This time, it was obvious that he was hitting on her.
"I can't," Ayumi shook her head. She was not interested at all. While others might find Sim Ji handsome, he was lacking a lot compared to her Seonsaeng-nim.
However, her denial triggered the other girls. They felt that she was acting snobbish and haughty just because Sim Ji was giving her attention. One of them called out and tried to humiliate her.
"Hey Ayumi, don't think you're all that just because Sim Ji's talking to you. You're not as special as you think," the girl sneered, her words were directly aimed at her.
Ayumi felt a pang of hurt at the girl's words but refused to show it. She knew she was not like them, constantly seeking validation from boys to boost their self-esteem.
Instead, she remained composed and simply replied, "I'm sorry if I gave you that impression. I just think it's wrong to hang out with another guy because I have a boyfriend."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
The bully's eyes narrowed as she processed her claim.
Everyone knew about the rumors that Ayumi had a boyfriend, an infamous substitute teacher at their school. Unfortunately, they could barely remember his face for some reason.
"Sure, sure, Ayumi," the bully replied, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "We all know about your mysterious boyfriend. What's his name again? Mr... uh... I can't seem to recall.
Must be quite the catch if he's keeping himself hidden from the rest of us."
The other girls snickered at the remark, adding to the tension in the room.
Ayumi felt her fists clenching involuntarily as she gripped her skirt tightly. She wanted to retort, to defend herself against the mockery, but it was graduation party, and she didn't want to create a commotion.
"Hey, hey, stop that. You're being too mean," Sim Ji intervened, stepping forward to defend Ayumi. He gently placed a hand on her shoulder, offering her silent support.
"Please don't touch me," Ayumi said firmly, creating a distance between them.
Only her Seonsaeng-nim could touch her, no matter what.
"Stop acting like a bitch!" The popular girl who had invited Sim Ji snapped, her voice cutting through the chatter and drawing the attention of everyone in the room.
Her sudden outburst caused a hush to fall over the gathering as all eyes turned towards them, curious to see what would happen next.
